I tend to think the brokers knew or suspected the DHSC would not be expected because all the recent interviews they have been silent on it. Given the success of the vaccine rollout and the pivot towards cheap and easy lft tests, it comes as no surprise. But what does come as a surprise is news of a contractual dispute with no details of what the issues are!!

There is the ability to test for different variants though and pcr is gold standard. If demand is there, it makes sense to cater for it.

I think the tracker explanation the other day is the most plausible explanation. They are simply buying and selling to keep their holding in Novacyt in proportion to other investments in their portfolio.

Smoke and mirrors. On January 11th they held 2.95%, in December they held 3.54%, at the end of January they held 3.05%. So some buying and some selling. How boring!!

I hope they are holding some news back because aren't half the shares Vatel were given free to be sold from 31st March?

What I find most shocking is that they cannot trace one of those cases because the person who gave the sample did not fill out their contact details. What an absolute shambles.

It must now occur to AZN that diagnostics could be a very profitable sideline. Roche are looking at a capacity of 100m tests a month, big numbers and the profit margin on diagnostics is very high. To combine Novacyt's know how and technology with Astra's resources and sales network would be a winning combination.

Mullis has many shares himself and has bought them at a higher level. The company has been very well managed throughout the covid crisis but the communications are very bland. The share price has to hit bottom before it will bounce back. Undervalued and oversold based on cash, ebitda and PE ratio. Could bounce at any time.

I remember diamond fields. They had a mix of superb high grade and complete dusters. Eventually the geos realised the orebody was shaped like a dougnut and the high grade stuff was like the jam filling.

If it is a tier 1 asset, it is worth billions, tens of billions. But it costs billions to build a mine, will take several years to get to first ore and it is a dodgy part of the world, and Orosur only own 25%. On the good side, it seems very high grade and not too deep plus you have the backing of two majors, one of whom is US based. I reckon it could 10 bag from here if it is tier 1. Solgold hit abou £666m market cap for 85% share of a deep tier 1 orebody in Ecuador. That is much lower grade, but big orebody, similar high risk jurisdiction though.

Some clarity is needed on the NHS contract either way. The fact that neither the broker nor Mullis have mentioned it recently makes me think it is not being extended. The government seem to be going down the quick and lazy route of LFT tests.

It was rubbish, a real car crash of a PR exercise. Almost as bad as the Prince Andrew interview. Avoided answering the questions and gave no detail. No update on the NHS contract either way. The market won't like it.
