Steiner/Groceryshop interview2 Nov 2025 14:18
I'm rewatching that interview and am thinking that Steiner is essentially saying we'll have to wait 5-10years to see a significant uptake of the bespoke automation solutions by smaller stores etc. I also get the impression that if you take out your personal bias and hopes for profits and bigger revenues, Steiner is really saying they've been behind the curve the whole time. It's always been 5-10 years in the future, it's always been based on hope. This latest push towards bespoke solutions is an extension of this. At some point they actually have to sell enough tech solutions to clients to make a profit. He's being positive about potential, and about future need for automation in a world where labour costs are increasing, but there's actually no solid evidence that OCDO have turned any corner. I'm not trying to be negative, I'm trying to understand that interview. Looks like it's more 'jam tomorrow' to me. Having said the SP moves nicely on hype and hope so, as stated over the last week or so, I have been buying.
