Hi Fanky I respect your views to be honest, but my worry is a political one in that if the GOT see results from being difficult with Aca they could play the same card again with Shanta. However if Shanta are any good and producing they might even get eaten up by Barrick? so its as you say a very much 50/50 gable. I'd rather be in for the moment in CEY where they have no funding issues.no debts and have just found better Gold reserves in Egypt. They also have a new mine under wraps so I'm told? So lots of upside in that share for me at the moment.

I have just bought another batch here as I see the good production results, increasing Gold price now up to 1432oz and rising, plus what you have said a dovish ECB and also a dovish fed lets be honest as reasons Gold will run higher for a while yet.
For me I see this share as the moment as my natural longer term Acacia replacement.

Just bought some more CEY -Centamin. Very good production report and what's more new Gold finds and the quality of the Gold being mined is now of a very good quality. I see this for myself as my natural successor to Acacia. However I will still hold Acacia as I still feel we have a lot more room to move up here. Gold up now to 1432oz which will help both of my Companies. All the best of luck chaps.

I'd say stick with what you know chaps. This baby will still keep rising in the current climate. So will the other miners as I say I also hold CEY which has a very positive recent announcement. No debt, No hedging and now a higher grade of Gold with many new discoveries worth a look.
I am sorry you lost on Metro Bank but I am afraid the margins are just not there and the likelihood is they will get worse, i'd get out on any profit and stick with the miners. I lost yesterday on Marstons on last years sales due to bad weather but my feeling is due to this years current good weather then sales are going to improve big time. So I will stick with them or even top up if they continue to slide.

I see a trend here in Marston announcements being over cautious and playing down figures. They always work in areas with their sales figures and if they were only up 0.5% due to poor weather what will they be today for the current live quarter? I see next quarters announcement being a lot more positive. I also like the fact they are lowering their debt to free up and use free cash to their own benefit. This will also help us as shareholders. So not all bad and some very positive signs to me.

I think if they are especially from the other side of the pond they can see various benefits coming in here, especially with the currency play and if the Fed is to reduce rates.
Also as the G.O.T. are in favour of the Barrick takeover they will not now play the hard ball tactics, and we may get some more good news here very soon. We are creeping up and our price is underpinned. We could out our money in worst places!! I am sticking and watching everyday my investment growing. One of my stock allocations is well into profit now.

Can you believe now have increased their shareholding to be well over 7%? Interesting they see this as a great investment.

I see this an encouragement for the Gold price. i.e. It is not as if we will be now in a stable environment. I bet the europeans are very afraid. orsi will forge a very close relationship with Trump and I see Nigel Farage joining him soon too. Gold and Silver could do very well here. If the Chinese want to deal with Acacia they have no choice but to come in soon. they will not get a better deal out of Barrick because the share price is bound to rise after the signed deal as all bans will be lifted. The only chance the Chinese have to get a better deal is to do one now with Acacia.

I see The Citizen are not reporting at the moment on Barrick or Acacia, but sooner or later the G.O.T will have to speak out and I look forward to having business as usual in Tanzania with the export bans lifted. This will help us.

Agree Franky to sell now is too early what with the price we have here short of the offer price, £232 - £240 plus with the divis for the exploration, etc. I would like the export ban now lifted, and what with not only the Fed, but with Sterling likely to fall further as the Conservatives are likely to start infighting and all that silly business and what with the chancellor threatening to resign any dollar earning share sch as Acacia should do well. We also are now linked to the Barrick price and that will pull us higher if sterling falls.

They see this as a share that can rise in price in the months before the takeover I am sure. I can see this as well as stated early this morning. This week if the Fed cuts rates it will be the start, and if the Barrick price rises then so will we. I will be sticking here for a whole yet and ,may even top up as we are still below the offer price.

I see the long time to obtain court approval for Barrick to buy us an excellent opportunity for the GOT to show how loyal to them they are and to drop the export ban and allow all three mines to be fully operational. In this way we can see that they were right when they said that they would not deal with Acacia and will only deal with Barrick. Perhaps then we will attract interest from other Companies and our share price will rise further.
However if the Fed do cut rates later in the week (perhaps Tuesday) then the Gold price will rise and so will Barrick and as we are now linked to their share price so will we..
I may even buy some more shares here to be honest as this is now a safer bet what with the price under pinned.
I remember when the Japanese Company I worked for sold by a part V11 transfer some assets to a foreign Company it took months to obtain a Court slot to be heard. Time is on our side - happy days!!

Not sure BB from memory if you are in the same boat as me. They offered me a day trading account a few years ago but I voted against it, I am sure I can get them to take them on for me if I kept my Barricks, and to be honest you are quite right it would make a very good hedge against our own Govt who cannot decide on which way they want to go, and who with which will sink sterling.
I have enjoyed the team work here and we all know each other quite well. It has been fun and kept me occupied in my early retirement years. Maybe we can move on to another Company when we decide on which one needs our help!!

Must still be a strong buy - the offer price is higher, the Gold price is still rising which will help the Barrick share price and our price stock move even higher and we are still open to offers. The court case will take a while to process (maybe a few months) and therefore no panic Parf. to sell in the next couple of days. The court might actually say Super is not so stupid and we cannot agree to the sale at less than asset cost-who knows? They might also say certain LSE rules have been broken here too? who knows. However I would now like to see the G.O.T release the poor devils in prison. lift the export ban on the composite, and withdraw the notices in good faith, still a lot of good could come out of this.

As usual Stock ABC calls everyone else stupid and only appears here when there is a sudden change he feels for the worse. What he doesn't realise is that I do not put all of my eggs in the same basket and the other miners have also risen today, as they have been for the past few weeks.
Also the fact that the G.O.T may lift the export ban and this will help us whatever the offer from Barrick is. Also we may hear from our Easterns friends or anyone else for that matter that wants to make a counter offer and take a chance at these prices. We also have to consider that offer still has to gain court approval which may mean a due diligence being conducted. I remember one of your posts of wisdom Stock ABC where you mentioned "as soon as this share reaches £1.50 i will buy some more" -well in that case if you did the work of the boarders here has helped you make a handsome profit-so don't knock it.

I would be very interested in what happens here as I am sure the fund managers will have something to say, and out of my four large allocations only one is in profit at the price being offered.
The offer to me appears to be a lot cheaper than I was expecting (even with the GOT who also have signed contracts previously with Acacia being as difficult as can be to get the deal agreed). We have received less than when I bought originally and I wonder if the Companies are Insured for political risk which has caused my loss?

There is being developed new tyres made with no tube, etc, they might survive even if not a "Goodyear!!""" ha,ha.

Agree with you Dimi re Copper too. I did have Kaz for a while. Antofagasta I also held I think they were the biggest Copper miner at one time. Mind you for the FTSE I had once Acacia down as one of the biggest Gold miners, Hochschild Silver aswell.

Also what with the pound falling recently we will become cheaper for our foreign friends when they are importing our beers.

I see more than one reason for us to move higher.
