Been my worst investment! Shouldn’t complain because I’m 50%+ up but I’m a risk taker and decided to “reign it in” and be sensible by investing in a low risk share (Saga) but the shares I sold out of have multi-bagged. SAR being my worst which I sold 8Million at 0.8p ffs Got to laugh though and no regrets {crying face}

I was a long way from home, and this person happened to be from my home town so we hit it off and they were quite relaxed.

They said that the general feeling was really positive with the new CEO and what he was saying so far they liked.

They had been with the Company a long time and the last couple of years in this same shop and were far busier now than before Covid.

Oh I also noticed in different places randomly on the shelves cards had been replaced with holders advertising the personalised cards and the website.

Well well well make what you want of a conversation I had yesterday with the Manager in a Card Factory shop….

Won’t say where (don’t want to get the person into trouble) but “in their opinion” or as they put it what they had heard “on the grape vine” was that the plan was to open another 100 shops!

Looks to me that nothing has changed and even if £ is raised it’s going to be for either paying off debt or expansion but not on line as lots here would like.

Anyhow thought I would share.

I bought another 20 grands worth yesterday.

Not sure if it was picked up on or discussed here but I did take note something that the new Ceo Darcy Willson-Rymer said in the recent Preliminary Results RNS for January 2021.

It remains an area of focus and opportunity for Card Factory, and something we that we will continue to invest in and develop. However - perhaps unlike other parts of the retail market - we are of the view that the majority of money spent on cards will still be in stores and on the High Street during the years ahead.”

Although initially I was banging the “let’s take on Moonpig” drum I have had a change of heart and actually now agree with him.

Every time me and the wife go shopping I find myself sat outside the Card shop observing both the Customers and what they are buying.

Yes yes there is a demand online of course and we are slowly getting into this but the walk in demand is huge also.

So so busy today people buying not only cards but also presents. Cups bags balloons honestly they were just buying anything on the shelves.

My kids both live away from home so I will be getting a moonpig card no doubt but if they were local they would also be in there because it’s easy and last minute.

It’s not just for Father’s Day either. All the aisles were busy.

My investment here is safe and I really don’t care if they raise this £70m through a RI. Yes the share price will dip but it will recover and easily be double what it is now in 12 months PROVIDING there are no more lockdowns.

That’s the only gamble here and one I am quite happy to take.

I’ve got a sneaky feeling that Tour is going to surprise everybody (especially Banbury).
Hey BeachB get onto your contact at Saga and ask if they have a “suggestions box”.
Maybe one of those empty rooms could be converted to a massage room because everybody likes a happy ending.

Yes I can see your £8000 and £6000 for 71.5p sell and I’m guessing that’s your Shoe buys for 82p? (although they are displayed as sells).
Be interesting to see over the coming weeks whether that was a wise move or mistake. I’m going to do likewise but I’m convinced Shoe and Wrks price will be the same soon and that’s when I will make my move.
All a bit of fun and there is no right or wrong in this game it’s how you feel at the time.

Hi PurpleInvestor I also hold both stocks and was thinking likewise. About 2 weeks ago they were both languishing around 67p and I thought about hedging my bets by balancing up my portfolio but didn’t.
Both have had £million buys since but we don’t know who Wrks was.
The owners of Shoe declared theirs and as a result their share price increased by 10p.
My advice is to wait until the share prices match up again because I think they will.
I could also be wrong of course because like everybody else here I’m just guessing.

PFen I think it’s important for everyone to have their say on a discussion board good or bad but if you are a genuine holder then surely you must believe Card has got a good future otherwise you would sell up and move on?

Have your say mate it’s healthy but starting a completely new thread with a new header is normally a statement and your last 5 that I have copied below don’t come across very well.

The first 2 are just not true or fact and the other 3 are just pointless.

Pfen do you not realise that we can click on your name and read your previous posts? All negative towards Card and that makes me suspicious whether you are a actually a holder. Am I missing something?
I registered for just about everything with Saga and regularly get brochures through the post and almost daily emails.
I have got to say I am impressed with the effort and work that is going into these because they are ok a tad expensive but otherwise “as an older gentleman” very tempting.
Banbury keeps giving “Tour” a bashing because of its wafer thin margins but surely Saga know and are addressing this?

The longer I’m in this game the less I seem to know.

£1Million buy late yesterday followed by some largish buys this morning and the share price drops?

Couldn’t make it up.

Just confirms though that this is a big game and we are the players. The price was dropped to fill that big order IMO and it wouldn’t surprise me if they are doing it again.

Only one way for the share though from here and that’s up.

Ok so no RNS this morning shedding light on yesterday’s late reported £1Million buy.
If we hear nothing then it is simply somebody new building up a position with less than the declared 3%.
Either way it is good news and let’s remember that there are only 63m shares in existence.
I reckon we will open at 74p today.

To inform us who has bought the £1Million (1,750,000 shares) earlier today and just reported.

Andrew with the greatest respect nobody who starts a thread with the title “Bust” informing everybody that the Company they are invested in is going to go down the pan “hopes they are wrong and wishes everyone well”. So insincere.

Personally when I sell out of a share I would like it to crash and burn. Lol.

ITX. Omg that name just won’t go away. I bought a couple of grands worth as a punt just over a year ago for 0.55p but stupidly sold them a week or so later. What are they now 15p? ffs.

Batfasted is correct but as far as I’m aware there was never really an opportunity to sell pre-consolidation?

Largely cut and pasted from one of my previous posts:-

Stage1
1,122,003,328 (1.1 BILLION) shares BEFORE dilution.

Stage2
2,093,921,536 (2.1 BILLION) shares AFTER dilution.

Stage3
139,594,769 (140 MILLION) shares AFTER 15:1 Consolidation.

If we simply divide the new share price by 15 (which most people here do) this will convert it to the mid stage2 completely ignoring the extra billion shares. It needs converting AGAIN (effectively doubling) to get back to the ‘OLD’ share price Stage1.

The easy answer is to miss out Stage2 and either divide or multiply the share price by 8.04 to get the ‘OLD’ or ‘NEW’ share price depending of course which one you start with or are after.

1,122,003,328/139,594,769 = 8.04

So fto99, your dads 18.5p old price is
18.5x8.04 = £1.49

I think everyone selling at this price is crazy!

A pal of mine bought in at low 50’s and took his profit and sold out at 62p.

The Works is not only a recovery stock but also just at the beginning of its “On line” journey and patience is needed.

Easily £1+ in the next 12 months in my opinion.

I’ve said this so many times before and I will say it again to anybody who will listen - this is a big game we of course are the players.

The results this morning under the circumstances are very good.

Like for like sales when the shops were open is up 6% and more importantly online sales are up %120.

What’s not to like?

The MM algorithm has dropped the share price and is busy mopping them up in the 60’s that it will sell for a higher price when this inevitably recovers - you watch.

All very clever.

You can beat it by being patient.

Knowing when to sell is extremely difficult and very few of us time it right.

If I am honest when I sell out of a Company ideally I would like it to crash and burn 10 minutes after I sell or at least go down for a few weeks, not continue on a meteoric rise like has happened so many times to me ffs ha ha
