The one thing the analysts have really missed completely is the Matthew effect/parable of talents. I think there needs to some questions around future demand for covid testing and also whether the market is undervaluing Novacyt. The vaccine makers are now saying they expect vaccines to be required for years and that the vaccines will need to be tweaked to cope with new variants just as with the annual flu vaccine. But covid isn't flu. Covid has a much higher rate of morbidity and mortality, it can also cause long term health problems. The vaccines are not 100%. Can we now say with some certainty that Covid testing at a relatively high level is likely to persist into at least 2023? Novacyt's low valuation appears to stem from the belief that demand for covid testing will end abruptly and that Novacyt's business model will then return to pre covid levels of activity, this takes no account of the expansion of the business nor the cash reserves Novacyt have accumulated. Has the high levels of demand from covid transformed Novacyt's business and set it on the path to aggressive future growth?
