The assessment was done by a third party - hospital in Spain. They would insisted the results are published - ethically they couldn't continue to enable a test that doesn't work to continue.

This raises question of whether other tests going through same approach. Others on here have said they get true positive with innova when they get false negative with avacta.

The tests doesn't work and it is difficult to see what major steps have been made if the whole thing is still dependent on an antibody. Kind of defeats every advantage.

Let's hope AS is not playing games with Ava006 info - well passed the point 2nd cohort due so maybe market assumes no news from AS is bad news.

I think the Zika test they did was a two affimer product. They seemed to down that route for saliva test but then switched part was through. When it worked it seemed to have excellent performance ( superior to what buyers required). The selection of S protein has target does not seem to fit with what either the regulators or others saw as best route - perhaps they could predict the risks better than Avacta.

Mark 2 appears to be a rinse and repeat. Even if it works who needs it - we say Chinese crap but we can all see who got there quickly and who is still on market.

Perhaps a number of other companies will also have to withdraw but not all of them.

Investing is not risk free. It has its ups and downs. The best news we can hope for is they get the new test to market quickly but I doubt share price will respond given the drop in trust that the companies actions have caused.

Next RNS will be med19 have found a new partner - have all infrastructure in place but no test. Contract must have this has get out clause

The Nomad has some responsibility to investors. They must be aware of the statements made by AS, information that is sensitive and the lack of clarification.

I think AS knew he had a problem when the original RNS that it works with Omnicrom came out but witheld the numbers. The external third party that did the testing would have known the results and I guess agreed to run some more tests. These results are also back and has a public body they are morally obliged to publish them. AS has had to release them

On the upside the production of accurate ABs or the search for them will have been ongoing. This latest round of withholding information will seriously upset market and reduce trust / sentiment. Staff in Avacta cashibg in options recently will not help

My hope is now 100% in AVa006 but given silence from AS I admit to be nervous. He promised an update on second cohort so has either hit problems or just cannot be arsed. My guess is he is currently collating a list of excuses for another missed deadline - it has slipped to Q2 last time.

Depend which protein is targeted - mutations don't affect all of them to same extent.

That said I suspect other companies will be making similar announcements but Avacta knew this some time ago - hence no sensitivity data in previous RNs.

Given no sales info and the counter weight old Ava006 it will be interesting to see what valuation the market gives Avacta by end of play today.

Avacta may sell significant amount of LFDs but there again not as much as Chinese. Margins are going to be low. What they have actually achieved is established affirmers as alternatives to antibodies. This is a springboard for all the other DX opportunities.

I'm thinking the validation batches might be produced and sold. Therefore awaiting confirmation of order from Avacta. Today's RNS might be what was awaited enabling the machines to start knocking production volumes out, completing testing and the TT. RNS to follow.

I'm a bit ambicikent about today's news - at least on face of it. Avacta are new able to sell in a saturated commodity market with lots of suppliers. Good news but....

However I also consider thus

Omnicron has fired a warning shot. Humanity was been lucky that current tests detected this variant. The next one maybe not.

If that happens we will need to create new tests very rapidly - Avacta are probably the only company who can physically do that. It is in the UK govt interest to treat them as a strategic asset. However, I suspect Spain will have more sense and some manufacturing will start there possible via M19

Current situation. LFT is a commodity market with 1000s of suppliers. Increasing demand can be met by through Chinese building another factory - probably take them a week. Govts oroviding free tests need to buy cheap.

Where is Avactas advantage - no one needs best test. Hence HUA etc fairly meaningless. Expect RNS that some key people have left the building. AS got it wrong, maybe in order to buy a house but company on sounder financial footing. Those that bought high are right time be passed off.

Ava006 - market will move on news.

Even if we get approvals this is looking like a commodity market (esp in UK). Where govt are the sole buyer the lowest cost producer controls price. Lowest cost requires high volumes (economy of scale). Difficult to see Avacta competing even with approvals unless lowest cost producer drops below minimum standard - irrelevent time govts that Avacta have a better test.
