Nobody explores for and builds a mine based on the current price of the resource. If you think Arc will still be around when the mine(s) gets into production you really don’t understand the company MO. At the first sign that we are actually sitting on a big resource there will be a bun fight to buy out our 30%… that’s when the Voisey Bay scenario could kick in. The current price of copper is entirely irrelevant.

If you know that warrants are due to expire shortly and most are likely to be exercised then you are going to wait to see if you can get a cheaper entry price… it’s human nature to always want something cheaper even when it’s already a bargain. That window is about to close so those waiting before buying in will soon have a decision to make. Of course there’s always the danger you wait too long and Anglo make the JV announcement before you buy in…. Life’s always about choices :-)

For the benefit of any new investors or potential investors wondering why Anglo American have agreed to the best deal a junior explorer has ever negotiated with a major, here are my thoughts on the licenses in Zambia:

I'm not recommending anyone invests but I DO recommend you try and understand exactly what the potential is here. There are a minimum of 6 targets any of which has the potential to be a commercial deposit (that's before considering the secondary targets). Exploration always has some degree of risk but in this case the risk is already mitigated by the shallow high grade oxide discovery at Cheyeza East which more than justifies our current share price. In short there is no downside in my view. We get a free carry on the drilling costs, we get cash up front. The upside? That is anyones guess but finding a single tier 1 deposit will give us a minimum 30% share in a multi-billion dollar asset... our licenses hold the potential for more than one.

Of course you may prefer to listen to the various trolls, traders and twats who always gather when the share price stalls for a while....

2019 season, drilling started 12th June, 2020 it started 29th June…. So once the final agreements are done it should be soon after that I would expect.

Rio have an application on a license near African Pioneer, maybe they think being much closer to our licenses is the better option!

Would you rather be invested before the final sign off is completed or wait until it’s announced and then try and get in? I know which I’d rather be! If all you can see is the short term share price then I don’t think in all honesty you can call yourself an investor. Some of us have been here years because we saw the obvious potential here, Anglo know how good our licenses are which is why we got such an amazing deal out of them. Those with patience will be well rewarded… those who don’t… well, they end up like Peggy, selling out at the lowest price and then coming back to whinge about it! :-)

Just listened to the Investor Call again and yes it's pretty clear that they want all of our licenses!

One thing it did clarify though, we must still be in possession of 28700-HQ-LEL via Afrimin Resources although they have removed any reference to it on the website and avoided talking about it. Nick said near the beginning of the call that our licenses cover an area of some 800 km2. If you add up all of the licenses (including Afrimin) and remove the area around Kalaba it equates to just over 800 km2. I suspected we still had it but it's nice to get some confirmation... plenty of targets to explore in that license too!

I noticed a while ago that the Southern Zaco block, 23005-HQ-LEL, is now pending renewal, but the Northern Zaco block, 23004-HQ-LEL is still active. Both blocks have a license expiry of 26/08/2022 so why the difference? Maybe it’s just that the process was started at different times for the two blocks but that doesn’t make much sense to me.

Maybe it’s due to this line from the RNS:
“ The Agreement sets out the core principles under which the Joint Venture will be formed subject to satisfactory due diligence, a restructuring of the Company's assets in preparation for the Joint Venture…”

I don’t see anywhere that the JV will include all of our licenses unless it was mentioned elsewhere? Could it be that the licenses are going to be split with only some included in the JV? Maybe I’m overthinking things…. Any views?

I was looking more into the differences seen in the PGM split between the data for the Western Limb and the Eastern Limb and came across this article. There is a huge amount of information in there and I haven’t had a chance to read it all yet but thought it was worth sharing.

The PGM split that WHI are using is most typical of the Merensky Reef which is generally higher in Platinum. The tailings we are processing from the Eastern Limb seem to be more typical of the UG2 reef, which has lower platinum but higher palladium and rhodium. 12% rhodium seems to be right at the top limit of what is found in the UG2 reef… probably not a coincidence! It seems that Jubilee are very much picking the best tailings to go after.

In some cases the Merensky and UG2 reefs are mined together so that may further complicate things when trying to figure out the PGM split.

Another interesting point is that on the Western Limb the Merensky Reef is mostly mined out and they are going after UG2 so there could be the possibility of high Rhodium content tailings in the West too in the future.
