Reports are Carne may leave the BOE with a Bang and cut rates. Also the Fed is as you say under severe pressure to further cut. However my pointer to inflation is to the Uk in the future after Brexit. I am afraid I see goods coming in at a higher price and this will affect the prices consumers pay. I see inflation in the Uk rising and the Uk will actually then have to raise rates to counter the imported good prices. So longer term I see investment in the Uk banks that will have a greater margin on higher rates, but I will be less likely to buy house builders as their sales will be less as the price of money will be more in the Uk. However some builders like Telford who are primarily based in London will still sell as they are selling to foreigners who see the Uk as a cheap place to invest at the moment. My opinions of course.

BB-Barrick up now 4.20% Overnight many central banks were buying in to Gold, they will not have taken this step lightly. They see the trade wars getting worse both Trump and the Chinese Govt. will not lose face. I see this continuing for a while yet. Remember trade talks were only supposed to start between the two in September but at this rate what's the point?
My question is are we going to return to the £5-£7 a share levels we were approx 7 or more years ago? Luck Barrick for acquiring us on the cheap I wonder what the composites in the containers are worth in today's money? Perhaps we should see an updated accounting trading statement soon?

I am getting the same feeling now since I left one of Warren Buffets Companies a few years ago and did very well on Gold and Silver miners. I was trading the likes of Acacia (then African Barrick Gold and Hochschild Mining) all between GBP4 -GBP7.00 a share with my own money. Our share prices have a long way to go yet in my opinion the God rush has just started to gain momentum. No wonder he is sitting on cash (he might even be coming in here soon??).

Also Vanguard own 5.4Million.

I wonder how much the stock held in the containers is now worth. Barrick are getting us cheap!!!!! Perhaps our Eastern friends will come in after all??

Has I am not in this ahre for day trading I am in for the longer term. Many such as Stock Abc called me an idiot. I am happy with this if an idiot makes lots of money. I would prefer to be a rich idiot than a poor one, ha,ha. You will have to keep an eye on World events but the Whole World is coming out of the safe haven USD and Chinese currencies and going back to Gold. This I have seen coming for some time. I have a feeling Gold is in such demand it will stay high for a long time. Oil now suffers was efficient production and over capacity. It will take a number of world events or cuts to stop the levels of production we have and for the prices to rise significantly in my opinion. I see certain UK insurers and Uk Banks looking cheap for foreigners due to the sterling falls. Might be worth a look?

Hi Parf - good to see you over here on CEY, yes I see Gold rising with some momentum now we should clear 1500oz and hopefully continue. Sooner of later others will see the potential in the miners like we do, and the share prices for us as precious metal miners will continue to rise inline of even with greater momentum than they currently have. I still feel based on the recent rise we are a cheap sector. At the moment what other sector compares?

Hi Has Gold still rising and many feel a long way to go yet now at USD1490 and rising, I hope we may break 1500oz at this rate even today!!! I feel Barrick will give us a lift this afternoon.

I am in both and Hoc, and feel CEY will do well after Acacia is sold off (HSBC advise me most likely 4th qtr 2019) and like Randgold another miner is lost from the FTSE. I was hoping we would stay independent from Barrick and find some new buyers instead like our Chinese friends as they are also going to build a smelter in Tanzania. Hopefully chaps the concentration and sentiment can return on the higher Gold prices allowing for a decent profit and what solution can be had with any respective gov.t intervention when the price of Gold has made this asset of Gold worth more, the sharing of profits with Govts is always the sensitive area. Gold price still rising thanks god for trade wars and falling sterling. Trump v Chinese and even Boris are doing all their level best to help the price here. Long may the uncertainty continue!! I suppose today started hesitantly with all watching the market movements, and a small recovery from yesterdays big financial stocks falls, however I do not feel Mr Trump has finished attacking and putting further pressure on the Fed for rates cuts, he is furious that the Fed only cut by 0.25% and clearly they should have cut more in his opinion where the Chinese can control the price of their own currency against that of the Dollar and in turn taking out his tariffs in one hit. I see Gold continuing to rise and the rates continuing to fall whilst Trump is in power. Good place to be here as well as Acacia.

Mr T, Acacia has a share price now underpinned and related to the share buy out offer from Barrick Gold. However over on that board most see it like they see CEY as a wise investment whilst Gold price rises and when converted it is actually working at a discount to the Barrick accepted offer, with a chance one of three Chinese Companies coming in who Acacia BOD have been talking to in making a counter offer. Also after the sale Barrick have agreed to pay the Acacia shareholder an additional dividend for the success they have been having with exploration outside of Tanzania, in N.Mali, Burkina Faso (West Africa), and Kenya where a large Gold discovery has been found and quotes are being obtained to start mining.

Gold moving up again starting to gain momentum before the NYSE open. Usd1463 an rising. I hope we can clear 1500oz soon.

I wouldn't worry about the digs, you can always swap out I have seen the way Thomas Cook has been picking up? However I also am losing on the banks, mainly Lloyd's, RBS, and HSBC. I regret not coming out before on them all, as the margins are just not there to make any big value gains, unless another bank comes in from the States or China or somewhere making the most of the fallen values. I agree more than ever to stick with Gold/ precious metal miners at the moment -good luck.

Interesting buy as the NYSE was opening? However to a fund Manager it all makes sense as Gold is up again tonight now USD1472.48 and still rising, i'm hoping for 1500oz overnight?

Suspect it might move up more overnight when our Eastern friends get stuck in to a safer haven than the USD.
