Egypt is currently in the process of putting in place a new mining code as the old was the same production 'sharing' agreement that currently exists for oil and gas and that just doesn't work for mining. This could be holding things up. State theft and bureaucracy, a deadly combination.

TSX chart, look where Friday's price bounced off the intersection of TWO downward trendlines that have been controlling the price for months. I don't think this is going higher tomorrow. Unless of course some stellar news is announced. Could South Ramadan have struck it big? Is that due for completion yet?

Actually there were 733,000 shares traded on AIM on Friday and another 214,000 traded on the TSX. So nearly 1 million.

Just bloody well get SD online and get those exploration programmes going. SDX don't need a monster acquisition like this.

Unless the BP assets can make money down to circa $20 oil I think an acquisition of them right now might well be folly.

Dude, seriously. I'm not even going to bother talking to you any more. All I will respond to you in future is stuff relating to SDX operations.

There was also a gap up today from 37.5p which hasn't closed and another gap on the TSX today from 71c to 72c. I hate gaps and these will probably have to close before we go anywhere else.

I find it quite remarkable how close this got to touching a rising trendline that was established in 2016. This still hasn't broken out of a downward channel that has been in existence since around May last year. If it does break above it that would be very bullish. If it doesn't I hope we aren't going back down again to retest that lower rising trendline. Could happen, I don't know. I did use this chart to time my recent purchases of 34.5p and 37p. Not completely useless despite what some will say.

Everything oil and gas related was tanking, it was fairly easy to see it wasn't really related to SDX's performance even though missing the 2018 exit rate was a bit of a screw up and PW must have known in advance. He really does need to stop overpromising on timelines, he does it constantly.

The 30's really was a gift you're right. Hopefully a lot here managed to bag some extras. I'm annoyed to see this gap up today though as it likely means we'll have to revise 37.5p (yesterday's high). Hopefully we'll hit it today as I don't want to be back down at 37.5p in say a year's time.

Tigris, something I've been wondering regarding the liquids. Do you know if the contract price of gas INCLUDE any liquids that SD produces? I've not seen a breakdown anywhere and I did email the company but of course they never responded.

I too come up with circa US$12m for after tax net cashflow to SDX after SDX is put on production. This is significant cashflow to a company like SDX but the real value will come from bolt on gas (likely again with liquids) discoveries that can be tied in to the central processing facility with minimal extra cost.

Already done my scooping at 34.5p and 37p so it's not me. It was a good reversal on the TSX last night with it being down to CAD$0.61 at one point but ending the day on a high at CAD$0.65. I hope this is the bottom. If oil stays where it is or increases then it probably will be.

What is positive about E&P being pushed back because SD couldn't be brought online in time to fund it??? I said the positive was that they weren't going to sacrifice shareholders via dilution to fund the work.

So my post was actually a positive spin on a negative, with the negative being E&P push back due to failing to get SD online and the positive being that there will at least be no dilution at such pathetic share prices.

Come out and say what exactly?

The one silver lining from this;

A blind bit of difference to the share price. Nothing seems to make sdx go up when it's in a downtrend. But you are right, the company's and PW's credibility is damaged by this. Supposedly the processing facility in Egypt needed modification to handle higher than expected volumes of liquids. While that's sounds good we don't know just how much higher the volumes are.

You have to wonder whether having hypothetically signed the BP deal off earlier and then having the oil price fall out from under them whether the share price here would have performed any differently than it has done. Basically all oil stocks have been smashed. I don't think having South Disouq come online at the end of this year would have made a blind bit of difference either.
