Sold some this morn at 211 that bought on Fri at 150 with Cey divi as a 40% rise in 3 trading days is a lot and thinking there should be some profit taking and can get back in but maybe not...

Crockedskier totally sympathise. You are right and it may have a few goes at 190, it did again this morning but I feel it should break through soon; when it does the share should climb higher and through 200, so I am not brave enough to trade in case left out which would be as you say even more painful for us emotional investors than hanging on when we are losing. As to getting out I always said I would take half off if we reached 190 again. However as Keynes said when the facts change... and they have with gold's rise and this massive easing. I feel gold will try to challenge its all time high of 1896 but will need a few goes if it is to break through so that might be a time to get out and back in. But not now. Just my opinion, ride it for once it is not a bronco trying to throw us, who have hung on, off; it is a thoroughbred and 190 is just the next hurdle if a high one

Prof Lucky you with even more eggs than me in this basket tho I am nearly 80% in miners: most Cey , half as much Hoc, and half again of Fres; tho interesting play on silver if stays a precious rather than industrial metal when depression hits; glad I did reinvest the Cey Barclays divi I got on Mon at 176, tho still annoyed that I didn’t get it on Fri when I reinvested the sharecentre divi in Hoc at 150.5 that is now 200, sadly this was only 20% of my divi. Still we can hardly complain, another couple of days like this and I’ll be back to my 2017 peak, phew!
Then challenge when to take any off the table, maybe when gold tries its first attempt at 1900?
As frequently said Hoc is historically about 70% above Cey but they leapfrog each other when there is a setback like Cey output fall or Hoc Covid closures. They are currently level pegging with Hoc about to accelerate away but Cey is the safer

Thanks Tiger, that is hopeful. Well paid off overdraft with divi on money borrowed to buy in April, bought some Hoc on Friday and finally after 15 calls just got the Barclay Smartinvestor money and got in at 177 or the Fri close. I think Cey has further to go, Hoc further but couldn't bear to buy more at 25% more than I paid on Friday lunchtime. Sorry Prof to get more but given you have such a much higher percentage....

I imagine 190 will be a little stumbling block but in this market will hopefully be taken out this week, convincingly ie end of day not just intraday, then we are in blue sky. Hoc still undervalued as I have been saying, though up over 20% since Fri lunchtime, when put my sharecentre divi in. Historically the share price has been about 1.6 times Centamin’s but it is still be lower, despite news of all mines restarting. However at the current prices of both like Prof I don’t think I will be reinvesting my remaining divi, if I ever get it from Barclays, in either Hoc or Cey, awaiting Prof’s ever wise words what he did with his.

Hoc has a long way to go, been trying to buy a measly £3800 all morn and couldn’t get a quote even on that

Yes extra $400 an ounce, production up 50000 Oz and aisc should be down a bit with it so all in all if gold rises further we should break through all time high

Prof did you get your dividend and reinvest in Cey, lucky I borrowed that overdraft in April, which half the dividend will pay back, annoying not to be able to reinvest the rest yet, however of things go as we hope looking back in 3 months an entry price of 165 or 180 may seem little different. It is just annoying in Isa where you are limited in what you can add, though Tibbs is right, and be happy in the rise of the shares you do have

Yes should be as long as the 2019 report is as expected and it’s forward view. And look at silver, as said I was going to use the divi to buy Hoc, already up 10% since I got the sharecentre divi on Fri, I assume another 10% today, still furiously undervalued but returning to the very bottom of where it should be, and lovely if Cey could break its all time high and get above 190 this week, and not have its historic fall after disappointing report.

Centamin is up to no 136 in the Times weekly list of biggest companies, it had been hovering around 200 going in and out for couple of years but is now rising fast as others fall, if it rises 50% compared to the market (ie rises 20% and market falls 30%) it would make the Footsie 100 which is not impossible. Like the future mutation and growth of Sars-Covid 2 we just don’t know....but lovely to see it rising, let’s see what tomorrow’s report brings. Barclays SmartInvestor as usual claim they haven’t received the divi from Cey, so now as usual I’ll get on to Cey who’ll prove they have and eventually after a lot of haranguing after as week or so I’ll squeeze my divi out of them. Happy to have bought Hoc with my sharecentre divi (paid immediately) as Hoc promptly rose 7%, it is still ve undervalued compared to Cey because of its temporary stop, which will only hit profits this year, so has hit the shares unfairly hard and even happier to have borrowed to buy £20k of Cey in early April which I will use the Barclays divi to pay back, and is up 50%. Occasionally you win them...

Silver accelerating but worth remembering Hoc is now 70% gold

Yes Mr Bond they do always steal the money, last time they insisted they hadn’t received it yet from Cey, who I contacted and had evidence that they had; I just rang SmartInvestor up again for fly first my twice yearly complaint on the divi not being paid. I had it this morning in the Sharecentre and reinvested in Hoc, I hope wise. I have conflicting hopes, wanting Cey to soar but not till SmartInvestor deign to pay the divi as otherwise will buy more Hoc. If anyone in SmartInvestor gets it do tell me so I know, thanks.

Can you post when you get the dividend and which broker, Barclays Smartinvestor always pay late, I always have to make loads of calls and complain that other have had the divi when Barclays holders haven’t, so its good to be able to tell them.
I already reinvested my full isa allowance a month ago borrowing the money with a free overdraft that I will pay back with the general account dividend. However I will still have the isa and sipp divis and my partners isa to reinvest. Cey shares should rise today and into next week and it will be at least a week before I get the money, then where to reinvest? Cey, but is more fairly rated now, and may shoot up before I have the money, Hoc which is very cheap because of the closures and risk but has more room to rise back, I was also wondering about streamers Wheaton, that I once held, and more the newer Sandstorm. Finally in his brilliant daily posts Gary Wagner of the gold forecast (far best pundit for me) suggests nugt, which is a basket of miners with 3x gearing for a small punt, but that might be overdoing it.

It’ll have to rise over 10% tomorrow to end week at 155, however seems to be going the other way with worries about future POG, ongoing lockdowns, and the likely possibility of a general market collapse. And if you like them they are cheaper to buy!
