that's completely true. but once they decide that they need to invest in something, they throw vast amounts at it.

take the road infrastructure, hospitals, schools.

its only now they are fully realizing that they have to develop their navy and stand alone and not rely on RN

bubbles unlike others, i fully get your logic for irish gov support and it should not be dismissed so lightly or entirely. it would sit well with their cross border/ all ireland agenda/framework. it would also give them direct control and access to port and fabrication facilities, if they ever get their finger out and properly develop their coastguard and navy, that is.

but, they are a government, and so more likely to just sit on their **** and watch what happens, just like all other governments.

There will be minimal value in anything they sell off. The assets are in the new 77m hall which they cant touch.other value is in the FSS contract. the new link road at Arnish making it more valuable, and if they are to reapply and fast track UKEF and get it on the strength of them now having scrapped JWood/ The Board/ Scilly ferry along with some other tweaks (Methil/Florida/plus scrap cruise fitouts) there is a chance of a future. Will it happen like that, prob not. they care mostly about one thing; and that's getting dosh for their paymaster.

i.m.o. it is fundamental and interlinked with the success of CMET. (leaving aside funding/drilling results)

What other plan B have they got aside from Oluvil Port and how can they commence drilling until this is resolved fully.

Could this be why they are holding off drilling.? The excuse of elections is i.m.o. exactly that-an excuse.

I'm afraid I cant see your logic on this. Groat,Zotova and Bond take the rap along with JW -all quite rightly,but not Arun? I know nothing of him and I'm sure he's a pleasant person and capable, but the failure to get UKEF i.m.o. would always mean the CFO should take some blame, no matter what. being JW right hand man for so long, so had more ability to influence and reign him in than anyone else..

The difference of the German Gov attitude to supporting their chosen industry(esp Auto) is quite embarrassing to how the UK Gov's operate. Energy Security worst in Europe, still no further with mod prime contractor status for NI Co's.,still no further with Dev. of Euston project.,FIpass in Limbo,recruitment started for mod?,strikes at RFA,Docking of aircraft carriers still up in air, would all these things be allowed happen in Germany?

So the Gov want the market to decide the future of H+W, so they should also not be interfering with any private individual or institution that makes approaches. wouldn't be surprised if Rep of Ire Gov are looking in with interest at matters. peanuts to them the way they spend money plus a political coop as well as developing their All Ireland Investment Strategy..
