It's always about money. They will either be looking to get cheaper shares or are shorting and hoping to make money that way. Drilling in Botswana could be announced at any time in my opinion, but I'd be surprised if it's not within the next week or two. That will be the main focus while we wait for Anglo to announce the deal has been officially finalised.

I've had Diamond Geazer on filter because it's pretty obvious (to me at least) that it's just another deramper account. Just thought I'd see what he's up to.... trying to suggest we are still far away from any activity to discourage any buying. Total rubbish. Back on filter.

1. The soil sampling in Botswana is about 500 locations which based on previous surveys should take about 2 weeks, in which case it should be finished already. Once they have had a chance to analyse the results they should be in a position to drill… so maybe a couple of weeks?

2. Nick has already mentioned a possible acquisition in Zambia (relatively inexpensive) and we should now have the funds available to do that. There may also be other opportunities potentially in Botswana?

Dorfan, it’s certainly possible we might see some early stage Cobalt production in this set of numbers, presumably they have been doing some test work before commissioning the production circuit. Even if it’s not much in monetary terms it will be a big positive in terms of publicity and what we can expect in the next year. Hopefully they will also be able to announce that Roan is fully ramped up when the results are released, it must be very close by now.

Just looking back at my numbers I realise I was using out of date figures for the PGM basket, Rhodium is much higher than it was in H1. Also I wasn’t including any contribution from the Eastern Limb with it’s higher Rhodium content.

When I recalculate it comes out to between US$32 million and US$36 million, depending on the contribution from the Eastern Limb, which would give an overall figure of roughly US$54 million to US$58 million.

Anyway, hopefully we will soon have some real numbers to look at!

My overall figure is very similar to yours (US$52.5 million), although my figure for PGM’s is nearer to US$30 million because roughly 4,000 oz will be subject to the 40% JV reduction.

While we await some news I thought it might be interesting to have a look at how JLP has faired compared with SLP and THS over the last 12 months. The plot is showing percentage change in each share and we can see that THS has certainly performed better over the last 6 months but at the moment there is surprisingly little difference between the three companies. In fact SLP is the worst performing of the 3 so maybe things are not so bad as some might have us believe! It will be interesting to see how they compare over the next 12 months....

You can check back through the RNS’s but from memory they have drilled as late as mid to late December. Obviously each year will be vary but the rains typically start to ramp up in November and are heaviest in December-March.

Anglo American transaction

During the period, Arc continued to progress its joint venture discussions with Anglo American plc in respect to its copper and cobalt projects. In May 2022, the Company announced that it has signed a Letter Agreement with Anglo American whereby Anglo American will have the right to retain a 70% ownership in the Joint Venture company for an aggregate investment by Anglo American of up to USD 88.5 million including cash consideration of up to USD 14.5 million. This transaction is subject to regulatory and shareholder approval but this transaction is a major validation of our geological modelling and work to date and now paves the way for the execution of a comprehensive exploration and development programme which will unlock significant value for the group.

Casa transaction

In 2020, Arc entered into a sale and purchase agreement with Golden Square Equity Partners Limited ("Golden Square") for the sale of its interest in Casa Mining Limited ("Casa") which has a 73.84% stake in the Misisi gold claims in the Democratic Republic of Congo ("DRC"). Despite Golden Square's best efforts, they failed to raise the funds for the acquisition and were subsequently replaced by Regency Mining Limited ("Regency"). As announced on 29 April 2022, Arc concluded a transaction for its interest in Casa and accepted 3 million shares in Tingo Inc. (OTC:TMNA) in settlement of the USD 5 million loan note.

It's no coincidence that he revived Kendrick Resources after being 'retired' from JLP... he needs to make up the income shortfall :-)

Just looking at todays trades it's pretty clear that the small fish are being gobbled up by the bigger fish. They are taking advantage of market volatility to sweep up loose shares. It's annoying to think that after all the research and steadily investing I could have just waited and bought in at the same price or cheaper... but in the long run I don't think I'll be dwelling on it too much!

I noticed that BeMetals have started a drilling program for this season (announced today). They are situated about 100km to our SW, near the Angolan border so not necessarily representative of conditions at our licenses but suggests it won't be long before we have good drilling conditions. Now we just need that announcement so they can get the show on the road!

My guess would be that they will announce a drilling plan at the same time as the official JV announcement, assuming they have been hard at work on one whilst waiting for the lawyers to wrap things up.

The latest plan I saw for the northern refining strategy was that there are three distinct areas, Luanshaya (Project Lechwe), Kitwe (Project Elephant) and Mufulira which was being tested to confirm grades with a plan to supplement Project Elephant at Kitwe. It may be that in the longer term they plan to have a concentrator at Mufulira as well to avoid trucking the material to Kitwe.

My first thought was like Jonah that it may have something to do with Black Mountain after having seen the short video of Leon and Paul Kabuswe (Zambian minister for mines) discussing that. There is also a **** heap (although not as large as black mountain) at Mufulira so if they are planning to get involved in processing those it would make sense to have a dedicated concentrator at Mufulira too. Material from black mountain would probably be processed through the nearby Kitwe concentrator.

I don’t think it’s a copy and paste article, there is information in there which I haven’t seen anywhere else. It may be that the interview was done before the last company update when the copper ramp up was moved from May to July. Anyway some interesting points in there.
