Gordon, good news for whom ? Is it perhaps another pie in the sky idea to keep investors ploughing money into the company and keeping the ceo in clover or is it a serious viable project - investors must decide!

Maidit, storage of 10-20% of the estimated demand will require suitably sized pipelines and compressor installations to transport the gas. Dorset is so far from the UK's demand the idea that investors will stump up the cash is laughable imv. Just look at a map of the current UK gas transmission system and that will give you an idea.

IMV, the company has finally realised that the Portland storage project is a non runner because it will be hugely expensive to excavate the Portland stone and lay a pipeline to connect it to the source of demand and supply . This is acknowledged in the wording of the RNS however when the 'new' location is revealed it might become apparant that it too is poorly located and unlikely to be 'competitive' with other bids from elsewhere in the UK. If I were a shareholder here I would sell on any temporary uplift to the sp today.

Really disappointed that the sp has not climbed further - surely the buy back volumes will take effect soon?

40% of the mcap of the company is covered by the cash pile and a further 8% is being returned to shareholders this half year. It would be possible to value the company at double its current level and at some point the market will do the numbers and adjust the sp imv- we shall see.

Bought another £5k - bargain imv at any price below £30.

UB, why do you think the CWU is the problem? As i recall it was that useless CEO liivingstone who wasted £bns on his sports projects when it needed the cash to invest in the network. Plus , it is up to management to modernise working practices and if they are unable to do so, they should be sacked . The C suite here is paid millions and they are responsible for all the ills you identify . It seems to me that the CWU is doing a good job for its members whilst the management have done a poor job for the shareholders.

So the country has unsustainable debts - what's the answer - inflation. But will the money markets let them get away with it? Will the B of E hold interest rates high so as to achieve 2% or will they let the government run along with 3-4% ? Will the government find new ways to manipulate the stats to show lower inflation than reality - which I believe they have managed to do since 1970s ? This does remind me of the mid 1970s when inflation really took hold as a labour government gave in to union demands. We shall see.

Here is the problem, the government dont understand that net zero cannot be delivered in a practical way, even if we could afford it. I read a government paper on netzero and the consultants made some heroic assumptions but still came up with £100 bn plus. It won't happen even professor Dieter helm says that!

Solley, I Have been in this share since privatisation and I don't think I have made more than I would if I had deposited the cash in a bank! -Frankly , given all the rights issues etc over time I have no trace of what my 'avergae price' is any more ! Very happy with recent performance however!

Vernon, the idea behind the ridiculous net zero folly is that surplus renewable elctricity will be passed through electrolysers creating hydrogen. The real issue I have with that is that there will be little to no surplus renewable electricty and much of that generation is accompanied by battery storage. There is of course the option of carbon capture when creating it from methane but that is a conceptually a barking mad idea - to create a gas with half the calorific value at huge expense wasting megawatts of energy in the process. Frankly net zero ideology will make us all substantially poorer and colder and possibly hungrier!

ADM attempted to raise the price of my insurance by 20% but it backfired as I found an even cheaper quote. I rang to cancel my auto renewal and ended up speaking with an AI bot. Very realistic - just as clueless and un helpful as the typical overseas call centres I encounter elsewhere!
