DB, I was confused by this from Seekingalpha post 13:16. "What really destabilises markets are hedge finds using algo trades to drive prices higher and lower. Where there is a wide spread on a stock they might put in a nuisance offer of a couple of shares knowing that most investors will incur significant percentage charges buying them."
My question was, how does an investor incur anything other than normal charges in this situation, You place your order, it's either filled completely or not, but you're charged the dealing fee which at least in my experience is a flat rate. So I was just trying to better understand SA's post.
