My short closed on a limit while I was out this morning so I'm watching again. There you go Tommy, that's me being one of the people short who never states his position etc. I don't see what's wrong with doing that to be honest. Although I do kind of get what you say about overstating positions (long or short). And I do get that it's boring and even annoying sometimes.

It's not really the point LSE, Xhita has previously been critical of myself and other traders, essentially for doing exactly what she is now doing. She's previously been 'buy and hold' or at least has said that and has been critical of traders 'moving the price around when the underlying business doesn't warrant the price movements'. My point relates either to being blind to the fact she's doing exactly that, or being hypocritical in critising others for trading. Really, my head spins and I do think there is some value in highlighting how posters views change as they decide to change their strategy, what was ripe for criticism a year ago is now great today.

It was always great, trade or invest etc, but you don't need to criticise those who take a different approach. Just find a way to make money and enjoy it.

Xhita, it's exactly what you're doing and you're contributing the ebb and flow by doing it. In my view you're delusional to deny it. Human behaviour makes my head spin. What's wrong with just admitting, you're trading based on exactly the same principles everyone else does. By that I mean trying to sell high and buy low, rinse and repeat. What's 'dirty' about admitting it?

But you are Xhita. Bb's do my head in, people can't even be straight about what they're doing. You've criticised trading/charts/TA in the past, but you are exactly trading the ebb and flow. You saw and opportunity (BAE) that you thought would pay better/faster than EZJ and sold some EZJ to buy BAE. You were right, so took a good profit on EZJ and also BAE. You traded the ebb and the flow and made money. What's wrong with just saying it? Is it the inconsistency in your previous stance on trading that makes it impossible to just say, 'I traded it successfully'. People are so complex.

Whether you used TA/charts/some fundamental analysis on either or both companies, you traded the ebb on EZJ into the flow of BAE. And good for you, but why try to bull sh it about it.

It's funny Xhita, you've criticised trading/TA/Charts and now you're trading!! That's not a criticisum as I think you'll make a lot more money that way. Obviously a very good move to BAE, now back to EZJ. It's what traders do, look for opportunities and move money to places where they think they'll get movement, not leave it stuck somewhere with dimished liklihood of movement.

I have 240 as a possible support, simply based on it being the previous low (June 4th). But I still think the price will reach or exceed 236. I hav 231 as a possible support from March 17th then the low between March 12th-March 14th around 222. A fall below that might be a little worrying for longs. I remain short for the moment and will probably get back at least what I lost on my last failed short.

You're probably right MKS about the drop, but there's something so unsatisfying about not having a more specific understanding. Particularly when bored, I do try to rationalise movements (and usually can't). As you say, maybe just time to sit back and wait.

Well, it was worth asking as I hadn't a clue what it meant when I read it. Odd that on activating that and therefore receiving the 150 million, the SP fell. Any idea why that might have happened. If the two things were connected it suggests the market wasn't impressed, if they're not connected then it suggests that income was already in the price (which seems a bit odd, bearing in mind the SP fall over time).

FWIW, having closed one short a few days ago at a 10p or more loss, I opened another one and am sat on a small profit on that. I don't have my charts open, but am still thinking that around 235 is possible (from memory). These are not high conviction trades so are small.

George, I apologise for my testiness earlier, I should have just ignored your post, there was no good reason for me to get moody about it.

Xhita, any time that luck seems to shine on you, you should grab it with both hands and run with it. Pleased it worked well for you. Worth remembering that luck favours the well prepared and I suspect you are.

For what it's worth, I think you've done the right thing to lighten up Xhita. I also think that you'll have a chance to buy lower than today's price (already stated and I'm trading consistently with my previous views). No idea about BAE, but might take a look as I'm largely staying out of additional trades at the moment.

Watch the share price George. Whatever you think you know about the sector and the company, you have no idea where the SP will go next so to tell people they should be comfortable with an entry of 550 or whatever and that it's all going to be good, is simply patronising. Watch the SP, you cannot see into the future.

Thanks Nick. Notice a big rise in POO again. Although spot prices shouldn't instantlyt ranslate into changes in SP on hedged oil, it does seem to have some impact. I figured that rise might be related to Trump making agreements with China on trade and the idea that the economy might soon pick up

What seems to have caused the drop in SP today? A rise in POO doesn't seem likely to explain it?
