I bought a few at 64.8. There is no evidence that the price has bottomed, it was a speculative buy based on the idea that we might see buyers come in around 64.5 to 65p.

I didn't suggest that the bounce would be small. However, I've brough my average down to a level were I don't need that much to break even.

I bought a few more at around 12.64. Still think we're on the verge of a bounce. Time will tell.

Well, we're almost there and 65 or lower is not inevitable bearing in mind we're sat at 65.05. From my point of view, it's now worth watching to try to figure out where buyers might come in. My guess is that buyers will start to appear between 64.5 and 65. So I will be watching closely.

That hasn't really answered my question (although it appears to have appealed to the conspiracy theorists). Putting aside the potential fine for BT, is there any reason that it would be hit particularly hard if we were to enter a worldwide recession? Sports coverage package? Streaming? I'd have thought that it's backbone activities were somewhat recession proof.

A disproportionate amount of money is being invested into 7 companies. This is presumably exacerbated by money going into funds and funds buying tech and avoiding miners and the O&G sector. One way or another these things tend to settle out and work themselves through. At that time some will still be chasing the the big 7 against their slip-streams. At least we're positioning ourselves for the rebalancing that ' surely' has to follow. I think something like 33% of the US500 is now covered by 7 companies.

The drop in SP is not pretty at all. As you say fleccy it's moving towards the lows of May to Nov 2020. The trouble is that without a stimulus of some sort (news?) there's no obvious reasons for buyers to return just yet. I'm not sure Telecoms were in a particularly bad place during COVID. It does not look unlikely that the SP could get to 94-98. Having said that I don't know the specifics of how COVID and it's concomittent lockdowns and restrictions would have negatively impacted telecoms. Do you know fleccy? Is there a good reason to believe that the COVID was worse for Telecoms than the looming recession?

Another way of looking at the observation that the price is now at the top of it's previous range, is that ' what was resistance, becomes support'. I've bought a few as I'm struggling to see how it's possible that the price now discounts the whole Winterstall deal.

What makes you say it's a good market day Mike? FTSE down, POO down, may stocks down. Even US futures are struggling to show any positivity (despite good earnings e.g. by caterpillar, Toyota). The 'special feature' we have with HBR is the wait until Q4 to find out whether the Winterestall deal is ratified. My guess is that those sitting on profit from the leap up on news are dropping out to lock some profit in. That's why the SP is falling. The SP is now at the top of it's range before the deal was announced (so nothing in it for the deal now). It could drop back from here to hit the bottom of it's previous range.

I have 258-261 as an area where we might see some buyers come in. If we don't we could be looking at 235 or even 223 or below. Sounds daft now, but good fortune favours the prepared mind.

Was thinking the same Beo and wondered whether todays announcement is actually a point of inflection suggesting that any weakness is a buying opportunity. I'm still hoping for 65 or lower, but that doesn't mean it will happen
