I expect to quadruple my profits on this one- no one should be looking at this on a five minute by five minute basis. Perhaps consider taking out ones Oil share profits now as these will not last for ever!! Common sense dictates to me this Company has survived the worse and is coming out the other side. Many other cheap shares out there too, especially so to foreign investors where GBP is so low they can buy even cheaper. Likely take over target here too! DYOR!!

When down 7-8% great time to buy. Just wish the Chancellor pulls his fingers out and here is a suggestion for growth. VAT cut and incentives for energy saving pub chains, and communities pubs (especially those laying on rechargeable facilities/ or electric delivery lorries, and / or where locals can turn down their home heating whilst out for a few beers!

Last time I looked GBP up against USD and the Dow was up? Perhaps a recovery is starting to gain momentum or we have foreign investors seeking bargains from their home currency?

CEO Said yesterday "Marston's is in good shape and well positioned to navigate the future." -so it looks like today traders are taking yesterdays profits and will be back later, or dealers are trying to keep momentum away. Sometimes they also show a low price when there is a shortage of stock and they encourage sales. So my gut is this is a strong buy. Lucky enough most of my other current buys are doing really well. The tide will change and GBP is up surprisingly against the USD-however I am pretty sure Marston's their crops in store already as they seem sensible on costs. GLA

Just bought some more. If we are back to 2019 levels and if the words suggest they would have been even better if we had not had Omicron last Christmas, then I am more than happy and we are in a far better position than we were and far better than most. Great share for the Pension fund managers to buy and one which should give better returns going forward than bonds which have a limited value in percentage gains as we should start soon start moving up! IMHO.

Where Capricorn already hold 6 licensed locations in the North Sea (One spudded) we await their formal decision to the drilling at the other 5 locations where they have promised a report to shareholders soon and we could find they are in a very good position to take up the UK Govt's offer of additional licenses for growth/expansion in the North sea. Fingers crossed for some even better news soon on expansion and of the merger recently announced to Israeli Gas fields.

With an instant 30p plus profit per share here the only ones writing take cash and run are those who want to become shareholders at a cheaper price.
I can also see many longer term benefits here for the Company going into one of the largest Gas reserves in the World at a time of high Gas prices. This must be one of the best buys at the moment and NOT for sale. IMHO.

Last night Panarama with bad press on Drax must highlight the need for waste products to be burnt' for power, and Esken do that very thing with it all coming from Building sites, and other waste outlets so we are told. I also see extension to travel from Southend where the same restrictions to over capacity do not apply and even the RAF have been looking at Southend for some use recently perhaps a good defensive position is found to protect the City from the Eastern flank?

The market appeared to like the sound of the Tullow/Capricorn deal, but now we have what appears to be a higher priced deal with some longer term financial security, but have we seen the end of this yet? i.e. The CEO/Chairman were talking of two parties coming forward with discussions and we have heard of one? is there another deal offer out there or perhaps Tullow could join the party too? who knows but I have a feeling we have not yet seen the ending of this offer and discussions regarding the Oil producers where big fish are out there waiting to do their own deals. In my mind I would like to see Harbour energy come to the party too to give the FTSE Oil producers some consolidation rather than to bring in foreign markets.

It is reported suddenly Capricorn are Catapulted into a 45% SHARE of one of the most attractive Gas reserves in the World. Maybe they should change their name to "Catapult energy" for the guaranteed future income? ....

TEXT on TV have a price for Capricorn after 5.00pm up over 5% in fact one if not the highest moving share on the FTSE 350. I see at 4.30pm some late entries were put through from earlier in the day (on timing) whereas some after 4.30 are at a higher price, and as the mkt closes at 4.30pm there could be a given a false figure in the books and tomorrow we should see fresh gains, especially if this hits the Evening Standard and other papers tonight. I also notice even though HL have given a general release to investors on their web. they have not yet updated Capricorn on the individual Company news releases and with the news becoming more attractive with the better offer for shareholders this may have an impact later. Hi EC-Yes agree but I can also for see a good fit with Harbour Energy here too to make a World Wide UK Company. i.e. North sea, plus all of Capricorn interests in Asia and Egypt/Israel, etc. A real Combo of interests!
Plus agree Tullow will no doubt come back with an increased offer. i.e. the fact we have not yet heard from them suggests they are talking to their backers as we speak! Great share to buy right now in my opinion!

From what I have seen Tullow made an offer, but now a far better offer has been made by Israeli and Egyptian backers to beat the Tullow bid. Shareholders from Capricorn still need to give formal approval. Provisional figs have been worked out but this still does not have formal approval. In the meantime further bids can come in and or another counter bid from Tullow who lets face it must feel thy need to up their own offer to save face. In my view this price is now underpinned and a way to make a good investment on price alone at the moment! GLA but DYOR.

Sharecast just announced the new divi alone if approved by shareholders is going to be £2.72 a share so to me at this price before we see a counter offer from Tullow their bankers or any of the big boys this has got to be a steal
at £2.54 -happy days. Once this hits H&L and other brokers I am sure they will send out todays news too before the evening standard!

Share price equivalent of £2.71 and a big cash special divi to come all looks good to me. Great idea too from the Board for once. I have a feeling due to the long stop suggested date that they also expect other suitors to join the party and so I have a feeling what with the big bankers behind this deal too we may not have yet seen the end of this and the price is likely to go far further longer term or if anyone else or if Tullow find another partner to come back and counter offer? Very good news either way and interesting time for all Capricorn shareholders short and long term. GLA.

If their identity is American and they are to get an uptick in the value of the USD on Thursday from the Fed I wonder if they will move on Friday to formally identify themselves? Capricorn apart from advising shareholder of the additional interest have not told us anything else?

Apart from Tullow we know have put their offer out for taking over Capricorn we know from the last Management release that two other parties are interested? Do we know when we will be told of their identity and counter offer to the Tullow one?

Capricorn up too, perhaps we will respond later as our friends on the other side of the pond will see us looking cheap when looking at the USD Vrs GBP balance now on paper! GLA -Fingers crossed for some more news o the takeover of Capricorn and no doubt suggestions being raised on Tullow too? I can see both going at the same time to a foreign investor soon. IMHO.

Buys here seems to be against the rest of the market which is interesting! Perhaps some news will find us soon on the take over or it is just the price of oil is going up, and with the Usd going higher our earnings will be great still going forward? However it is good to be here against the rest of the FTSE all share index!

Seems Oil price rising again. Longer term Tullow commented on raised free cash from revenue, and reduced hedging to run net whilst Oil price remains high = increased net profit.
Surprised actually - perhaps the Truss growth strategy is looked upon favourably by the markets rather than the Feds fiscal call? Maybe the NYSE will be in a quick recovery mood his afternoon whilst buying up shareholder bargains that have fallen yesterday?
