Compared to Jethro, and now Tripletail, Joe needed 50 metres just to keep up, or at least that is what the market is suggesting to me at least. With so many successes of late Joe's timing in the order of things wasn't good, just like my late tomatoes that won't be harvested.
Found this late in life, don't know if I have another year but it's been fun. Hope to get over there, haven't been since '74.
Good morning Phoebus from Ottawa, 5 hours behind you on this grand chunk of a morning!
Hope you chaps can settle the price down before the TSX opens.
Should Joe come in I'll sell 10% at £2 - the magic 10 bagger for many. With that and a good cash reserve I'll be buying when the initial rush is over and things settle down. One thing I've learned about this stock, the keeners get bored rather quickly and move on, and with winter coming and no sign of a take out there' ll be deep discount bargains to be had.
The missus shocked me this weekend. Given the opportunity to sell 100% of our holdings and walk away clean or, sell Guyana and have our share of $100 million held in reserve for Namibia she elected to sell the whole lot! Talk about dissension in the ranks. If there isn't enough interest in Namibia under my own roof I'll cast my lot with what seems to be the consensus.
Late to the party … make mine a 12 year old Rye Whiskey over chipped ice, please and thanks.
It wasn't that long ago the same was said of offshore Guyana.
hereandnow, never thought I'd see the day where you'd mention the words sell and Namibia in the same post, not after 7 years.
How many N.A. alarms? I was up at 3:15 this morning.
IJWT, a lot less.
Lam1, from my long perspective the sp is less relevant every passing day, others looking for a predetermined exit point won't agree. More relevant is the upcoming valuation of Jethro and to a lesser degree our share of Hammerhead which is why it would have been great to have drilled our channel this year.
IJWT helped me out yesterday by confirming my estimates were indeed ultra conservative. I'll be looking to buy bigger today if the bargains present themselves.
GH could know by Fridays TSX close, but we'll have to wait until the wee small hours Monday for the LSE to open shop.
InJamesweTrust, very much appreciated.
I do realize everyone has their own risk tolerance, fortunately having got in very early with a large share count I won't be hurt financially if the sp were to find itself back at the beginning - disappointed of course. I'm looking to add a new position based soley on 8% of Hammerhead along with a conservative Jethro evaluation. Is a 150p sp based on the aforementioned reasonable? We'll no doubt be visiting that level in the event of Joe being a failure - which by the way I'm betting is unlikely.
Hope I'm not getting too personal but I wouldn't post if I didn't think there were others here with the same thoughts and time frame.
Would anyone care to assign a stock value or takeout price for Eco assuming Hammerhead and Lobe-1 are as good as it gets. I remain as confident as ever to the point where I may add risk at this point but would like some kind of metric to determine how much I would need to cover.
At least 15% … how much more should Carapa go badly.
After being scolded by Georgetown they're now whispering into Gil's ear. ; )
urid, according to another poster KB referred to Tuktuk. It caught my eye while reviewing Slide 3 from Tullow's 'Jethro-1 Well Result' presentation. In case you missed it … https://www.tullowoil.com/Media/docs/default-source/3_investors/tullow-oil-plc_jethro-1-well-result-presentation.pdf?sfvrsn=0
This punter has accepted the fact that a new PSA is coming for us and Tullow. I'm certain GH said in an interview that Eco got a very favourable deal, a deal which I took to be better than Exxon's - 1.5% stuck in my noggin, and it may be why we have been singled out. GH may want to reign in his enthusiasm when giving interviews, his never wearing a driller's hat had him backpeddling when he realized this wasn't the best game face if he wanted a strong hand in negotiations.
Someone here used the term 'rape' not long ago to describe what multinationals sometimes do in new frontiers, personally I'd rather take less than be part of that process.
No need to feel sorry Olderandwiser, they knew the risks playing the Venture. Do you recall a post discussing Gil Holzman's favourable deal with Guyana, was it 1% or 1.5%? This may be the next shoe to drop when the time is ripe on the Venture.
Pretty well from my first days here I've cautioned you chaps on the TSX-V, yet the old PSA chestnut had many panties in a knot - now that's embarrassing. No doubt the next shaking-out will have the same lot in a tither as well. Anyone with a trading segment of their holdings is doing quite well. GLA!
