If I am forced to accept Barrick shares and I don't expect that we will get to that stage anyway then I will have to think of other options or even move those shares into a day trading account. From what I hear the minority shareholders are not happy at all and nor are the fund Managers as they will lose another Uk listed gold miner. The deal at the moment is dead in the water. If the Sanctions are lifted for Barrick then I want a part of the action. I do not see why I should accept a discounted price as currently shown in world markets. I have already suffered to a reduction to the current levels.
I see no problem with Barrick consultancy Tanzania running the shop until there is a change of govt. The Gold mines will be there after the change of Govt and so we are just at a juncture in time.

Facts are the offer is not acceptable in price. Barrick are using the situation to their advantage with no legal basis. If the minority shareholders refuse to sell they cannot continue to buy us and will have to do as I say run the Company themselves or pay more. I do not know what they have agreed with the GOT but they clearly have said quite a lot that cannot be fed back to us. However why should they benefit and not us the long suffering shareholders. If I was a farmer selling land I would say ok you can buy it at that price but if you develop it later I want a percentage of the future proceeds. That is what we should be getting. I cannot accept their shares in any case as my stockbroking account is not set up to take foreign Companies. I have never wanted a day trading account. What I have said I hope the other minority shareholders could benefit from and as such I have written with this suggestion already to Aca and to the Aca advisers. I hope it helps. I feel sorry for Talco and others he should not have been put in this situation, it is not his or our making.

I look t things differently to you BB. To satisfy the GOT and Barrick majority shareholding I am happy to let them (Barrick) run things out there, but I do not see any legal reason for me to sell my shareholding to enable them to do this. In fact if the GOT have told Barrick the will not talk with Acacia then Barrick are already in possession and control. If the Acacia management in London step to one side I see my share price rising and so I am happy to stick and not sell at all. Why would I want to sell if I see the political situation improving with Barrick running things? I would be mad to sell. I have not seen the fact that we have to sell, only that the GOT would prefer to deal with Barrick. This does not affect me at all who runs the Company. I have not seen a premium offer so I would prefer to stick. I have not affected the Management of the Company either so why should be punished by accepting a discounted share price? I see no legal need for me to sell. I hope the other minority shareholders also want the best for their shareholdings as I do not get taken in by the reasons given by Barrick for me to sell. i do not want Barrick shares either why would I. It is not as if they do not already have a majority shareholding and therefore if anything untoward happens it affects Barrick more than me, and so I would expect them to offer a premium to sell and if they were my price would have to be well into the £4.30 a share offer, or more. I do not see we have to accept the sale of shares and if I keep my shares this will not not affect the legal position at all. As Acacia said why don't we just hold. Barrick running? They are doing that already? The running of the Company and the ownership are two seperate things and this is not in my mind a good enough reason to get my long term shareholding cheap.

My opinion is Ok Barrick you feel you can run in Tanzania go ahead. We will hold our shares and like you will reap the rewards. I do not see the need to sell our shares and will not stand in your way if you wish to run the local operation. We will be proper English Gentlemen and hold open the door for you to help us. in exchange for this gentlemanly gesture you can also keep your own shares. I do not see that we need to sell, the operating Company and ownership can be/are two different things. We can be sleeping partners. If you do want to buy our shares and reap all of the post agreement rewards we can write in a sign on commission or will only accept a premium for the sale. Otherwise we will fight!!

VV-Quite right and I believe we are entitled to conduct a discovery and due diligence on the correspondence between Barrick and the GOT especially if we do go to court. As I say in my own opinion they have just done us one hell of a favour. They feel we are afraid of going to arbitration and I am sure they are very wrong. our lawyers will get great heart out of this latest release.

If the offer is no good as I have said both are restricting our practices and contracts in place. The Lawyers will become very rich and the is the only outcome I forsee. We will lose short term but must gain massively from international Arbitration long term.
Again the timing from the GOT is perfect for Barrick and so we see them working closely together. My earlier point in my mind exactly. All this only helps us in court.

