Activ2 to Activ34 Oct 2021 10:05
Ive been looking at the Interim Results paper this morning and reflecting on the views being expressed here. This is the content from the Interim Report:
'This US National Institute of Health (NIH) Phase II/III ACTIV-2 study is led by the NIAID-funded AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG). The trial is an adaptive, randomised, blinded, placebo- controlled trial which involved treating 110 patients with SNG001 in a home-based setting. Phase II is now completed, and a review is underway to determine whether SNG001 should be advanced into the Phase III part of the trial.'
Some are suggesting that SNG are not interested in this and that RM is downplaying it because we now know that SNG is more effective for more breathless patients. Perhaps the latter point is more likely a factor in SNG's thinking but I do not believe they have any visibility of what is going on in Activ2.
I suggest the reason there is no more on this in the Interim Results is down to RM not having any visibility of the trial data and that making assumptions about how it's going is a commercially sensitive area that cannot be covered in the Interim Report. If he says it's going well or badly without any visibility of what is going on inside the trial he is just looking for trouble when the results are released.
Also. With just 120 patients in Activ2 it means that that on it's own would not be enough to progress to EUA. SNG know this and therefore have outlined the strategy of waiting for P3 results which are far more material.
Just my thoughts as I see folks wavering and this caused me to dig a little to see if I could find any real data to support that. . We make our own investment decisions but I somehow feel that some of the downplaying of Activ2 is based on uncertainty rather than any actual facts. One person here actually stated that RM had said he's not interested in Activ2 outcomes. He did not.
