Looks today like a safer bet here than the banks, but then that might help Wetherspoons some more - as I seem to remember they buy up the old ones, ha.ha.

Lots to look forward to it seems from what you have said here and from the releases on mines extensions and new ones at that with local govt.and central support. This share should do well and its off to a very good start today.

Agree from looking into the market makers today. Our big banks are Barclays currently down, Lloyds and Nat West unchanged from Friday. Not the bounce back many were hoping for who are into banks. Gold/Silver holding at higher levels. Suspect some are now writing in that chances are the Fed does not want to make a situation it might have created worse? The risks are now 50/50 as to whether they will even increase this week without more time investigating the costs if they do!! Certainly an interesting week this one.

Have a feeling there will be a back lash if they do put up by 0.5% even some say 0.25% in doubt. It would have been a whole lot cheaper for everyone to have got inflation down by sending in a UN Peace keeping force into Ukraine instead.
Seems everyone is out for as much as they can get out of this. I'm quite happy to keep it simple and wait for my Gold and Silver miners come back when post pandemic momentum picks up.

Where most priced in already 0.5% some now .25% at the most, wonder what will happen if no rate rise this week which is the safest call being honest until the Markets (well banks) sort themselves out!
Could be a good week for us in the end even if the Gold and Silver price treads water I am sure it will be held up on risk factors! Most miners will then benefit I am sure.

Hi Sotolo - long time no chat! I'm in as you know and have bene for some time the LSE Gold and Silver miners for some time, the only difference is my wife no has more. I am afraid i've seen this all before and when Banks say don't worry I do worry. Why else are they saying it? I can see Gold and Silver now pushing up and can see the Fed in a very difficult situation as they run the American economy on strong banks? Errh maybe they should do homework before any further rates rises, as many appear to be not straight working at all. Perhaps they are too greedy and are trying to gamble to make bigger bonuses. Full investigations needed into banks (there will be more I am sure) bit safer here in Gold/Silver
miners!!

Seems any sale here this morning over done and certain senior management have taken the opportunity to buy some more shares too. Divi release looks tame but the short term value here looks very good as share holders start to sue Credit Suisse for mis statements and I see things differently in that the risks might be spreading to Insurers as well as other third parties who may have been shall we say sailing very close to the wind. This sees Gold and Silver prices moving strong with the Fed watching over their shoulders too may mean putting the brakes of any talk of a 0.5% rise!! If not a .25% they may even skip the next one due to their minds being directed elsewhere? Perhaps? V.uncertain banking sector at the moment. Glad most Uk banks have reined in their exposures (so we are told).

Usually helps Marston's imported raw materials costs. (however they are hedged anyway). Looks like Fed will have to re-visit its rate hikes scenario too - so will help sentiment for UK GBP comps.

See this and bought this as a good long term buy as the World comes back post pandemic. Bio Mass profits a big side bonus to me. I will wait but see no need for Esken to sell anything especially S/end A/port unless bidders are willing to inject and develop it into a bigger International A/port which will help the local Essex area for jobs/expansion/etc. I did read that four parties were interested and so they will already be talking but they do not need to sell as they could be looking for partners or genuinely looking to expand operations. Star is doing very at other a/ports now too.

Wouldn't worry out of 1500, 61 is not a lot. No doubt he is buying more at less or is doing another deal using his brains? Very sharp accountants now running Marston we can see that from the last colourful update on their web!
Like the update idea re. the Regenerative Barley to be used with a deal with UK Farmers very much, as makes us less influenced by a rising dollar on any raw materials or ingredients!!

Great points BM. I also see today that Heathrow are being told to reduce costs/charges -perhaps the players would be better served with looking at alternative airfields such as S/end Rochford? All ready to go and a lot of prime land to purchase for additional warehousing ,etc. if not development.

Agree with you Karl as Unfairtrader gets confused once again. Ifc people have less money to go out they simply go down the local. As you say many see this as a regular trip and do not even refer this to going out. Many regard the local as their own home lets be honest! The other thing is if people have less money they are more liable to stay in the Uk than go abroad and the captive audience for Groups such as Marstons is increased over age yrs. Not withstanding to go against unfair trader again if people stay at home they will consume home beers such as Marstons and Carlsberg. His argument actually helps Marstons. I will add also that when people are feeling depressed or down they need a pick me up and for some that is going for a few beers with your mates, or family. Marstons appear to have all bases covered as well as now with the movement of people around the Uk for w/end sport Football/Rugby etc. that they have not had in recent years during the pandemic. So all round a very much recovery stock this. Shame he cannot see it with his negativity which is his only reliable thing - every time!

Agreed it must be a billion or two to create an International Airport from scratch (one with licences and close to London to)
with strong cargo facilities and infrastructure of fast roads (130 just built recently) and as you say its own main line station.
Also I seem to remember an announcement was made last year the RAF were looking at Southend Airport to determine its potential and we know Berkshire Hathaway like infrastructure projects too (under under Buffets guise) so I am sure there will be no lack on interest as the Aviation sector is showing green shoots.

I did hear from local news broadcast that four were interest in buying Southend Airport and we do know in this field some are very big operators -so all is not lost in my opinion.
Star operators also remember are working for some of the Uks largest operators now too and so this may well have fuelled interest. Lets see how this goes but any auction in price will be most welcome and deserved for long standing shareholders.
