Although I went a little early, I posted that this morning in this thread. It's almost like clockwork sometimes although no-one can see into the future. Now 111.4 is out of the way we might see a turn. Having said that 110.8 to 110.2 is not particularly unlikely. A close below 110.2 would worry me a bit.

I bought a few today. SP looks perky, but I'm not that convinced that the downside is complete. I went to the company website and for a company selling software it was hard work to find the financial calendar. I perservered, but it annoyed me that it was so badly setout. FY results on the 6th. It's a gamble on that now and it's never safe to hold over scheduled news events so I've kept the position small.

Looks as though we are indeed off to 12.6. Fingers crossed we won't close any day below 12.35. For me, despite the risk of a worldwide recession, these movements are largely technical. For the moment, although volatile, POO remains relatively steady.

It's funny to watch, when broker notes confirm your beliefs (not you particularly JM) they are 'spot-on', when they don't they're useless, produced by idiots who don't know what they're doing. What a world we live in, no wonder most don't make money on the markets.

It hit at least 118.65 Mandy. I think it could come off to around 112 to close the mornings gap up. That was presumably over-excited PI punters. What happens after that will be interesting. 15% increase in profit seems encouraging, but TA-wise I'm not convinced we've seen the bottom. It'll seem like nit-picking but I think we'll see 111.4 or lower. I'm also concerned about the possibility of the big fine and tempted to avoid this for the moment. I'm still watching.

Collingham, if you really do know "This happens to every share ripe for manipulation by the major players" then you wouldn't be playing the 'long game' as you state. You'd be exploiting what always happens. If it always happens, then it's predictable and it can be used to your advantage. The truth in fact is that you have no confidence at all in what you are saying and you're annoyed that the story is not going the way the storytellers told you it would go and your sitting on a share that is falling in price. You're even assuming that the fall in the SP is related to a GS note that most on here believe holds no value. Is it possible that the SP is falling for other reasons. Many, many other shares fell quite a lot today.

DB, I was confused by this from Seekingalpha post 13:16. "What really destabilises markets are hedge finds using algo trades to drive prices higher and lower. Where there is a wide spread on a stock they might put in a nuisance offer of a couple of shares knowing that most investors will incur significant percentage charges buying them."

My question was, how does an investor incur anything other than normal charges in this situation, You place your order, it's either filled completely or not, but you're charged the dealing fee which at least in my experience is a flat rate. So I was just trying to better understand SA's post.

Not sure that's true Modestus. TLW getting the same treatment today (as many non-oil stocks). I don't think it's related to Goldman's note. Could it be related to expectations of a shock to the wider markets? US500 showing weakness. At least some of the big 7 are due to report in the coming days. Maybe it's the heebie geebies over whether or not they'll hit or miss their realistic broker targets. Most of the market is exceeding it's unrealistically low broker targets but the big 7 are propping up the US markets and their targets are apparently more real.
