Hopefully with Valeo & DMS with SEE 🙏
BREAKING: Renault Group announces plans to build electric vans - part of its Flexis partnership with Volvo AB and CMA CGM - in its #Sandouville plant in northern France. Another €300 million invested in the e-van project and - importantly - 550 new hires planned over the next four years. This is the same Renault that unveiled a made-in-France new electric #R5 just a month ago. Speaking of Sandouville, one employee told group CEO Luca de Meo, French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire and the Mayor of Le Havre Edouard Philippe, who are visiting the site on Friday:

pmg liked this post, is this possible confirmation of us being in renault ?
if you are driving a renault scenic, you are driving the car of the year 2024 equipped with valeo technologies!
shaped with a edgy geometrical design and a ****geneous lit, the valeo rear lamp system underlines perfectly the new renault scenic futuristic design.
and this is not the only valeo product equipping this car! driver monitoring system, virtual key, front and rear wipers are part of it too.
congratulations to all the valeo teams working on this car!

So another month goes by with no material share price increase & we will be lucky to stay at 5p without any news or momentum.
We keep going on about the potential of this company but the share price is not responding to anything. Even good news is bad for the SP.
Anyone speculating on a buyout is delusional, the smart money is sitting on the sidelines until management prove they can reach profitability.
SEE could easily change the narrative by announcing a win or two or leveraging more on the back of the wins with BMW/VW.
Whoever is in charge of marketing & promotion needs firing as Terry & CB are better advocates of this company than those in charge. Unbelievable really how SmartEye are capable of doing a better marketing job than us at the moment even with all there troubles.
So CB saying we will be in two Ford models so far confirmed for 2024/5.
Look at production numbers for Ford Explorer & Lincoln;
As was the case for most automotive models, the Ford Explorer enjoyed a bit of an up and down year in 2023 in terms of production numbers. Output for the long-running crossover plummeted in October – from 22,623 units in September to just 173 units at the Chicago Assembly plant – though that dip can be blamed on the now-resolved United Auto Workers strike that shut down the facility for weeks. However, a new deal was reached later that month, after which Ford Explorer production increased to 19,735 units in November, then 20,120 units in December to close out the year. According to FoMoCo’s latest sales report
Jan Ford production numbers:
Lincoln sales increased 20.27 percent to 6,985 units:
Lincoln Aviator sales increased 58.35 percent to 1,859 units
Lincoln Corsair sales increased 27.15 percent to 2,056 units
Lincoln Nautilus sales increased 26.49 percent to 2,034 units
Lincoln Navigator sales decreased 26.47 percent to 1,036 units
2025 Ford Motor Company #Explorer confirmed with DMS located above the steering column. The module shape suggests this is a variant (possible Gen2) of the Magna International (actually Veoneer) DMS module seen in the #Mustang #MachE but looks identical to the module seen in the 2025 Lincoln #Aviator. Based on DMS illumination patterns seen in the videos, this points to a two model design win for Seeing Machines, and Ford Authority reports both models are set to commence production at the Chicago Assembly plant in mid-May. Link: https://lnkd.in/g-72tpfN.
If Ford specified "hands-on-wheel" detection in this system along with head pose and eye gaze, it would be the first DMS implementation set to get a "Good" rating from Insurance Institute for Highway Safety / Highway Loss Data Institute.
In 2024, it looks like BMW Group, Ford and Volkswagen Group are the brands driving DMS cars on road production volumes for Seeing Machines.

