30% gain in little over a month and 80% since March isn’t bad, especially when gold is up less than 5% in the last month (in sterling which counts for us). We have maintained a pretty consistent forward PE lately, of a bit ove 12 as our shares rise with the sterling gold price, However day to day our share can rise a bit faster then pull back. if you mean we should be rerated I quite agree.

I quite agree a correction is coming, precious metals not only overbought but gold is unlikely to make it through its all time high on first go, should retreat regroup and try again, maybe many times, maybe never, however I think that, after shaking the froth off, it could be onwards and upwards quicker than we think so easier just to stay invested, not try to time it, and keep riding the bucking bronco, even as it tries to throw one off. Maybe mad....

Small flaw, I think that there is a royalty of 5% then 50% to Emra. At the current gold price profit is about $960 an ounce x 520k ounces - 5% - 50% which I make $237k which is around £185k (tho falling with dollar). So 16p a share. Market cap is £2.3bn, so giving a PE of a little over 12, a figure we have maintained for a while.
I believe we should rerate to 15 Which would give a share price 25% higher
On the dividend, this should rise with growing profit, but depend on percentage payout, which has been very high and what new boss wants to spend in W Africa, Egypt and corporate

So we both think there will be a pullback, the difference is I am holding on through it as I don’t know how big it will be nor how long, timing is hard and I don’t want to miss out on the subsequent rise. On the way down I always promised myself I’d get out at 160 and didn’t, on this way up I promised myself I’d get out when gold neared all time too as now. But I think PM’s are such a raging buy I am ignoring my own advice, I may rue it, but just look how fast silver has exploded up, to borrow your metaphor the canyon might be a ditch.

Bhargav. I have held omi for a very long time since It was Uruguay minerals and I had over a million shares. He may say Ironing out Uruguay was his best achievement, but
first despite talking up the Uruguay prospects, so expecting it to be saved by a rising gold price, the Uruguay aisc shot up making it unexpectedly unprofitable, despite gold rising
Then the next achievement was to close it unable to hang on for now, rather than mothball, when it would now be making $500 an ounce profit increasing the share price may be 30 fold or more
I have used my shares to create capital losses, and keep the last third for just that having pretty much written them off
Now the achievement would have been to come clean on the company’s plight in Uruguay rather than springing it as a surprise
Then keep keeping it going, for now
And not destroying almost all the value of the shares

Isn’t it extraordinary, we dreamed of this, nearly time to dust off those golden flip flops, I wish the likes of Uncertain were around to enjoy it, but you like I must be pinching yourself and your Cey heavy portfolio too into new all time high territory, like you I have kept adding in the long low days, and my mad portfolio is now 40% Cey but also 40% Hoc and Fres, as this is. A better company but I like silver. I have no exit strategy now as hard to time in and out, and I feel/hope that we are still in the PM foothills, tho expect a pause for profit taking pullback at the gold dollar all time high shortly but once through that..

Well a praise is what it got yesterday, as someone asked why, I think it needed a well earned little rest last couple of days, After its meteoric recent rise, but should be off again hopefully today or soon, and I agree if these PM prices hold should get through 300, and worth remembering all time high nearly £3 above this, also that we must be returning from being a gold miner with silver to a silver mine with gold, shame Arcata can’t just be switched on and off.

Hang on, still undervalued imho at these gold and silver prices and will be churning cash once mines are reopened fully. Even Arcata would be making profits at these prices. We are still under half all time high.

It has already had a huge rise so needs a pause

Well Tiger I am hanging onto this bucking bronco that always does the unexpected. Last time the tumbling market meant tumbling gold, next time who knows? I am expecting a pullback before we break 1900 but if, nay when, we do our shares should climb considerably further so I am holding 40% cey, 40% Hoc and Fres, 20% Japan and not a penny of cash. I think gold is at the start not the end, a twice or thrice in a lifetime opportunity that I have been waiting for. I may well be wrong in which case I will pootle along, but if I am right I see Cey at 300 Hoc at 500 and Fres at 2500. Probably Tiger you are the wise one but nothing ventured....

Yes but we soared earlier

As posted earlier I think it is worth noting gold didn’t rise in sterling today, so although they will make slightly more profit in dollars today than yesterday, no more in sterling. My view is that when gold hits £1500 we should be at 210 and rising. Like Tiger I added £25k yesterday, I didn’t say so as Prof is sworn to stop me adding but I just couldn’t resist selling some Hoc which had risen so far, then couldn’t resist buying the Hoc back with a Japanese Investment trust sale as silver soars. So ended with same Hoc and £25k more cey. Naughty naughty - I am 75% in PM miners now, but what risk and what fun, esp with all of you.
Tiger as noted before Hoc and Cey tend to play leapfrog. A week ago Hoc was below Cey. Now it is 60p or 30% above. Hence my move back to cey which should break 200 soon....we hope

Yes we are now 145th biggest company and rising a place or two each week, this will be speeded if the market falls but we don’t , As posted recently, I believe that we are ripe for a rerating to a PE of 15 which would mean a share price of around 230p with gold as now around its high of £1440 an ounce, and should get there quicker if gold rises especially to £1500 or breaks its dollar high

Having yesterday sold some of my very flighty Hoc which are soaring (up 40% in 4 days and since I reinvested the Cey April divi there 70%, since March 300%) to buy mor Cey, I hope yes. We’ve broken through the all time high, with a lot of effort, now let’s hope 200 is less of an impediment and we sail through , though gold hasn’t risen in a month in sterling which is what ultimately counts for us, hopefully the dollar roll will be big enough to more than counteract the dollar exchange rate fall

Yes I am feeling a bit silly, luckily it is only 3.5% of my Hoc and while Hoc has risen 2% since I sold Centamin, that I put it into, has risen 1% so with dealing cost I am so far only down about .05% or £300 on my total holding....will probably get worse....you are wise!
However although Hoc is stil great and was as posted a raging buy at 190p just last weds when Inmaculada reopening announced, I am worried about San Jose news today, and it taking even longer to ramp up, and the big political and exploration risks. Hoc is a fast and exciting mover and if the hoc Cey Gap ever narrows a bit I’ll move them back. Also Cey today broke its all time high so it should lurch up again, they seem to play leapfrog!

Well just sold £25k of Hoc and moved back to Centamin, the difference is now 60p and Hoc was below Cey a week ago when moved from Cey to Hoc. Maybe rash and too soon but Hoc has soared v fast. What do u think Tiger?

I use a GPS now, mine says we up a creek without a paddle (except us Cey holders). Here’s hoping we finally break to a new high and open water next week. Have a gt weekend all.
