I know Warren Buffet is sitting on cash, and I know he likes investing in this Country because I worked for one of his Companies once. He has already bought Cadburys and Heinz, he also has a large controlling interest in Coke, and I wonder if he is starting to show an interest. If so his timing is superb. Time will tell who it is once the notifications come to the market via RNS.

Gold was down this morning but is now coming back fast and is only 0.91% down at 1498.81, hardly a fall at all. Talk about the ECB and Fed cutting rates will mean the price will rise in anything. Goldman Sachs actually feel the price will rise to USD1600oz. Once Trump starts tweeting and as the Iranians are threatening the Americans I do not see Gold falling much if anything at all. We may even go up by the end of the day!! Lets hope he has his fingers on the tweets.

Perhaps in advance to try and improve relations with Acacia before the takeover and to avoid any Arbitration that presumably is still live until Barrick are in charge. However unless the GOT give a little more the action could still takes place for the minority shareholders who after all have lost dividends and income over the past two to three years. I would now like to see the tailings stall restarted and the composites allowed to be exported to consider dropping the entire Arbitration and to relieve/recover the share price. I also wonder if Barrick could request to be considered to registered to trade on the LSE to keep the old Acacia shareholders able to trade who do not have access to the Canadian or NYSE. link attached to Mining news :-

I seem to remember and don't quote me that a senior gold mier explorer was taken by terrorists, or gang members and the political climate is challenged. So I am not sure if that is why operations have been scaled down? However for the future I know Acacia Mining (Currently being bought out by Barrick) have exploration rights and licenses in place and it is something that Barrick (Mark Bristow -of Randgold fame) wants to develop as the Country has huge potential. So maybe CEY are in discussion and / or awaiting for Political events to become clearer? I could also see a working relationship for CEY with Barrick in the future as that is how Mark Bristow likes to work. i.e. share costs and mining profits, So watch this space!!

Wish you all the best BB, I am staying in Acacia but I have always held others shares as well as you know. I was employed by a Japanese firm for a while dealing with some of their most difficult claims and they are very clever hard workers and also very clever people. I understand from them as private investors there is no point in investing in their own Country with the low rates as you say and they instead invest heavily in Gold, and also in foreign markets. I expect them (as well as the Americans to come back into the FTSE once we get Brexit behind us). Why not divest into the other Banks, i.e. RBS took a hit yesterday because it went ex.divi, however all of now slimmer and ready to go forward without debt and can make big profits again once we have the PPI miss-selling behind us, and the B - issue again. Good luck -however I have a feeling we may see you again back in here later. I see MB and the GOT lifting the sanctions soon on the tailings and the composites held at the port and so this share will then excuse the pun "rock". -Cheers x.

Gold exports started from N.Mara, additional Gold from Tailings facility export notice being sort, meaning they can now meet all their financial requirements (per the notice). With the price of Gold so high what a great time to start exporting again. This must be as a result of the positive relationship MB has created with the G.O.T -Great news!!!! Hopefully we can now keep the share price rising from here.

Hi Gerry and Wise, great to hear your views, and I don't blame you for adding on the drops. I also see this as a great future investment opportunity and see them actually doing very well if we do have a hard Brexit. i.e. Their Airport at S/END is vast, and they have all the right contracts for haulage and warehousing at this and their other locations. I can see if many are having to pay more for European car entry and red tape (via Greencards) many more may fly short haul. I know one or two who work there and they are thinking ahead by spending on Infrastructure and engineering and servicing projects for further expansion. This is one Company expanding and on an exciting journey.

Hi Franky yes I can see what you say and all very good news. I was watching Bloomberg and the Gold price today and it started to go down immediately after Trump said he would delay putting additional tariffs on Chinese goods until December, and then suddenly the Chinese said he had broken an agreement made is Osaka? and they would retaliate (when the Gold price came back up again. B/berg also said today the ECB is seriously considering cutting the base rate hard to help their businesses which they could be looking into as soon as tomorrow? This will help us too. Gold and ABX up again at 7.17pm.

Hi Gerry - Sorry I did not have a motive here to offend anyone, as we are all entitled to our own views. I did not read your comment in isolation to study it I just quickly read through all of the more recent posts and thought I would offer my own thoughts and comments. I am surprised that this share has not (excuse the un) flown back up yet after Mr Tinklers antics appear to have disappeared for the time being, however he could try and mount a takeover at these silly low prices. It is good that you have commented and we can find some agreement here, although personally I would rather the share price did not fall much more and would not be happy with £110 (even for a temporary period of time). However with the threat of the ECB cutting rates hard the euro should fall and holidays for the Uk abroad could become a lot cheaper than the current price (based on current currency levels) so good luck with your shares but I would prefer they went up and not down.

Seems like the fund Manager and investment houses still building here in afternoon US trade.

You guys make me laugh if you feel the Stobart price is influenced by Ryan Air strikes. They only keep about 4 planes at Southend, and the majority are for Easyjet as you know. With the Ryan Air and B.A Strikes planned in fact Easyjet, Flybe and others will pick up sales, this will help Southend. If people can't fly what do they do they spend more in airport terminals. I only see Stobart Business increasing especially for internal flights using the new route up north between SE and Carlisle especially now the Football season has started. I see this as a strong buy.

Franky perhaps in another year we can clean up here and go in and buy metro Bank for £1 ?.
We have since gone up by £1.50 since those Acacia dark days and now look forward to working with Barrick and the G.O.T. to make the Gold mining with our Chinese Smelter friends a huge success. There's an old wise saying "don't throw good money after bad", I will stay here with the "Gold." Meanwhile Chinese Govt and Trump playing all sorts of trade wars today, Gold is up and down and no doubt up again later.

Franky -no worries, I try not to make any too, and find I have always made some - for me it is an age related problem I am sure. Or as you say knackered!! Yes I agree I never did like the Metro - would always prefer to walk, ha,ha!! I remember when I first worked in Elder St. at the age of 16, I would catch the train up to Cannon St. and then the circle line, and then realized if I cut through the alley ways through where the old post office used to be I could make Liverpool t. in Ten mins (quicker than the Tube, so I never bothered after that with the Metro, Ha.ha.

Safer place to be here than with other shares at the moment!!!
Franky - my fears are for the others moving out into other shares what with seeing Metro bank moving down 3.42% today, and the NYSE down 661 points, and hope it is not the start of a rout.

In this uncertain political World there is a message there somewhere.

Whereas before I was not keen on having Barrick shares for my Acacia, I now see then as a very good investment. That is how the World has changed where more and more govts are moving over from Balancing to Gold, rather than foreign currency.

I am still sure most that have left this share will come back in later, or while they have a chance.

Like Fidelity and other Fund managers are doing I would even be coming in here for some protection from when the market crashes (which could be coming soon).

Today - This is looking like a very, very good place to be (many have taken profits already but Gold is now only just starting to move up fast). This is a very unpredictable Political world we are in which supports the precious metals. Also low Growth in many Countries will encourage the respective central banks to ut their rates (which will help Gold further). I see a lot of growth here both short and long term.