Epic Sandy, absolutely nailed it 👌
I think SmartEye are offering a cheap low cost solution just to win business but then struggle to execute.
This obviously affects SEE as some OEMs will just make a choice based on price not quality. We really need the RVM to be a hit, as that can influence the next design wins for the future.
Good strategy , strong partnerships & quality DMS will win the day !
Response from Tim Edwards Co-Founder of SEE :
Stu Q;
What do these test say about the quality of the Seeing Machines DMS? Are you saying that despite the years of development your DMS offering is still falling short?
Tim response;
Always room for improvement Stu... We supply the sensing technology for the driver monitoring system. The way our technology is reworked, shaped and integrated into different vehicle systems is not entirely up to us, we are driven by the requirements of our customers, mainly Tier1s. We obviously do our utmost with our customers to ensure quality can be as high as possible and we work with safety bodies and we supply the science to help the industry understand what good can look like. What does this all say about Seeing Machines technology? I think it demonstrates that we offer the most reliable and carefully engineered technology of any DMS technology supplier, but also that DMS systems have plenty of room to improve. We struggle to deal with the fact that every OEM wants to dictate a different camera solution, has their own HMI strategy and price structure. The end result is that outcomes are variable.
Looks like we have a continued seller into any share rise that pushes price back down to 5p.
Crazy that this stock is still at 5p, frustrating but good to see CEO buying. Be even better to get Martin Ive & Lombard following, let’s see over next few days.
Valeo have won two awards( might be with SEE) , BMW & VW now in production & we will have a Collins Aerospace blue label product launching in May.
All positive momentum.
Martin Ive will be next
Another reason why they should target Air India :
Why is the DGCA firm on new rest rules for pilots? | Explained
What are the changes to pilots’ rest norms introduced by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation? Why were they brought about? When is the deadline for implementation? Why are the airlines unhappy? What are the pilots saying?
The story so far: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has rejected a request by airlines to postpone new pilot duty norms, reiterating that the revised schedule will have to be implemented from June 1. The DGCA had notified the revised rules governing duty hours and rest periods for pilots in January.
The new rules provide enhanced weekly rest for pilots which has gone up from 36 hours to 48 hours. The rules have also reduced night-time flying, which is known to contribute to fatigue and impact alertness levels as sleep is displaced from the optimum part of the circadian rhythm.
Earlier, a pilot could carry out six landings during night-time flying, which has now been reduced to two. The night-time shift has been extended by an hour to 6 a.m, from the earlier midnight to 5 a.m. The maximum flight duty period for flights encroaching night-time has also been reduced from 10 hours to eight hours. While pilots have broadly welcomed the changes, their demand for a ban on two consecutive night duties went unheeded. Pilots say that flying a second night without a reset of the circadian rhythm is extremely stressful. Consecutive night duties result in accumulation of sleep debt and an increase in fatigue related impairment. According to IATA’s Fatigue Management Guide for airlines, recovery of waking alertness and performance after accumulating a sleep debt may take longer than two nights of unrestricted sleep.
Pilots also pointed out that airlines are only required to publish the crew roster “sufficiently in advance” and the time frame has not been defined unambiguously. The draft rules placed for stakeholder comments had proposed that rosters be finalised seven days in advance.

