I had to go back last week to another of Dad's old friends funeral and he did well in life living in a very nice private estate at Locks Bottom but could I easily find a parking spot, it is as you say just like London was 40 years ago.

I now live on the Coast and my Dad moved over to be close to us and wonders why he is outliving all of his old friends and I told him it is the fresh air!!

They also do not get the same benefits that Wimpey and Barratt get with support from the govt.schemes. One I am in now on the cheap is STOBART as I know Warren Buffet likes his planes and Trains, and with it goes land and warehousing. He could come in at these prices?

Hi Chaps I bought in big when the price came down and have waited patiently, I could for see if Mr Tinkler lost his Court case for wrongful dismissal as he owns so many shares and has big backing followers he might launch a takeover bid? Perhaps something is going on already? Certainly a very large number of shares went through today which have pushed up the price, so I am not sure if someone pressed the wrong button or if Mr Tinkler is Tinkering?

MP-I can only describe this as it all depends as to what is written within the Contracts in place that are actually signed between the Government of Tanzania and Acacia. That is why I have rattling along all the time that the contracts in place are worth a lot more than Barrick are offering. The terms of any disagreement will be International terms between a UK registered Company whose Board and Company is registered in the Uk and the Govt of Tanzania. The contract clauses will determine where the international court of arbitration sits (possibly Geneva?) The fine if found with the solution will be found and as I say the parties will have to talk. Recently the record for the G.O.T has not been good and they were fined millions over the way a Japanese Company was treated. You may find more on this online. The Company will have Insurances for many areas of dispute including this sort of thing. They will pay for the absolute best representation from the best Lawyers who are experienced in this sort of thing, and this could be what and why the GOT are upset with Acacia. I see the only way out of this now unless Barrick send a lifeboard for the Govt is to play hard ball. We appear to have been treated very poorly and as long as we have honoured our contracts we will do well. The Arbitration route has not been successful for the Got it seems. The lawyers would have recommended we take the Barrick offer if they felt we did not have a good chance of success. They are not at this level very wrong. The same Insurers lawyers are most likely representing Aca as the recent Japanese success story, The Whole wide Insurance market is actually very small in number of Companies acting, but very big in financial capacity. Most disputes also get sorted at the very last minute, even just before witnesses are called on the Court steps.

Parf, those articles are pretty old now mate all seen and done last week. Barrick are delaying until the last minute for some odd reason, but the proceedings will start at International Arbitration level when the GOT and Aca will have to start talking whether in court or not. Like any heavy weight boxing match they might be sparring before hand but sometimes after a hard fought fight surprisingly the parties come together, So discount the fact the actions starts and also don't discount the fact that actually a solution will actually come through. I have seen first hand over the years how this can suddenly happen. To be honest from what I have seen from Barricks negotiating team we would be better off without them they haven't exactly shown to me any real skills that are worth giving a Gold medal to. Gold coming back tonight and likely to come back once our fast eastern friends start buying in again. I am sure the stock market recovery rally will be short lived.

Amazing isn't it as soon as Trump starts talking and not tweeting how the market reacts, shares up and Gold simply does not know what to do. To be honest once Trump starts talking I feel the best place to be is here and in Gold to be honest. I have a strange feeling Gold will be moving back up very soon, why would it go down. Gold is now up 16.98% in Sterling which you may have missed is falling, and so our profits will now be even greater from USD than before . Even the situation in Hong Kong looks like it is getting worse. Maybe they want a HEXIT! hA, ha, best of luck to one and all. I still see Acacia moving up from here.

Hi Parf, I can never gauge what will happen with Gold on trade discussions, but I suppose other shares might rise on expectation, and even the Dollar might rise (which will help the Acacia income figures) but if the Fed lowers the reserve rate I feel this will have more of an effect. In the longer term if trade picks up it will actually help commodities as I hear Gold if used very much in the electronics industry as it is one of the best conductors known to man. If the Fed lowers the rate then Acacia will become even more expensive for Barrick to buy.

Barrick are saying the GOT will not talk to Acacia, but it looks to me now as if Acacia and Barrick are only talking through their own lawyers in anycase. Acacia also do not agree with what Barrick have said. I also cannot see how Acacia have been operating so well with increased production for the last quarter to now be back on track or even ahead of yearly projections if all is as bad as Barrick say. Barrick are sailing very close to the wind let me just say that. I feel now like so many other minority shareholders we will be better to do without Barrick who are devaluing the Company. We all know what is required and that is to offer the true audited book price when the offer is made, and since the substantial recent Gold price rises this Company is now worth a whole lot more than even a couple of weeks ago. Barrick felt their timing was good but the world timing of events is now very fortunate for us. As Acaciatan said if fact MB has just raised the Acacia profile to those who were unaware of us, and it has not had the effect he felt it would at all of getting us on the cheap. They have also underestimated the resilience and fight back from our own B.O.D. I am now very happy with our own Management and very unhappy with Barrick and theirs who we could do without.

GH-I think from memory the owners of the mines were due to start holding arbitration hearings in September, but I can see more than one Arbitration or at least Court case taking place here. The way Barrick have behaved there could even be court cases now outside of the International arbitration courts. I can see LSE rules being broken and certainly the lawyers will be looking towards Canada or London for some additional trials as this rate. If Barrick continue as they are without any fair play they should look in a mirror rather than try to make us afraid of Tanzania as this whole baby could be turned round against them.

It would appear as if Barrick like any bully is relying in its mates to try and push down the price of Aca shares during the day and then steam in later with repetitive ordinary trades. I appreciate the big trade after close was an uncrossing one but the others were all ordinary trades at the 1.83 level and so at least we should be up tomorrow at open. I have written to Acacia asking them to release their 2nd qtr results early if they are good or better than expected as in this way we should get an improved sentiment and rising share price that Barrick are monitoring and lets then hope we are far higher than today's close and before the Barrick deadline date. I am not sure if we still have a British Ambassador in Tanzania and if we do it would be good to see if they could put to the President of Tanzania our ability to talk with them to solve this issue.

No wonder they cannot get a negotiation agreed with the G.O.T. to be approved with Acacia approval. Very poorly handled by Barrick in my opinion. Why did it take two days for their response that could have taken 5 minutes. They are clearly playing for time until the deadline. Lets hope the Gold price either rises further or is maintained at current levels until then. The price for today was down this morning but Gold is now back to almost the same level as yesterday and if it spokes now will be rising this afternoon, once again. I hope we can first move closer to 1500oz and then on up to 1600oz.

Yes KD was a very well thought of Senior Officer here at Acacia and also President of Barrick (very well thought of here and poached for the CEO role at Anglo Ashanti). I see a tie up here in the future he knows the Acacia mines better than anyone else outside the Company. I would not venture into Mali now as it is a difficult place politically at the moment (we have had a enough of that haven't we). I was thinking short term what with the very warm weather coming the drinks and Ice cream Companies could be worth a punt. I am in Marstons too, as my Godfather used to be their Company Sec, and they usually do well in hot weather. I am surprised Stobart has not yet bounced back and I suspect Tinkler might want to take them over sometime as even though he lost his unfair dismissal he does own and have support for a very large % or the Company already. So worth watching.
