Well that’s ok as I was thinking I should of waited till the kings speech before selling any, I think I may just take my own advice and buy into BP today.

Christopher if you sell some and bought BP you get the dividend soon and if Bp gets to say £5.30 which isn’t a silly target you would need to be selling Psn for £17.60 to make the same money and I doubt Psn will reach that figure any time soon.

Denby, I have a high average of £13 over all my shares but in reality for how much I have spent my real world average is about £10

Decided to try a little trade and I’ve just sold £20k worth for £15.02. Usually I always slip up when I try this but they announced inflation is still 2% and it made no difference to the share.

Normally after June handovers the sites are quiet but I’m on one of the busiest sites and not much is happening at the moment.

Asking one of the directors today and sales in my area are still slow. An interest rate cut is needed to push start the housing and our wages.

It’s been within a few pence of this price all day, £15 is a tough resistance point to break but it will break and more so just be aware of the risks if you’re trading this share. Everyone is expecting an interest rate cut next month so if it doesn’t happen we could be in for more stagnation.

Eightyeight88, Luckily I have my shares spread thru ISA’s a trading account and a SIPP, if I access my money in my sipp it will be because I have decided to call it a day with work for good.

It’s a long time before I can claim a state pension so if they do start a means testing I think after a lot of uproar it will be gone by the time I’m due to get mine.

Hardup, So I will still be able to invest as I choose and I know my limit drops to £10k a year. So apart from setting my pension to drawdown I won’t have any special things I need to do,

I think a few people on here will be using a sipp and I was going to start taking money from mine in another two years. A friend has decided to retire and had to put his private pension into drawdown so he can access his money.

Will I have to do the same thing in a sipp even though I have no intention of spending my core investments and only plan to spend the dividends I have paid into my account so will not have an exact figure I want to take out.

I was hoping I could just take money out as needed and suffer any tax payments due? I have tried searching on google but with no luck.

Halifax are a joke as they still haven't added the money to my account for me to spend, if i go to the menu and select dividend payments I can see the money sitting there but they won't let me spend it.

Denby, That’s why the share drops on ex day, payment day is irrelevant.

Forgot to say that near the end of the year there will be the interim dividend for next years accounts and that will be a minimum of 20p but I’m hoping for 30p or more as if they are building more houses surely the dividend will be more.

With all your shares that’s still nearly a wage a year for you in dividends.

Christofer, careful if you’re selling the lot again around the £15 mark as one of these times it will hold and push past, Try being sensible and only trade up to about £50k that way you can suffer it if you get it wrong.

The drop is alway on ex day as that’s the day you have to hold for to receive payment. The payment of the dividend has no bearing on how the share rises and falls,

On a happier note my dividend went into my AJ bell account and is already spent and I’m just waiting for Halifax to catch up and pay me so I can spend that.

If Barrett’s is buying Redrow and Bellway is buying Crest does that mean Persimmon is buying Cala? I heard a rumour a couple of weeks ago that it was a done deal and they. Were just going thru the formalities .