Why DGCA is Firm on New Rest Rules for Pilots from June 1; Will This Increase Flight Ticket Prices?
Curated By: News Desk
WHAT IS PILOT FATIGUE AND WHY IS IT FATAL?
The aviation regulator fined Air India two days ago with Rs 80 lakh for violating rules relating to flight duty time limitations (FDTL) and fatigue management system (FMS) for pilots. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is firm on implementing the new rules on pilot fatigue from June 1, which could be dangerous for flight operations and have a negative impact on the crew.
Regarding the Air India case, DGCA said in a statement, “The analysis of reports and evidences revealed that M/s Air India Limited operated flight(s) with both flight crew aged above 60 years flying together in few instances, which is a violation of Sub Rule (2) of Rule 28 A of the Aircraft Rules, 1937”.
The DGCA found Air India “deficient” in providing adequate weekly rest to pilots and crews – before and after the long-haul flights, and during layovers, which could potentially lead to human errors on flight. Additionally, the spot audit also revealed instances of “exceeding duty periods, wrongly marked training records, and overlapping duties, among other violations” as mentioned in an Indian Express report.
When a pilot suffers from lack of alertness and degradation in mental health and physical performance, it can affect his sense of judgment and timing, which can lead to a human error.
https://www.news18.com/explainers/why-dgca-is-firm-on-new-rest-rules-for-pilots-from-june-1-will-this-increase-flight-tickets-8827034.html
The DGCA defines flight pilot fatigue as a physiological and psychological state of tiredness and weariness experienced by pilots due to prolonged periods of wakefulness and/or insufficient restorative sleep.
The term pilot fatigue was identified when a pilot documented it during his flight over Atlantic Ocean in 1927. Charles Lindberg wrote, “My mind clicks on and off… I try letting one eyelid close at a time while I prop the other open with my will. My whole body argues dully that nothing, nothing life can attain, is quite so desirable as sleep. My mind is losing resolution and control.”
The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has identified pilot fatigue as a crucial factor for large aeroplanes, and identifies it as “state of well-being and fitness for duties”.
This guy know his onions & predicted this with SmartEye & hopefully his predictions of SEE being the next ARM come true.
On March 21, Smart Eye completed a directed share issue of approximately SEK 150 million. This marks a revision to prior guidance that profitability would be reached in 4Q24. The signs of the coming pivot were evident in the 4Q23 report last month, which guided that #automotive revenues were up significantly in 2023, but driven by #NRE and aftermarket AIS, not license revenues (cars on road). NRE is typically low (or negative) margin business. License volume is now being driven by Korea (Hyundai) but analysis shows many of those are the awards with lowest revenues per design win (license revenue assumed to be about €3 per car).
Developments show the limitations of a focus on "design wins" - which generate great PR and a narrative of leadership, but don't pay the bills - versus a focus on delivery, which generates license revenues and signals a path to profitability in quarterly data. Seeing Machines is the only supplier to publish quarterly cars on road data, and reported about 815,000 cars on road for 2023.
All of the #driver #monitoring #system suppliers face the same funding and operational hurdles:
1. Don't run out of cash.
2. Achieve profitability.
3. Continue to invest in an #innovation, #technology and #featureset #roadmap to stay competitive.
(3) is vital for long-term survival; but delays profitability in (2); which increases risks of losing investor confidence and not having enough cash to survive (1).
Which is why understanding that underneath the blizzard of tech jargon and PR, quarterly cars on road data is the most important metric of all.
Based on guidance, Seeing Machines is set to reach profitability sometime in 2024, with Smart Eye now guiding profitability sometime in 2025. Tobii's short term challenge is to close its raise associated with the acquisition of DTS Autosense.
Smart Eye's two eye-catching announcements in the last couple of months have propelled its share price upwards. These are (a) becoming a "software tier-1" and (b) an agreement to supply AIS for "after-manufacture" delivery in commercial vehicles. Both come with increased commercial risk, requiring greater short-term investment and operational changes to mitigate

SEE ..have a clear path to profitability so let them execute on what business they have captured. Yes we can do with some more contract wins & sure Valeo awards will trickle through to an RNS or two in the coming weeks/months.
Anyone that follows SmartEye will know that they are not to be trusted with their financials or long term ambitions. They continually denied that they needed more money & made a massive u turn weeks after this denial.
Be great if SEE put a massive RNS out tomorrow to stick it right up them !
Here’s hoping 🤞
Colin Bardem - Spot On once again
#technology suppliers (Seeing Machines, Smart Eye, and Cipia) are all independent, publicly listed small companies having to survive in a world of >5% interest rates and a rapidly rising cost of money. Vital is a path to profitability, matched with significant investment in a continued #innovation #roadmap to ensure technology leadership for the next ten years. Threading that needle will be extremely challenging, and not all three suppliers will make it. Profit centers beyond automotive will likely be the main differentiators to survival, underscoring the importance of strategies in the #fleet and #aviation sectors.
You'll have to pick your own survivors in this market. Capitalism is brutal, but cash is always king. Companies do not die because they make a loss. They die because they run out of money.
Colin Barnden spot on as usual !
