The issue there is a prospective buyer delving into their financials will quickly realise CPI is a steaming pile of turd. Only a direct competitor would be interested if their sole aim was to sell it all off and grab hold of their market share and the problem with that is CPI's market share is already falling anyway so they could just allow things to run their course and save themselves the bid money!

Hexam - That's what I admire about your prose... proper realism despite you being invested. Too many on invested on here get emotionally charged/irrational when their views are called into question on the basis of good evidence.

100% correct - I don't because I think CPI is betting too heavily on AI being their saviour. CPI is failing to be frank about their underperformance on sales volumes, all well and good targeting high margins if the business can close sales on sufficient volume. Meanwhile other competitors are no doubt stealing CPI's lunch by going for a little lower on the margins front but are likely netting healthy sales volumes in the process.

Unfortunately, I read this CPI update as it being a business in crisis and lacking resilience to cope with the economic storm it's just beginning to be hit broadsided by. To make matters worse it's demoralising its workforce, the very people it needs to motivate to bag those sales!

Hexam - Except they're highly unlikely to be seeing a positive direction even in 2026 as they first have a recession to navigate their way through, and they're entering this recession with sales volumes and revenues already falling before the full effects/impacts of that recession and the effects of the cost cutting have been delivered.

CPI will be a much smaller business by 2026 and those invested will have an even bigger stake in that smaller business, especially those who keep on buying more CPI stock.

This cuts right to the bones of the central issue with CPI... CPI sells assumptively on the basis everyone wants their inept service offering.

Look the sales volumes prove customers are running away from CPI, and not towards it. Like a shifty car dealership, unable to comprehend word has spread about the poor standards meaning the only people still buying with them are the blissfully ignorant or the desperate. Few actively seek out buying into CPI's offers.

Cornflakes, I've always been transparent - I came on here looking for an investment stock - you lot ramped the stuffing out of this and I called it out as utter baloney... Today I've resoundingly been proven to be correct and I'm mighty glad I never invested in this stock - meanwhile, I made money on other stocks I've invested into instead.

Yes, it's true that I'm an everyday working class person who does not have deep pockets but... I have done a lot of reading on economics & stocks which led me to begin investing back in Dec 2022 once I felt I'd built up enough knowledge to be able to take on some risks.

Ridicule me all you like but I stand on my solid record of stock picks which I've made good money on; having not booked a single loss since I began investing.

Translation:

Low debt because it sold off Capita One to bring in £180m for this set of results, an exercise which cannot be repeated.

Significantly falling revenues, YoY for 10yrs+

Improving margins - yes, but on far fewer sales volumes, which are also still on a falling trend too btw.

BadgerB - That's because any fool can deliver savage cuts to a business and deliver a cost saving on the balance sheet... However, it's only those with sound strategic planning who can do this and maintain healthy revenues + profits... which AH has clearly failed to achieve because the profits were propped up by the sale of Capita One and the revenues fell through the floor!

TerryM1 - It's far too early to tell yet how Labour are performing, they only took over in July and then had the usual summer parliamentary recess meaning they only got going from mid-September... They didn't have the budget until Oct 30th either as there was a need to thoroughly go through the accounts given the Tories had failed to maintain things in good order.

So in reality those claiming the October GDP poor performance is Labours fault literally have no idea what they're talking about. Much of the new budget measures don't even come into effect until 6th April 2025... So it's really only from then they can begin to be judged on their economic performance. Not forgetting they have little financial room for change because the Tories drove up the national debt to £2.75 Trillion...

However, many find when they take a moment to consider the forecast I had made that it was in fact rather accurate indeed, and so they come to realise they only have themselves to blame because the sources of data were robust, and these were shared for all to see on here to debate.

They then feel enlightened as not only was good data used to back up the point of view but then also the forecast was within a high range of accuracy when compared to the results today 👍🙂
