I don't mind being insulted by you but there must be people close to you who experience your anger and negative emotional responses making them feel on edge and uncomfortable to say the least. I think you need to show your last 10 or so posts to some sort of professional and seek their views as to what they are really saying about the author rther than the topic.

I actually think GDP is a poor measure by which to judge the success and happiness of a nation. The best illustration of that was outlined in a house of lords speech in which a female peer said ' so the more sewage we spill into our rivers , the more clean up activities we undertake and the more our gdp grows'. FFS.

If anyone reads the speech made by Robert Kennedy Senior, just before he was shot , he outlines how gdp really misses the important things in life.

In the vain hope that it will make a difference I have emailed my MP who is passing it on to the minister , asking for a full response, voicing my conerns over the actions of the government during the current unrest. She says she will let me know what the minister says - not sure which - maybe Yvette Cooper. [ I have more or less said the government are not keeping people safe and through their remarks and actions are making matters worse as they need to really address the concerns of the people who are protesting - all of that dressed up more eloquently].

Looks like the steadying of markets and receeding recession fears for USA and rioting in UK are pushing us a bit higher .

What I have concluded is that the government is trying very hard to get social media censored through a combination of legislation and threats to their very existence. The only platform that seems to have any strength to resist is X and frankly Elon is very unpredictable so no real confidence that channel will retain 'free speech'. The current crack down on protestors and corralling of main stream media is beyond anything I ever thought would happen in the UK. The government has become so authoritarian that I am certain the 'protests' will now morph into something broader but more peaceful until we get another Trigger. Maybe more pensioners will start en masse , thinking a warm prison cell and 3 meals a day is a better alternative to life on the outside this winter!! Lol.

I think the crew have thrown the captain overboard after he steered the ship into the cashflow iceberg. The ship will still sink unfortunately for many on board.

Haifa, I disagree strongly about catalysts for sp growth , they are;

1. Share buy backs will lift eps

2.Strategic changes being implemented by new ceo will cut costs

3. Falling interest rates will make the yield even more attractive

4.Trends on annuity purchases will continue to support business growth.

we shall see..

I hope there is some truth to that rumour , rather than it being falsly spread to lift the sp now that someone has bought in. In reality because such a large proportion is held by Pentland , they will decide when to sell up and our future is in their hands.

Sp will rise at least 10p today imv and more to come I hope!
