Trump doesn't help us. If this rise is largely due to Trumps comments and India/China agreeing to buy less oil from Russia it could be reversed on his next tweet. If that happens y11 will probably get back in, who knows maybe below 209. 192 or lower is very easy to rationalise. But if Trumps comments are actually masking a an inflow of money into oil as some sort of sustainable rotation at a cycle low, then maybe we could get a decent rise. Like you SD, I'm not in profit for the moment. From memory I need around 228, but at current levels the 2 dividends I've taken leave me up over all. I'm hoping that we've started a rotation and that POO will continue. If that were to happen we could quite quickly see 237, 255 and even 274. No-one can see into the future and as stated here previously I can also see rationales for much lower numbers (that's why I can't add anything here). If the POO rose and EPL adjustments were significantly impacting our revenues and profits, that would quell any questions around a dividend of 10% or so and would suit me just fine.

Brent is trying for the upside again. Be interesting to see if it makes a new high (around 6575). I'm assuming the trigger for the rise was India/China reducing imports from Russia in response to Trump's comments? Have I got that right?

I have 34k transacted at 16:06 (1 min period). Sp dropped from 270 to 259ish then straight back up. I can't get more detail. Overall today though there has been a tick up in volume. I have around 460k transacted today which is reasonable without being massive.

Meta as well, they're AI is harvesting enormous amounts of data and feeding users very targeted information.

Why do you say that Tungsten? From my point of view market participation in this rise is quite low and getting lower. A fall back, at least short term, would not surprise me. I'd like to see more participation before believing in a to infinity and beyond scenario.

It would be irritating to post every two minutes so I only post when something is happening. At the moment the SP is showing weakness. Don't forget Mike, I'm very long on HBR and although, as you say, I'm happy to see a fair bit more downside, that's simply to increase my holding and reduce my average entry price and hopefully keep taking a good dividend. I think HBR is a great opportunity, but I won't add at any price, it must be at specific levels.

We're largely agreed that around the current levels let's say 187 to 192 there is likely some significance to buyers. If it flys up from here, I'm happy and if it drops I'm also happy as I currently have no concerns about HBR. Just trying to make the most out of the swings.

I don't see anthing significant at your 192 area Mike. What I do see is an incredible retest of a descending tl that was broken in a bullish break on Aug 6th. The tl was from Jun 17, Jul 29, Jul 30 then the big break to the upside Aug 6th. The price went from 204/205 (the tl not the previous evenings closing price) to 239/240 peak on Aug 13, since then it more or less waterfalled down to today where it rejected the extention of the descending tl at 187/188. Remember the tl acted as resistance 3 times, broke the 4th touch and theoretically could act as support now. My view is that it won't be support for long and that it will continue to waterfall down. I previously stated this and Mike that's where you shall we say 'disagreed with me'.

We may well get a bounce, but POO is falling and any dodgy news re EPL not being lifted or modified. Will like have the price off to the targets I previously suggested.

Looking at it again the drop and rise happened within a minute, so was over by 14:02:30, so maybe that 27000 is not the cause for it coming back up. Not sure how fast the trades register.

Those sudden drops are interesting. At 14:01:30 (10 sec chart), the SP fell to 215.3. Total volume on that 10s period was under 4000. Best I can get from a 1s chart is that it was a single trade of around 3700 shares that dropped the price to 215. I guess that low volume means there were not many stops. Just over 2 mins later a a transaction of 27000 shares banged the price back up. Nice money if you can do it. Maybe a limit buy? Maybe someone sitting watching and sharp enough to take that end of the offer? Wasn't me sadly.

OK, the change column is intended to show the change from any previous disclosure. As the 0.5% is a first disclosure, it is shown as "no change". Clearly it is actually an increase in their short position, but the size of the increase is not known and is therefore not shown.

Yes, also don't forget the Shakespear buy of 87k shares at around 350. That suggests that he's not seeing an obvious problem looming.

Little bit of buying 250/251. Not high volume, probably someone's limit being transacted. I just added a few at 252.9. That's dot on the price I have showing on screen. That's unusual, I normally get offered at the top of the spread (disadvantageous for me). Maybe this is the turn.

But surely we survived lower oil prices with higher debt previously, it seems (I'm not good enough with accounts to be sure) that the idea that the company can't survive 2026 is unlikely to be correct.