As a long suffering shareholder who bought this share thinking it was a safe bet a few years ago at prices far in excess of £2,71 to begin with, I need more, or to stay as we are fighting the GOT, and so I will not be voting for £2.71.
I do not believe we have heard the end of this that's all I am saying, everyone here has predicted prices and they have never been proven to be correct. If a low ball offer is kept I can see us either litigating which might even be against Barrick and also the GOT. I feel we as owners have been treated very poorly by both and have not been kept informed of open conversation. If anyone has a restricted practices protective action it will be us as shareholders in my opinion worth far more than £2.71!!!

Chaps I hope you are not getting carried away here and falling down Rabbit warrens. I am keeping my eyes and options open. This has many permutations to go yet. We are not a one trick Pony. Our far eastern and other African friends, and even past Management could make a sudden return here. I always keep my eyes open and ears on, nothing surprises me at the moment. Even the minority shareholders could consider litigation, or the G.O.T could get fed up with the wait. I am waiting for something a little more concrete and we will not have too long to wait to then discuss our own options? We may be in for a pleasant surprise - that's life?

is. A Uk Company was involved in direct discussions with a foreign Govt, and this meant a Canadian or North American Company has to be placed in a situation of restrictive trade practices? If for all other reasons and all being equal trade for a Gold miner could take place as usual with Gold up, Reserves up, and Production up? What would happen to that Companies share price? How would an international arbitration court look at the situation where the key negotiator was trying to obtain a discount to buy out the same Company that it had told could not talk to the Government that it was in direct discussions with?

If Barrick were smart (for me the Jury is still out) then they should make their offer sooner rather than later because if the Fed does cut their rates the USD will fall and Acacia will become a whole lot dearer. As it is tonight Gold is still rising which help us, and Sterling is rising against the USD which does not help them.t

As Gold is still rising now 1417 oz we look cheaper by the day. Who knows what we will be worth in 8 days?

I see Wellington now at 2.67% and so the minority shareholders collectively have more than enough shares now to stop any stupid low ball offer.
My feeling for the Divis is this. We as shareholders have earnt our share of the profits the Company has made for the past performance. Barrick are buying the Company to go forward. If we do not get a premium in price we want out share of what the Company has produced in our ownership. They should be made to take this into account. My reasoning for Mentioning the starting in Kenya is that when the 1qtr figs and annual report was issued we were getting quotes in, if we can say we will start in the future this will add value. I do think deeper than my initial impression. Hold this helps us all who own shares.

The response from Barrick was muted and one of swallowing pride. Why wait for next week announce the divi on the increased reserves and production results and as a reward for the ;long suffering shareholders and financial institutions from Bank Cash, and also announce we are starting in Kenya to boost the share price so that when the discussions start we are at a higher level. I think the Federal reserve chairman may help us too as analysts still feel he will lower rates and this will boost Gold prices, and he is talking to congress later. Strong buy as you all say.

I have suggested to Acacia a value should be based on the current Gold price of 1400oz, and not 1300oz, also the fact that Sterling today sank to its lowest price in two years = we will earn even more in Usd when converted back into GBP. We should expect an insurers contribution for avoiding litigation, and that as the company has increased Gold reserves and increased production we should also have an additional amount paid for pur earned dividends!!. Why should Barick get these free!!.

After reading again i did see they referred to exploration risks, but based the price on Usd1300oz when we are closer to 1400 oz today, however they did not mention a contribution from Political risk insurers to avoid litigation, or the fact Sterling is falling against the dollar making our earnings rated in Usd increase in real terms. At least we should hopefully no start moving upwards.

As it is the current gold price is 1400oz, so the values are old and out of date. However hopefully the advisers have done this to help us get out of our current low range and we should hopefully now move up by another £1 at least. I also see no mention of a premium for Assets outside of Tanzania and any contribution from Insurers to avoid arbitration.

Thanks GH you are usually spot on!!! I suppose tactically f they do that it will stop (they feel) the momentum whilst the market is live as this thing could take off.

Perhaps someone is aware of the forthcoming bid or the players are now moving into place the daily chart is simply going vertical!!!! Fasten your seat belts chaps we may have lift off?
