Wrightbus - DMS Fatigue & Distraction17 Jun 2026 09:46
At Wrightbus, safer streets aren't just a target, they're a growing reality.
Working closely with Transport for London as part of the #VisionZero strategy, which aims to eliminate all deaths and serious injuries on London's transport network by 2041, our team have helped develop buses that are already making a difference on London's roads today.
Our StreetDeck #Electroliner 2024 was the first bus in the UK to meet TfL's 2024 Bus Safety Standard, and the Next Gen Electroliner family continues that legacy across the capital.
Now, Phase 2 introduces improvements designed to enhance driver safety an wellbeing:
🔴 New systems that will provide visual, audio and touch alerts when fatigue or distraction is detected. TfL will go beyond national regulations by activating alert systems from 5kph (instead of 20kph), alongside improved monitoring and reporting to support driver wellbeing.
🔴 A redesigned, ergonomic cab will improve comfort, inclusivity and security for drivers - supporting safer driving. This includes immediate design improvements and longer-term research to inform future standards.
Wrightbus are dedicated to supporting Transport for London by remaining at the forefront of innovation, ensuring every bus we build is safer for drivers, passengers and everyone sharing the road.
