Cashflow... it's critical to any business worth its salt and it's precisely why CPI is being brutalised today.

We now know for certain CPI has spent the Capita One cash but we also know there's a big hole where there should have been cash incoming... question is will AH reach for the emergency cord to bring in cash? To help navigate CPI through the recession it's experiencing (it will be feeling like a recession to CPI employees and the board even if economy is not technically in recession yet; CPI sales being booked are insufficient enough to keep this business afloat, and they're still falling too).

Could there be an RI on the cards?

I don't think it's possible to call the bottom here because IMV CPI board are steering this company into the wall at high speed. If they seriously thought they could get away with saying this line:

"Looking forward, we have opportunities which deliver AI solutions with the hyperscalers worth more than £5bn within the pipeline."

They're as deluded as a spotty 20yr old standing naked in the dragons den and trying to fob off Deborah Meaden, Peter Jones, Sara Davies et al!

Stupmy - I've broadly agreed with many of your calls but... I don't on this one. IMV CPI is in BIG trouble here. Sorry.

2 mins to go... but IMO the minutes and press conference will prove far more brutal than they were over in the USA... Some flagging businesses are really going to suffer today/tomorrow and over the weeks ahead. The good ones will prevail though.

Housing market is going to fall 2.5%-8.5% over the next quarter or two as well.

Mole_man99 - You read my comment the wrong way - I wasn't referring to a positive seismic event (seismic events are always bad right?!) - UK economy is getting broadsided brutally but that doesn't mean all businesses will suffer and I happen to think VOD is going to do rather well (many others will not)... just because the markets tank it does not mean all businesses on the markets follow and tank too.

I'm pondering if 9.5% drop today could be on the cards because the BoE minutes are going to be pretty brutal, as is the press conference and look what happened over in US on the far better US Fed minutes

The.Crowman, I encourage you to print out the latest CPI update, then grab a pen... cross out any words where it's waffle and just highlight the factual items. Here's an example:

Merlwood - your question "What is it with you?" makes no sense because If you've been following me at all then you absolutely do know why I continue to post on this board, and what's more I have been 100% transparent in explaining the 'why'. Perhaps you may have started to delve into the world of flat earthers and the Truss backers? - If that's indeed the case I urge you to rethink and give consideration by opening your mind to the fact that I have told the truth about why I post on here, the story about how I came to realise CPI's financials were utterly dreadful and also the fact the Tories trashed the UK and it's great the vandals are no longer in number 10 too.

As for those incessantly complaining about the motions of the Labour party... Well, you'll get to pass judgement on them when they call a GE in 2029 and we'll all have to wait until then to do precisely the same. All pretty simple really.

Pmh198 - if the poor comms was indeed deliberate then CPI are far more likely to be hiding/masking some really dreadful news than they are to be choosing to hide highly positive news; especially as the trading update covers 11 of the 12 trading months which will make up the full year report when it's released in March... they'd risk regulators piling in and investigating them for making false statutory financial statements to the markets.

I take issue with the suggestion/hypothesis that it's down to poor comms though... many parts when read in conjunction with the HY report do add up squarely. Main gaps to be found are with net debts and expenses + costs. Albeit costs is somewhat covered as in the HY update they had prior explained some would roll into the HY25 window, so may help explain why there's less detail (if they're to be booked + reported in HY25 rather than the current FY24 when reported in March).

TerryM1 - Look your lot lost the election, Labour are in office now - they've got 5yrs before the next GE to prove themselves. No one, including me, needs any lectures/pontification from Boris/Truss/Rishi backers like yourself. Your lot vandalised + neglected the nation and the economy meanwhile they lined their own pockets. Those days are over now so get over it :-)

TerryM1 - I am not confident you understand the financial situation for CPI; by all means you crack on with spouting that Revenues don't matter. Keep on believing that if you so wish.

However, you're wholly incorrect and they especially matter for CPI in these desperate moments.

CPI just posted their update for the eleven months ended 30 November 2024... For only 3 of those (Sept/Oct/Nov) was Labour properly up & running, with their budget not delivered until 30 Oct... - Utter codswallop to claim the fall of CPI is Labours fault when CPI has been falling YoY for at least 10yrs straight!

Looks set to crash through the 14p barrier as I highly doubt the BoE decision, minutes and press conference will bring any festive cheer for the wider markets or this stock either.
