I see Marson have announced they will be issuing a trading update statement on 26th July (just after all the directors have been buying shares?). This is apparently for the 42 weeks trading up until 22nd July 2023. Appears interesting for an odd period but a period that by tradition brings in strong warmer weather sales? Unless there is something else they want to tell us? DYOR and GLA.

I see real value here and a quick expansion in Southend Airport as it now continues adding routes. Southend Echo has almost a daily coverage in excitement. I have seen this morning yet another route has been added which is to Geneva in Switzerland. They already have recently added Paris and Amsterdam with success, whilst offering trips to the sunnier holiday destinations. As I understand it other destinations are being lined up too (shortly to follow). The Bio mass Company adds revenue but to me real long term value is with the Airport and its infrastructure / location. My broker has this as a value of 12p a share so still a great buy whilst it returns to form. DYOR. GLA.

Important week and month for discussion. With job no's and inflation in focus and within the next month now we will see if a pick up in production for Fresnillo has born fruit, as results are due soon. The last words from Management at least gave some optimism, and over the year precious metals are now up on where they were, and I looked this morning to see Gold prices are up 5% for the year and Silver is up a whopping 13.55%. Which will help the Worlds largest Silver miner a great platform to spring up from as well as the other miners with high Silver production such as Hoch. I agree however that Centamin are a solid quality Gold producer.

Classic Porsche not sure you are right TBH. My broker is the largest UK bank and one of the largest in Europe/ The World. They hold Esken themselves and rate it with a value of 12p a share (as of last week). So to me it is a share to put on my risk side, and wait and see. Out of 3 market makers 2 have it as Strong buy and I as a buy - none have this as a sale? So for me a risk worth taking supported by my broker comments. Time will tell if they are right I suppose but I am in no rush. This share does also have a large number of corporate investors Morning star will list for you their indentity.

Erhh Yes it seems some do not read what comments are said by the senior management either - who said that for Marston the sales figures are always better for the 2nd half when the weather improves. However they were still up on last year over winter in any event.

The only agenda here is for those who want a lower entry point hence the negativity. However this actually helps me too as I can buy some more. When an NPV has bene uplifted one would be mad to sell!!

TruthF - you want to study Wiki to find more of the history for Esken as it exists today. No relevance to us here in the new Company formed. However you will be interested in the other interests Esken have and how there recent statements from the Esken web indicate how they intend to return to the main index after the Bio Mass and Airport considerations and offers (if any). Southend Echo has picked up on reports in travel weekly of discussion for 2024 Balkan Holidays will include flights from Southend Airport to Bourgas in Bulgaria for the first time.

Agreed Directors have bought under stock market rules and at the first opportunity after the official results release. It would have been against the rules to have done so within the set periods (from memory 28 days) before and after.

They know, as we all do what the official accountants audited reports have said with the share price NPV being calculated at 96p. So this share is a bargain per audited / released accounts and highly likely to raise interest from Worldwide investors and Comps. GLA.

Not surprised (so have I) the share is cheap when the latest accountants report says what the share price NPV is (I need reminding but was that 96p?) So an offer of £1.06 was not much of a premium on the accountants valuation. Goodwill will have a value on a Company that has been running for over 100 years too!

As less competition is out there now too the value of survivors such as Marston will go up in time, as sales improve and the Management already know this. GLA.

Interesting - Well it is good to see plane spotters enjoying themselves at least!! Or at last!! Shows more traffic "ex-flight" and either way it is better to have it safer and the boundaries established.

I am surprised in fact they had any areas unfenced -but there you go. RAF will be pleased too.

Inflation appears to be settling down lower short term, no one knows if that will continue. However most expect a peak soon if it has not already been found. With lower inflation comes lower rates and this will help growth.

Funny thing is with Alcohol sales when people feel depressed they can relax or some would say drown their sorrows to relieve stress. So for pubs when people feel down the Alcohol sales could increase. Everyone can have their own opinion but even my man from the Pru said if you do not take risk you will not make money. Speculate to accumulate. Sometimes one has to wait for a while for an asset to be worth more. I see a good opportunity here but every investment can have risk, so one could have a spread over a range. Good luck all whatever your choice.

I see the Southend Echo is reporting that the Airport is fencing off larger areas of land which it owns and which are currently unfenced and so are in effect extending their outer fenced boundaries. Maybe parties interested in the Airport want to see more of the actual extend of the land owned and it appears after survey that they have more than it first appeared? Interesting!

Suppose can't blame them for giving drink sales particularly their Ales priority over food - if they see this as more profitable in the warmer weather? i.e. It doesn't take many pints of beer today to cover the cost of a meal? What is the price of a pint compared to a meal? Pints are quicker to sell than cooking meals too? Perhaps they are concentrating the labour force to make hay whilst the sun shines towards the end of an evening to boost quick sales? Next sales figs will tell us more I am sure. GLA.

I still have optimism. The results were for the year ended 28th February 2023. We know for the summer and future winter Flights are being increased. We also know Easy jet are talking about increasing the routes. They have found a buyer for the Bio mass unit. We also can see they are tendering the Airport at Southend later as revenues are increasing? J P Morgan buy in and increase their share? I wonder if they know how much the goodwill is worth? Esken talk about clearing debt and entering the main market? I see revenues increasing 15% (hopefully more from Feb 23) and debt reduced by 10%. I will stay in here and hope with fingers crossed for more growth before any sale!

I see great news coming out from the Company regarding return of flights, and new routes and ambitions for the future. There are also no shorts registered which is another good sign.

I see the share price being volatile "only" due to the low price - which makes any movement of sale and or purchase having an effect, and a great opportunity to buy some more.

I see this as an opportunity if the news is good, as many brokers will.

Patience and not panic is the key to me. Keep cool and lets see what happens Wednesday.

The only news I have seen that is official has been good, if there is any bad news and we have been misled then then the BOD will be liable and so I very much doubt it. For the Airport even local Councillors have been speaking of how the Company is returning to form.

Yes any sale will need a buyer, and could be some tactical re-investment with one taking a loss for this tax year, before buying back early next week in a another Company name to sell into another tax year longer term, or changing the Company into which they wish the shares to be purchased? The news has been getting better - so I have no other explanation as even Short Interest Tracker has no record of any short on Esken at all. I am not surprised as if the results show an upswing and of increased Sentiment/Growth (which seems likely from what the Southend Echo and Yahoo have been saying in interviews with the CEO ). No short now held on the old Company names Stobart or Eddie Stobart as expected either.

Very tempted to buy some more here at these silly low prices. As has been said on here that if the Company had a big problem then they would not have a confirmed date for the annual accounts release statement. They would would have been seeking extra time and the annual figs would have been delayed! Not so in this case where invitations have gone out for attendance.

I read they were hoping to get back also the ever so popular (well their most popular flights to Jersey. I hope this has been signed up as well as other Euro Capital Cities which was the route they have recently been taking to join Paris and Amsterdam. Any investment in plant now fully off settable too. local Govt. in favour of S/end expansion too which helps! GLA.
