Interest rates in the Uk could rise later, sterling is falling and helping us here at the moment. The Fed have not ruled out further rate cuts and their rate does now look very high compared to UK rates -lets be honest. The USD has been going up which is not what the Fed wanted and so I can see further Fed cuts (perhaps they should have cut by 0.5% afterall). I forsee Gold rising again very soon and my own feeling is it will stay above 1400oz for the time being with so much uncertainty. As you have also said Franky there are many out there who say Gold could rise significantly longer term. Good place to be here, I bet many who have left this share will wish they had stayed in. They also may have to come back in later at a higher price.

Crazy things is the hedge fund managers were probably like Trump hoping for a 0.5% cut, however as the Gov of the B.O.E -just said Sterling has fallen 6% since May. We are in a very good position here and my bank HSBC have told me that both my wife's and my own holdings are safe in that they will allow me to keep the Canadian shares in fact they appear to be advising me to keep them for longer as they also expect quite a large dividend be paid out for the other minority interests Acacia hold. I can see this perhaps worth up to 30% of the current share price. Meanwhile I am very happy today with my Capita and Stobart shares both coming back big time and as I have said on this board very good long term investments in my opinion.

Fed Chair Powell says the cut will encourage inflation and give the US economy confidence. I see this as a license to stay in Gold and especially Acacia Franky as you say a good place to be, most investment houses will think of Gold as a currency play and a hedge against rising inflation. A good indication for us.
He said the cut to insures against downside risks, weak global growth and to support inflation back to 2%-all good for Gold prices!!!! I'm hoping we stay above 1400oz and maybe overnight will move up to 1450oz?

I had a supporting letter from HSBC today and they are willing and able to allow me to keep my Barrick new shares being exchanged for my Acacia held, they also expect me to be paid additional dividends as well as the current share price and the whole transaction is likely to go through at the 4th qtr this year. With the extra divis I am now thinking I might even top up like JP Morgan have been doing, as this place is a good place to be at the moment. Especially if the Fed cuts going forward.

Centamin now producing as much Gold at 500,000, 0zs as Acacia whose share price is now £1 higher. Whilst I recently biught some more CEY recently my first batch I bought at £1.60 on a lower grade than what they now produce. I also see us hopefully moving past the £1.60 level and then on to £2.00 a share as other miners see us as a great target to purchase, What with no debt and no hedging required on Gold, the Fed could do us a big favour here today and tomorrow, and I am sure if they raise more than .25% , say 0.5% this thing will fly. Fingers crossed.

I have a feeling we are up today on the basis the BA pilots association have just won a court case to say they can strike and therefore Southend and Stobart airports might become busier where out of choice one would want to travel out of Southend rather than Gatwick or Heathrow or Stansted for that matter (if one can) out of choice.

Also saw Fidelity now have the largest share (after Barrick) now over 7% and still building as of yesterday.
Gold price now USD1431 an OZ and likely to go higher if Fed cuts as expected. Some are predicting if might be for more than the 1/4 point reduction? Time will tell later today and tomorrow.
Meanwhile my CEY -centamin rises substantially today as they now produce as much as Acacia.

Hi TT, yes sorry you are right I should have referred to CAD but sterling is falling against all currencies at the mo which is good for our earnings in international Companies. However the price I quoted was for ABX off morning star and it was up again to what I said being CAD22.63, on the NYSE i have them under USD17.21 up by about 0.88% -all good.
The way the Chinese are covering their options I can for see they may well come in here and talk further with Acacia if they are not already, as to me the granting of mining licences is significant. Lets see.

For Banks -I am in the big three but wish I was not. As soon as they break even for me I will be out of RBS and Lloyd's I might keep HSBC aa they more than likely will make more money from foreign business in the far east when GBP is so low. The same goes for the Prud.
However I would be very afraid of investing in any other at the moment. Boris means business but might lose a large number with no deal = less jobs, unsecured mortgages, bad loans, higher rates to support sterling, sound familiar? Why not stay in the miners CEY? HOCH? Or even the accountancy or lawyers firms? Or even Capita if it is felt more admin awaits in the wings?

