Whenever I dump a share, it usually flourishes. So hold on and good luck. Tang has paid so much for his holding so I cannot see any likelihood of returns for any shareholders. The day Dattels and co. departed was an exit cue. Never took it and sat here hoping for similar excitement. My take is that Tang has annual drawings which can be taken for many years to come, especially as we all know the asset value is multiple times the current share price but not enough for Tang to make a huge profit on his investment if he sells assets and shares the proceeds with other shareholders.
Reminds me of my investment in GBP where a big lump of cash has been sucked out by the BoD over many years.
I always thought that NAV was an important criteria when investing. Not here.
I guess a lot of share chat platforms have day traders and short term traders, including this one here. As an example, someone here said, he has a core holding and a trading amount that he was intending selling at 18p on the way up. I imagine that batch was sold at 19p plus, and he will be looking to get back in sometime.
I have my core holding and would like a trading amount. Never felt clever enough to short term trade.
Soon be 17p to buy. That’s when I can get excited again, well just for a few seconds. It’s a bit like having an o*****! ??
Any one else have this problem? It's one of my investment failings.
Hi leas
Your post at 10.28 is spot on. SB
A sadly lacking requirement, to show balance sheet values of each investment.
Am I wrong? Can anyone here tell me what value is shown for GCM in June 18 accounts?
£12m value currently in GCM. Our market cap at £13m. Interesting.
Hi Jux
A very good explanation and thank you. I do think that JW is already very wealthy, though his investment is very welcome as you say. SB
That's better
Could they be an integral part of their service agreement! Who knows. Always looks good on the surface. Synical yes but this is very true with some Directorships. OIMO
Last thursday was the optimum timing. Is it still worth doing? Clearly a lot of that happening right now. Clever move by JW to change the production figure timings. This just helps more savvy (seasoned) investors to top slice.
IMO we are drifting back to 17p. Thoughts anyone?
Hi leas. Please describe what this person is. I thought I was one of those having had many years of investing with lots of ups and downs. Still not wealthy. Are you all waiting to be wealthy or wealthier?
I am just an ordinary bloke giving my opinion. I presume that all of you seasoned investors who post here are retired as you would not have time to post if you have a job.
Hi leas. I agree with everything you say about AMER and my comments are in line with your thoughts except for one thing. No one has a grip on what the oil price might do. Oil price predictions have, just like the stock markets, never been guaranteed!
This should be a big winner for all, including meeeeeee, with the proviso that the oil price knife does not scupper our dreams. A f***** up world especially whilst trump holds the ace of spades could delay our just rewards. AMER can weather any stormy oil price, unlike my debt ridden EME shares when they were in Texas. Unfortunately I made all the wrong decisions and i transferred my fortune to other investors. As a long term holder here, I will not make the same mistake. However I recognise that funds here could, if unlucky, remain for several years. So IMO do not put ALL your cash in here even though it looks a very winner.
Very exciting times ahead.

I have never got my head round this. His 12% investment in Polo is still less than the current market value of the whole company. So did Tang think Polo was worth £100m? Dattel and co walked away laughing IMO.
So what is Polo really worth and will I ever see any return from the shares I bought all those years ago!
Comments please
SB
Hi leas
Thanks for your comments. I agree that oil is a risk sector and have had lots of crazy experiences over the last 12 years. I still get sucked in, because I do gamble and "think" I get great excitement from it. I can name so many examples of how I nearly got very wealthy (by my standards). The opportunities are more frequent with minerals and drugs, so here we are!

I am a positive investor here, however I am mindful of the setbacks that could delay a substantial gain here.
Even an oil price dip would be less damaging than the impact of a bombed pipeline. A few words from JW regarding the current security issues and what risk do we have with our acreage would not go amiss.
Thoughts anyone?

Lots of optimism here! I really hope we all, me included, make some dosh here. Meanwhile the BoD pay themselves $3m per annum, JW a massive $1.8m. The boss of Enquest only earns £1m and he b***** works for his!
$16m per annum on overheads. Can someone here give us a breakdown of that?
Massive potential with massive overheads.
He ho
Hi all
Not really been following here, despite owning ENQ1 for div returns!
City clearly thinks the debt burden is the only worry here.
Anyone here agree / disagree?
Hope we do not have another Carillion or Interserve.
