Looks like Liz Truss has Pedigree too! Fingers crossed she will help businesses too with the rising energy costs, as well as home owners who may prefer to turn their own heating low and go down the pub to use theirs!

Fingers crossed we will see a return for shareholder value. Perhaps Liz Truss should make the UK Govt a buyer and then they will not only make some money on taxable income (where it is due if any) but on shareholder divis too! There you are we have solved the crises in one. Perhaps they should also encourage the oil producers to expand into the North Sea too rather than what has happened in the past few years where they have been discouraged.
To be honest I cannot see too many other sectors providing a profitable income at the moment.

Lizz if you are listening perhaps you should also buy in to the Oil Companies and as a shareholder the Uk govt, will raise more revenue from divis!

Most of their sales and income for Capricorn is outside of the Uk (as they produce oil in Asia/India/Africa and other parts of the World where they hope to grow (S.America).
However the same will not apply for the likes of the big boys such as Shell and BP who come out into the Uk from the North sea! Even more reason to see this as a buy for them too or as a take over target!!

The World oil price does affect our profits however and we should ahead very positively, especially as today the Saudis have announced cuts with OPEC to help stabilize the recent falls in the oil price and to keep it high!

Liz will not discourage big Oil Comps to leave the Uk ( as even Shell have announced they are moving their Head office to the Uk to avoid their Dutch tax's in the EU. The Uk govt gets more tax's anyway from the producers in the Uk on their bumper profits which many seem to have missed. She has said she actually intends to reduce taxes and vat which will make Oil as well as everything else cheaper in price whilst reducing inflation. If the economy can grow to produce more inflation will become less. She also wants to encourage work and therefore still feels we are not at full employment and like everyone else we need to give her a chance before taking a view!

Or Liz Trust -is putting some 50p's in the meter whilst also lowering VAT and energy bills to be capped for small businesses? To be honest as everyone has said on here sale over done and someone sees this as a buying opportunity.

Euro cap on Rusky oil only, plus us jobs favouring a more dovish as opposed to all out hawkish Fed should bring stocks back and make the market sentiment return. I see Tullow Oil (the producer) already responding and Capricorn should respond later too with their interim results due out Tuesday on what has been a very good year for oil producers profits. GLA

Tuesday results will be good. US jobs report may be text book Fed stuff for being more dovish than hawkish i.e. Lower rate increses than anticipated will help market come back? Plus Oil price responds now back up to 95USD a Barrel will help here long run. Tullow now also responding! What better place can there be than Oil producers at the moment? GLA.

Think about it. Capricorn release their results in 2 working days on Tuesday & no one expects them to be anything but better than v.good)and Tullow expect to be the main beneficiary going forward. They also are due to release their own results and to prove to Legal and General and the other main share holders of Capricorn to get shareholder approval from the major shareholders of both Companies their own results are going to be better than good. I am simply glad I am invested in both for peace of mind. There is now way I can either Company releasing bad results in my opinion whether market driven prices have caused them to be so good, or even for political reasons.

Fact is this Oil producer must have improvement on what was advised in the past 2 yrs on the price of oil alone! Suppose the fact we are up today when virtually everything else is down speaks for itself. Surprised Tullow is down today (although only slightly) as they hope to be the main beneficiary of the good news expected here, but in all likelihood as others have said on here we are likely to be involved in a fight off for the Company, and it will no doubt want to stay alone to make the most of the reliance on its assets and certainly it has Africa, Asia and Europe all wanting its resources whilst the EU cap their reliance on past Rusky oil. Pretty sure the big boys will see that too for the potential.

When L&G and the other major shareholders of Capricorn said they did not approve the deal with Tullow in fact the share price has risen by over 10%. They all feel Capricorn is better served on its own. However they may also know a takeover is in the offing as they will also be major shareholders in BP/Shell etc. Large fund managers are generally quite reliable with their forecasts longer term. Still until then we should expect some very significant results here on the oil price alone. The price of a barrel was under USD25 in April 2020 now Usd96 (todays price) so be prepared to be amazed!

Most like we will be moving back up towards £1 -fingers on the pulse and not crossed!

Does anyone really expect (with the price of Oil/Gas being so high for months and still high -lets face it) that the results are going to be anything other than fantastic. Great time to buy some more in my opinion. Like Tullow expect another suitor to come after them soon too. The big boys will have found a way to offset tax on profits by buying up the small boys I am sure! Keep watching!

At this price see a strong buy and I will top up. Results in two weeks and even with todays reduction in raw commodity price see the levels three times higher than they were in the pandemic! Results must be good? Suspect the Capricorn takeover is off if their own shareholders have their way, however this leaves Tullow exposed in its smaller entity for an outright bid from one of the big boys in the pond, especially as those same big boys can find a way of reducing their taxes due on their own massive profits!

Can't see Brent crude reducing for a while yet. Dollar has been strong for a while and will start reducing soon especially if we get a dovish Fed statement at Jackson. Also the shackles could come off if the shareholder sentiment has the effect of cancelling the Tullow Oil take over proposal. I see more positive vibes here than negative. Lets face it does anyone really expect the results due soon to be negative, the oil price rises over the past few months are going to make a very positive back drop I am sure.

I don't think I will be selling this share in fact might join the ranks of the US banks who own 5% of preference shares in Marston's and this by the way Mars 321p is up 9% today. Pretty sure it will not be long before we have a suitor after Marston's here and it could even be Carlsberg (who knows) based on the fact they have recently announced increased beer sales!
This is just a waiting game for the starting gun in my opinion.

Don't understand the fall to be honest when Marston's on their last release said Beer sales were up due to the hot weather, and they had also hedged their Gas and already a contract in place for their electric so their costs are contained for this coming winter at least and into 2023.
Still see this 180 year old firm being under pressure soon to try and defend a t/over unless the Management soon release an updated trading "summer holiday statement" to reverse the sentiment. Foreign investors must see this as a snip!

Must be tempting for a number of Large cash rich Companies at the moment particularly from the USA with the currency rate being what it is tonight to see a share price so cheap for a British Company with so much history and tradition when also considering a very cheap purchase for a large number of properties too. I would expect to see an approach very soon when we are now at 41p even the GBP debt will be cheap for an American company to pay off!

I wonder if overseas investors see this share as a great opportunity given the recent boost in profits, as anyone investing now from USD to GBP might also get a benefit from the BOE if they increase rates? Maybe like at open we will rise a few pence? If not we will have a handsome divi coming -so I'm happy for growth or income longer term. GLA.

Futures up too - on the back of the US Stocks rising in late trade. Great results seen recently for Aviva too, no doubt many trading in their old diesels for much more expensive new electric cars that are most probably also more expensive to insure on their purchase price? Lots to look forward to keep confident.
Extra premium income expected longer term as rates rise which - will also help their own investment income. GLA.
