Debenhams will survive for sometime regardless, recent stress test figures have covered every possible scenario over the next three years

sorry but I think that could be a big mistake imo. Watch this space for sub 5p this week and then the bounce closer to Christmas. The short sellers showed how much power they have over this share with the drapers article. Still don't know who the alleged suppliers are that pulled the plug

I don't see the portfolio as toxic. there have been some in depth posts on here assessing Debs rent levels, which are better than the HOF position. the share is low because of the short selling. my prediction is the short sellers pull the rug mid next week around the Brexit turmoil, the lowest they will get to is 4.5p and anyone brave enough to buy will see healthy profits January onwards

all fair points. the way I see it profits will rise next year but a lot will be ploughed into expanding the online business as that's why Sergio with his Amazon experience is there after all. see everyone at 4.5p where I will be ready to go back in

the thing that has been missed out in this is that debs have a 500 million borrowing facility, 100 million wont effect that. the net profit will rise this year with no write downs

I don't think the shorters have the volume of shares to get it below 4p. Last time they got it down to 4.5p, cant see them breaking that level. only one way up after that level IMO

Christmas has come early!

this share price is way below what it should be and by January people will look back at the current buy under 7p as a steal

300million in discounts over two weeks across the store to get rid of the tat that's been hanging around and get better stock in for Christmas. its a better sale strategy than I was expecting and the share price is a give away too!

one of Debenhams business plan ambitions is a faster stock turn around for more efficient operating costs. This 14 day sale is a good step in the right direction. As former vice president of amazon I feel confident Sergio will get stock moving. Christmas adds are ramping up and the only thing keeping the share price down are the shorts

the fall is short selling imo. this share is a day traders dream with this amount of movement daily

Overall good sentiment from black Friday will push this share up regardless of how much Debenhams get involved if at all imo

Ma and PG are red herrings imo. That being said this is a bargain basement buy that must be attracting attention. This share is going to be ragged by shorts until Christmas and then either be bought out by a major concern or rise too high to make it a consideration anymore. The management team have a solid plan to reduce rents, expand online and strengthen the balance sheet. Once Christmas is out of the way the short term position will lose its grip

I don't think it will drop as low as last time, but there's no solid news to make the price the drop so it has to be shorts. There's been a couple of articles published but just going over old news. Im topping up if it goes below 6. not may shares with this level of movement to make money

the drapers article should go to the press complaints commission. No details of which suppliers were pulling the plug and the other news agencies were reporting on drapers as a source

im predicting 8p plus by the end of next week

I also think in between those points there's going to be a few shorts. there's no way I'm selling until after christmas

Thanks knigelk & Auson. its good to hear some sensible advice on here. I think in the short term this share will have no problem gaining traction above 8p and I'm going to stick with 9.5p over the next few weeks

imo if you take out the shorts the real value of this share is 9.5p at present, rising with good performance over christmas

there's no chance this share will stop climbing until 8p

a lot of people will be looking at this share now
