The last great unknown in the European #DMS roll out is vans. This is not an inconsiderable market, with about 2 million sold per year in Europe. Vans typically have a "closed cab" with a solid back wall disconnected from the rear bay, which is why so many vans do not have a rear view mirror at all. One trend is the use of a full display mirror (FDM) linked to a rear view camera (circled on the back door in red) to display an image seen out the back. This makes reversing so much safer. The rear view mirror market is owned by Gentex Corporation and Magna International, so what is apparent is that both companies can offer OEMs a replacement of a standard FDM with a DMS-integrated FDM for instant #GSR compliance with #ADDW. This can probably be done "after manufacture" so we likely won't see much happening on this until nearer the GSR deadline in July.

Shown here is the 2026 Opel #Vivaro van. In this example it is obviously easier, faster and cheaper to integrate DMS for GSR compliance by swopping the FDM to a DMS-integrated mirror, than for Opel to integrate DMS into the A pillar or steering console as we are seeing done for their passenger car portfolio. So as I see it, Smart eye like yo announce every new model while SEE just wait to announce KPIs without announcing these new car model additions from Magna/VW in their reports.

From an investors point of view if they knew of these new car models are launching with SEE tech that would be of interest but as usual we try to stay under the radar ! Just hope this strategy pays off as it hasn’t so far.

Ok so if you think about it what is won is won right now.

Mitsubishi & SEE might win some serious business in Japan, that could catapult a out of a dreadful 3p status.

We’ve just published Valeo’s sales for Q1 2026, confirming our guidance.

Sales were 5.1 billion euros, up 1.3% LFL with all of our Divisions outperforming global automotive production, demonstrating our operational agility in an environment marked by headwinds.

In view of the tensions in the Middle East and pressures on the electronics supply chain, our teams have been fully mobilized to ensure business continuity, limiting cost overruns and engaging in constructive dialogue with each of our customers. We are continuing to rigorously manage our costs and capital expenditure. We therefore confirm our guidance for 2026.

Bolstered by the strength of our order book and our recent commercial successes, particularly in China, we are confidently preparing for a return to growth in 2027, in line with the ambitions we set out in our strategic plan Elevate 2028.
