Good results out today - but are they priced in?

Should rise a little today on contract news.

20% increase in profits equates to at least 10% on sp imv today.

Great results and sp should lift a few% today imv.

I am wondering if the FCA have had some legal advice along the lines that Barclays have a strong case and they are weary of ending up in court themselves and so are back pedalling.

Stargate, any ideas here - since your weak hold this has risen over 20%. Is a takeover a foot or has someone been sipping the Bollinger ?

The risk here is if the chancellor grabs some of the extra profits caused by the higher interest rates - must be tempting. I am a long term holder but am worried.

Laura, I think ilove was offering an opinion rather than stating a fact. I have no position here but if I had bought on Friday I would for certain be selling now.

Balanced , I used to work for SGN and am trying to provide a reality check here to the over enthusiastic ramping. The next thing i foresee is a placing to raise more cash to keep SS in clover for a few more months. This really is a long shot imv but we shall see.

Gordon, I don't think the government will be making the investment in storage and pipelines - they want to see the private sector commit to the projects and there is no commitment here for a pipeline , just encouragement on the storage itself. We shall see how this plays out . good luck.

Gordon, SGN are the second largest network provider but the key point is they are not going to stump up the tens of millions of pounds for a pipeline to connect portland storage to hydrogen demand. Other projects elsehwere in the UK have a huge geographic and geological advantage - but good luck to you all.

Gordon, absolute rubbish SGN are NOT the largest UK gas network provider that is Cadent Gas at a network level.

That's a great piece of old news - thing is the NTS does not go near portland and someone will have to stump up for a pipeline in SGN's territory and at who's expense??

Icecat, I think I have held the shares since it was formed in the 1770s - it certainly feels that long.Did'nt get the 10p rise but happy with 8.8p - more to come next week!

My only complaint here is the loss of IG TV at 730 am with Jeremy Naylor - he was their best and most knowledgeable presenter and has been axed! No doubt he is trading somewhere and making himself a fortune! Cost cutting can go too far!

I have more faith in UKOG hitting its targets than labour hitting its net zero targets where their 2030 target is impossible. Ukog is marginally ahead of labour on credibility but that says nothing. Good luck all.

All the time BT have a huge pension fund in tow they will be protected from takeover , unless a company like phnx want to buy that fund. This really is a pension fund investment with telecomms on the side - just look at the numbers.
