Hi ICL1960. You make some very good points IMHO. You did not mention that income from an annuity is then taxed. This income here in a SIPP is not. Even better than you suggest IMHO.

Are you an ex ICL employee dating back to 1960? Makes you pretty old!

Fees are my biggest issue with them, however they do provide me with two valuable services that AJB, IWEB, T212 do not provide.

I can buy ENQ2 and I can get tax certificates for the likes of GRP to claim back Irish tax. Very useful.

If anyone here can suggest an alternative provider that does both these, then I would love to know.

Whilst the FTSE 100 is giving investors a real treat, this type of stock suffers. When I think that I exited LLOY and TSCO way too early serves me right.

It’s interesting that this Gov is being slagged off for all the harm it’s doing to businesses, yet the market says otherwise.

Markets like big majorities in Gov., even if it’s not liked! IMHO

If this provides a reliable income for your lifetime, then the Capital investment should be ignored as mentioned by Knowsalot. It’s better than an annuity.

Poor typing. I have GRP and KMR based in Dublin. Not UKW which I hold as well.

Hi Acesogood. Mine are in an ISA as well UKW which is my main GRP payment. The only issue I have is the fact that a particular person in the Irish tax office, though very friendly and quick to respond, insists to have the flow from the Company to our broker. I am hoping a general statement from AJ Bell will suffice as it’s one lump of divs to a nominee account. HMRC are great, though quite slow. I will get there.

Hi Acesogood. I appreciate your help with this. This is what the Irish Tax Office said. “ We need the full flow of the dividend from the paying company – Greencoat Renewables all the way through all the intermediators to the claimant.

AJ Bell should be able to assist you with this.“ AJ Bell provide a tax deducted summary which is fine. They can state that the flow of dividend is from KMR through Crest as a lump sum only. Not sure if the statement only requires those words.

QUESTION. Do I make an annual claim by tax year? If so, whose tax year? Irish or HMRC?

Hi Jonathb. I agree that the political element is not relevant. Until the UK can totally rely on wind/solar/nuclear resources to give us energy security, we must maintain our own oil/gas supplies rather than HOPE we can import whenever we need it. I am invested here, hopefully with a bright long term future. SB

the extract below, i read daily and compare with my octopus tracker tariff. i have been onto my local mps over the last five years about gas storage in the uk. no politician in this country gives a fig about it. how can you get at the likes of ed miliband to do something! you can only go through your own mp. it’s like a personal secretary shielding the boss from the likes of us. **** system.

germany has 90 days of storage capability. we have about 10 days if that. it needs gov investment rather than leave it to the free market.