I thought the minings news article very pertinent in that the G.O.T were also granting two Chinese Companies mining licences and this would mean they could buy and take over Acacia with the G.OT approval and with their new smetler solve the argument of what is in the composites in one hit. Very clever, which they are of course.

Just looked at Gold in GBP and can see the price is now up over 23% for the year. This will help the next figures released by Acacia and also anyone else out there wanting to come in and counter bid. However it will also make it cheaper for Barrick to buy us out.
Surprised no one else has picked up on the mining news article re. The Chinese in Tanzania per my earlier link.

Clearly if the Chinese are winning favours with the GOT by agreeing to build a smelter, (which will sort of the argument as to what is in the containers at the port) and which could then release that which is held, and what with the GOT agreeing to award two mining licenses to two Chinese firms it then makes sense for them to make a counter offer for Acacia.
Very clever dealings form our Eastern friends and a lesson to Barrick in how to deal with the GOT. Our share price will rocket back up to pre-dispute levels if they come in and given half the chance they will. Watch this space.

As I said earlier chaps an interesting few weeks. If this occurs then the composite ban could be lifted because there would be no need to export and therefore we can determine once and for all what was in the containers held. Are the Chinese now moving in favour with the G.O.T.?? See link :-

To give you a glue. Hey both of you did you see that Gareth Bale is being rumoured to go to China for £1m a week? It makes the likes of Alan Ball and Georgie Bests earnings in their day look pretty insignificant-doesn't it. I liked the look of their e-type Jags however.
I survive on my poor old Lloyds pension. Well not really my Father in Law passed away and I developed his land and we built a few houses. It was a shame after working so hard in London we fell out with each other and I made far more money outside. However it was good whilst it lasted and it paid a few bills. Now I earn more from shares that I did working and i enjoy what I do. Same for you too I suspect. ATB. I feel we have another chapter developing here in the next few weeks for the better I hope.

Morning star reckon worth over £2.000 they have surprised the market today by saying they are considering rolling out their Telegraph poles/masts worth umpteen millions/ or billions and so could be worth a punt. Also watch Marstons I'm only 10% down, having sold some at profit already, but who are they trying to kid sales only up 0.50% where we have the weather we have, sales fugs will work at least a qtr in areas, so again could be worth thinking about for the next announcement. All is not lost, sometimes I find you have to wait longer, I try and never sell on a loss, unless it is at the end of the tax year where I have to offset my gains if I am lucky. Good luck? Chpas you have picked up on my thoughts exactly that the supermarkets will only show their sale figures on current purchases for the warm weather in the next quarter so the figs quoted by Marstons are all old figures and not today's. I note the fact they were not taking credit for the current good weather only referring to the past poor weather -hence my feeling on the understatement. I see the next figs be very much better that the last. Long may the good weather continue. Oh by the way lucky devils getting your Marstons beers, my local COOP was completely sold out last weekend.

I have seen your points Gerry and well spotted, this is just what they need to do to build up the infrastructure so that if in time anyone does have plans for relaying the chance of some more international flights and relieving the pressure on the other big London airports they might be in a better place to do it. I was always sure the new A130 bypass was not built just to serve commuters from Southend to Chelmsford and vice versa. What was it that it cost £400m? I too see the true potential here. I also see another Thames crossing going across from Canvey sometime.

Looks like the recent bullish releases are having a positive effect. Maybe the share price can come back with some earnest.

I agree with Bond yields low, and what is pressure on rates everywhere and as you say on currency play this share looks cheap, particularly on the results when compared to other miners who have a far higher share price on less production and CEY is free from debt, or hedging as it does not need to. Now they have found a higher grade gold rather than what held them back before they can mine on reduced costs to make larger profits. If/When Acacia is lost from the ftse I see this share for fund managers as its natural replacement. I do not see any share at present that can replace Acacia apart from CEY?
