There's nothing to say anywhere that the company isn't solid as far as borrowing goes. Still think this share is being manipulated though and not ruling out a drop from shorts late on today keeping the price low

if there was any major news it would have probably already been leaked. I'm expecting an average trading update. if the share price drops further today I might consider going back in, but otherwise it is too much of a risk in the short term

the way its going you will have no worries buying back in at 4.7 and lower today

until this share attracts major investors its a ship without a rudder that can be exploited by short selling

its going to tank again from short selling and drop below the 5p mark

Yes showsnowman this share is being heavily manipulated and has been for the last three months and it is a position that wont change for the short term, until larger institutional investors are willing to look at it again, when they have evidence that the new business plan is working. until then this share remains at the mercy of short selling as no major investor is going to take a chance on it and also receive no dividend for the near future. all that said though I am going to continue to top up on this share with caution when it hits the lows as a longterm gamble!
My prediction is it will rise momentarily after the trading update and then the short sellers pull the rug!!!!!!

4.8 is a solid buy longterm but beware this share has been heavily shorted over the last couple of months.

4th of January is a big day, not because Debenhams are going to close, but because we actually start to get some facts rather than all the speculation.
Would anyone really trust what Mike Ashleys says at the moment? The high street is dying but hes trying his best to buy up as many leases as possible!

my view and I might be wrong is that the short sellers will have accounted for the general support for this share coming on the 3rd and so to make it work, it will rise before that. Either way I'm happy with a position of under 4p with the last top up and holding. I also feel for any investor that has been in this share long term with a higher sp as I got shafted by mining a few years back but it was a totally different scenario

I never saw it dropping this low, but it is too much of a bargain for me to resist topping up again. I don't think the Christmas figures will be exceptional, but I do think they will be solid enough to improve confidence and looking at the business from an Asset management perspective the SP and market cap is completely detached from reality

at this rate this years profits could potentially be higher than the market cap which is a crazy situation

still no facts on who the alleged suppliers were that mysteriously withdrew as far as I'm aware and Debenhams are fully stocked for Christmas

couldn't have put it better. My opinion is that MA wont get what he wants and at that point the share will start to recover consistently. the trades don't make any sense from an investor point of view. one went through this morning for a sell at one of the lowest prices of the day valued at £72k

I also think its fair to argue the sp is totally detached from reality. Its only my opinion but i believe there will be increased profits this year and IMO none of this talk of Debenhams failing relates to any of the figures i saw in the previous annual reports

this share is strongly dividing opinion, but yes I believe the company has weathered the worst of the storm. If you are shorting this share lse2000 I would give that serious thought before the 4th of January IMO

as I made clear in my earlier post although I feel this share will recover I am only investing what I can afford to lose so no I absolutely wouldn't invest 50K

yes but Debenhams are in the fortunate position that they don't need Mike ashleys money. The whole thing was a press stunt by MA to pile further pressure on the board so that he can make a takeover bid.
