I’m like a dog with a bone with this and I know it’s falling on deaf ears! Lol

The higher the old price becomes the more ridiculous this idea of simply multiplying it by 15 ignoring the additional 1 Billion extra new shares!!

However I do agree with Banbury that at least part of the £140m must add to the Mcap when doing a direct old/new share price comparison but in Jasonsdad example it has jumped to an extra £1 Billion!!

Amazingly I know the majority of people here agree with that statement so let’s do some basic maths :-

£1 old price.

1,122,003,328 (1.1 BILLION) shares in circulation at that time so Mcap =
£1.1 Billion.

£15 now.

139,594,769 (140 MILLION) shares in circulation now so Mcap = £2.1 Billion.

Can anybody explain this?

If you believe in the Company that you sold out too early then I really don’t understand the reluctance to buy back in at a higher rate?

The past is the past your recent mistakes will be superseded by your next lot and most certainly won’t be your last.

Go and look n the mirror and ask yourself this question :-

Do I think the Saga share price will be more than £4 this time next year?

If the answer is yes then stop p1 ssing about man and get back in.

Won’t make hardly any difference whether you got back in at £3.70 80 or 90 when this is £10.

No you are not being daft. In theory Yes but in reality No.

I see where you are coming from insofar that Saga has 140m shares so £140m should add £1 to the value of each and every share so Mcap increases by £140m.

If only it was that simple!

The problem is that the £140m wasn’t a free cash injection. Almost a billion extra shares were sold to get that £ so every share is obviously not worth as much.

A simple example would be if there are suddenly twice as many shares then the share price normally halves so the Company value remains the same BUT the City takes into account the extra cash and circumstances and increases the share price accordingly.

Tbh its confusing and that’s why most don’t get involved in these discussions.

My understanding is that at a given point in time the share price reflects everything that is happening within a Company. Including the debt and available cash/credit, goodwill,assets, market sentiment - everything.

To get the value of the Company (Mcap) at a given point in time as you know we simply multiply the number of shares by this share price.

So the Mcap at close of play today for example (as can be seen in the lse table above) is £537m which equates to today’s closing share price (£3.83) multiplied by the current number of shares (140m).

If a Company should have a sudden windfall (Like for example the infamous £140m) then the MM, well the algorithm that runs on the platform that we call the MM will automatically increase the share price to take this into account.

Am I missing something?

I’m beginning to think I am the only one who thinks in this way which means I could very well be wrong but just can’t see it?

The good news is that the Brazilian Strain is not as bad as first thought and there is no evidence the current vaccines do not protect us so that was a close shave.

Well Tombeef you can have a laugh at my expense because I ended up quickly buying back the shares I sold earlier today for 63p for 66p ha ha at least I’m taking my own advice! Couldn’t make it up man I’m hopeless at this daytrading but it’s so addictive.

I’m not trying to advise you or anybody else so please take this the way it is meant but as hard as it is try to shake this idea out of your head.

Reluctance to buy back into any share that you sell out of too early is something we all suffer from but if you genuinely think you did sell early and think it has still got legs then never be afraid to jump back in.

I sold my entire holding at 42p bought some of them back and have been buying all the way up.

Bought loads yesterday for 55p and just sold them for 63p.

It’s always your own decision of course based on your own research. Just trying to help.

When somebody says something repetitively like he did all day everyday in my book there has to be a motive. Shorter? Possibly but personally I don’t think so. Trying to get other PIs to sell? Again possibly but I don’t think so. My money is on him being lonely and enjoying the attention. What an awful thing to do though to satisfy his own selfish needs. He will be back for sure, he will be reading this. People “like him” sadly don’t know when to stop.

Hi JoeSoap thats the Million dollar question isn’t it, how long do you hang on to your shares? Doofus is doing the right thing by setting a figure to top slice which is what I did with AVCT but then completely ignored!

When I bought at 22p it was on the back of the “imminent rapid test” - seriously.

I was well researched though because I knew if it never materialised the company was worth 69p on the cancer side alone so that was my figure to “get out”.

Cutting a long story short i got greedy and didn’t even start top slicing until about £1.50 and sold the lot at just under £2.00

Now that was some ride!

So back to SAGA and the million dollar question.

When is everyone top slicing here?

Announcement of cruises to resume? First sailings? First set of results after sailings? 1 year? 2 years? Never!?

Hi FJG you are very humble, thank you.

As you may recall I tried to second guess the direction of both AML and ODX by selling my complete holding and got both wrong big time. Came over here and did exactly the same with SAGA.

I don’t think we ever learn but if it’s any consolation all 3 gave me an opportunity elsewhere, in fact I only had the amazing opportunity with ODX (which I blew) because I got locked out of AML.

What I’m trying to say is that sinking awful feeling that you are feeling in the pit of your stomach (speaking from experience here!) can be turned around by investing elsewhere?

There are LOADS of opportunities out there and if you believe (which I think you do) that the world has got a future then pile your £ into another recovery stock that hasn’t exploded yet.

It’s just a thought, no advice intended and I also wish you well.

Remember everybody that this is just money, it’s numbers in a bank account or in this case a share platform. It’s not your health and if you have that then you are already a millionaire.
