Barclays have downgraded the sector and cut the rating on adidas - should we be worried?

Great RNS today indicating growing cash pile and good prospects - expecting 5 p on sp - we shall see.

RNS today is worth a few pence on the sp as medium term it puts the company at the centre of some large developments and in a favourable light withe the hopelessly over promoted no brainer Raynor.

Just the trade unions it seems - every other person has already written them off as the enemy of the people!

So the LOS comes from the organisation that represents the authors of the previous LOSs. Wow that should move the sp by a big zero%.

Guitar, why do we have to provide safe routes? This country is full to bursting with people - they could all go to australia a country the size of the whole of europe with one twentieth the population or the USA also not very densly populated or an enormously wealthy Saudi if they are keen on a muslim worshipping society? Sure we should take a number but given the 100000 backlog we can morally say , no more for a few years please .

John, I do not expect contract win rns' - I think we got the USA sales ones previously because it is such an important market to break into - other wins seem to be bau.

@RKtech, the point you make about upgrading the network to reduce the leakage from hydrogen is incorrect. The industry has been upgrading its old cast iron network with polethylene for over 50 years and the job is not yet complete. Leakage from PE pipes is effectively zero. The further point you make about raising pressures because of lower energy density is also true but in general the system already runs close to its design maximum so there is little scope for that and worse still hydrogen can cause welds to crack !

Halifax data out today should life the sp. Personally , living in the south of England and house hunting just now, I think proces are still falling but given the Halifax saya NI has risen 9,9%, I guess the overall average has to be believed and if it lifts the sp - good.

So we are getting rid of hereditery peers who frankly have no qualifications to be in the second chamber and have been replacing them by political appointees - some in their 20s who'se great contribution to political life is to suck up to [ or worse in the case of Boris Johnson] a prime minister. How is that an improvement?

SP static - why? Surely the analysts will rate this as a buy after these results?

I saw a chart of social security spending in uk in real terms and it shows a steady yearly increase and frankly is that surprising given the burden of many hundreds of thousands of unskilled people who have arrived here recently and the governments encouragement for people to consider themselves in need of state support? The country has a productivuty drag caused by these factors however good our company leaders are.

Romaron, no one outside the sector will read it but the authors will feel they have done their best. The sector is doomed unless/until Reform win the next election.

Company looks to be doing the right things - a long way back to former glory but the start is there imv.

Given the fcf is great , I make the p/e less than3 - surely a re rate is due here. The debt is falling at a rapid rate and the buy backs underpin the sp - what can go wrong?

Antony, I happen to have prepared very well for my life as a pensioner but I have been blessed with good health - many are not as fortunate as me, especially women who were 'home makers' and subsequently became divorced , with nothing beyond the state provision. The money that is being handed out in housing allowances [ apparantly one family of recent arrivals gets £60k according to Jeremy Vine show today] etc to people who have not contributed should be diverted to those who have lived their lives here . Total government failure and Starmer is making matters worse imv.
