Agree chaps -American Market are pleased with USA Inflation figs which could signal the Fed pausing on rates, Oil prices have fallen too over the past year which is no coincidental. Market sentiment is now a lot higher across the pond which will feed the Market. Also it can be seen now how the whole Pub Sector is picking up. Very much looking forward to Marston results due out very soon which should be at least as good as the others in my opinion for percentage gains. Suspect will be even better than "spoons" who have suffered as a result of train strikes, unlike local community pubs such as those that Marston run!

This share is as I reported previously being bought by Commercial Banks, Investment banks and fund managers. All see this as a growth sector and the results due out soon will not disappoint I am sure. This is the list of owners in the Company which speaks for itself as they know what to look for :-

This support is for most having what appears to be over ten million shares, some more! There is a reason for them buying, as they see this now as a safer investment based on recent releases with upside. I expect no difference this time around with the forthcoming release. GLA/DYOR.

With the warmer weather comes less spending on Fuel and Heating -but might bring out electric rechargeable cars that will find some of the Marston pubs as King Charles would say "most accommodating."

I see the Esken web has under Investors news and Esken Analyst research a note from Zeus Capital which feels any breakup of the business could reap shareholders tremendous dividends and they refer to a price equivalent of 24p? Perhaps that is why the CEO has referred to as much, although I have heard the opening up of new flights particularly Amsterdam was met with success?

I've been adding into this and a number of other Entertainment and Travel sector shares for sometime. As well as the Gold and Silver miners. This is one that I hope has great potential for the next 2 to 3 years. I expect us to be back at 120p a share within 2 years. If we do have a stalking horse it could be almost immediately. The next announcement will be just a step up as you say, but an interesting Barometer to gauge against the sector. So far I see Marston as one of the better of the sector performers on what we have seen, and for the Coronation in the UK this w/end and the share price even if 37p is not exactly a Kings Ransom!! GLA. Fingers crossed for the Sun to come out!

Merchant banks buy shares for clients interested in takeovers to build a stake before sudden price rises when it the formal notifications are released or there is a leak.
They also as well some of the largest investors on the market (i.e. Pension fund managers) invest in a diverse range of listed and unlisted shares depending on their clients risk factors. Obviously he higher the risk the higher the rewards or no rewards. For my pension funds told by one of the Worlds largest Pension funds to take some risk for a better return - so that tells you something. So mine is biased towards a higher risk. This share is no doubt attractive from that point of view as it has fallen so much I would suggest less risk (on increasing sales numbers and return to profit with reduced debt) and a likelihood for a better than fair return (post Pandemic which was the reason for the fall). The question for me and no doubt fund managers is will Marston on increasing profits start paying a dividend, reduce debt further or buy back shares? At the moment I do not need the extra income from Divis and would prefer a buy back to increase the share price back up to previously seen levels. We will then re join the FTSE 350 from the All share index.GLA, DYOR.

They will be far better than the past 2 years -obviously.
The Board have been advising increased numbers -whilst some pubs a month or two ago reported they had run out of Beer?
Last time I looked no institution was holding shorts and they will be turning long in 2 weeks!
The Coronation will help add additional numbers too as will the new beer and lager sales!

Like-for-like sales for the 16-week period to 21 January 2023 were +12.9% vs. FY2022, including the
impact of the Omicron variant in December and January last financial year. Like-for-like sales in the
first eight weeks of the 16-week period to 26 November 2022 were +6.8% as previously reported, with
encouraging trading momentum continuing into the festive period. In the following eight weeks like for-like sales were +19.2% vs FY2022. So as I said previously momentum is building - 2 weeks time we will know far more as the sun comes out!

Last message from our CEO refers to sales increasing 17% on last year and I now expect far more, against the negative views of a few on here. So lets see very soon what they now bring us and who is right whether a strong buy or sale recommendation from those that want a lower entry point -perhaps.
The whole sector here is picking up now and likely to pick up even more as the sun starts to shine, whilst reducing Pub energy costs for heating and wood for the burners,, etc. GLA.

Most moaners on here complain about debt and yet they also complain when the Company is selling some to reduce it!
The CEO is an accountant and new to the team and appears to be presenting well for shareholders. Regret many on here are not that is obvious. The Board announced increased sales for the group and we know home sales have been increasing too. We now await the 1st qtr update which will be a further improvement in the numbers. However the regular moaners on here will never be happy what ever is said but Pension funds might be, as well as any stalking horse who would prefer no doubt to buy a smaller entity than over 1400 pubs. Which is a lot lets be honest. DYOR and read the last release! IMHO.

Must admit have seen some large competitive buys going on today 50,000, 20,000, 13,000 etc.etc. Morning star is a good source if not your own broker!
Why would anyone want to sell a Company at this price when the most recent releases have shown such increased sales figs is beyond me!
If someone does come in for Marston most people will be too late to gain a late entry at these silly low prices! Seen it all before and then all they do is to moan that they should have bought earlier after missing the boat.

Must say the Silverstream increase of 84% certainly looks better to me! One gets the impression in fact what with more facilities coming on stream in the year the results are actually being played down?

What with uncertainly remaining on some World banks and the ability to raise rates, Gold and Silver could also see an extended run?

Remind me what price is Whitbread for a GBP375M profit vs Marston's share price for an updated prelims due out very soon.
To compare we are only expected to make a GBP3.75m profit for a 1% of comparison value on current share price? Pretty sure we will exceed that by some margin.
Very good value here -although to be fair I am a Whitbread shareholder as well and did rather well today.
I am not M&B however who appear to me to be far less productive in profit per share. DYOR and IMHO.

Which might well be why Whitbread and or any other Company can come in here to takeover one that has turned around and is now making profits!
The misjudged statements are from those without a broader vision - still everyone to their own! Just that some on here do not see that negative comments can bring around positive change!

KT-I would feel the Directors might start buying in here first, as well as some market pension growth schemes driven by sector growth. If Whitbread are used as a barometer we should follow the market consensus. The fact in a similar way Marston have already declared they are profit making again is true to what Whitbread have said previously and today.
If a takeover is to happen we should expect hearing something soon as no doubt if any stalking horse waits the price here will rise after the next sales results are released, which should be a lot better on a sector returning post pandemic. We will start to become a very interesting share here soon I am sure.

As I said the the other day this sector is recovering fast post pandemic. I see Whitbread on the back of results is top of the shop today, but many will see this as a trend for a recovering sector! Pick up a bargain here whilst you can! IMHO and DYOR.
As Marston turned to profit last year (like Whitbread) we could see a similar return to form here. Maybe in line the BOD can soon release the Marston's results. I wonder if the BOD will be buying options soon?

Well the CEO will not be issuing Public statements he knows to be untrue would he really?

He also said that he is at advanced talks with major parties interested in extending their flights.

Official statements from the Compony have to be approved by their legal team and the accountants. I remember reading that the Company is now making good profits and sales are being increased to be over GBP2B or twice that of debt.
It is true if the sales figures keep improving we expect to see another approach very soon. What we do need is to release an updated and continuing growth platform and I expect this to follow soon. The govt. has helped with reduced tax on draft beer produced and with P&M being fully tax deductible. I expect results to be good and follow Whitbread return to form. They will be only selling pubs that they feel are better served by someone else again to reduce costs/ debt and increase profitability. Good sound decision making.
