Seeing Machines has announced another program win for #driver #occupant #monitoring #systems #DMS #OMS. "An existing Tier-1 customer" with further references to OMS, #incabin, #comfort and #convenience (in addition to #safety) implies the Magna International mirror.
"An additional program with an existing [customer]" narrows the field to probably BMW Group, Renault, Stellantis and Volkswagen AG. "A large European-based #global automotive group (#OEM) customer" probably points to BMW (maybe specifically for the #Mini models) or VW.
The words "regulatory requirements" with mentions neither of #NCAP nor of #GSR might point to a win in #China, possibly supported with references to "entry level vehicles." That would be reinforced with a #SoP target date in 2024, and the comment "extended reach of our technology across the global passenger vehicle landscape."
Best guess based on all information provided is therefore VW in China, won by Magna for the occupant monitoring mirror. If correct, that would be the first win for Seeing Machines specifically for China and a significant market development. More will become clear in the coming months as more nominations are announced.
Seeing Machines has declared wins across 10 individual OEMs, covering more than 160 distinct vehicle models. The inclusion of the words "individual," and "distinct" is intentional and implies tighter definitions of those terms than used by Smart Eye. Further analysis of the comparisons between the two suppliers for cumulative design win totals to the end of 2022 will follow after #CES
