If you want to know the real best stock picker in the past 10 years......that's the S&P, or the DOW, or the NASDAQ.
You could have picked almost anything in there and it'd have steadily risen over the past 8-10 years.
But as they say....past performance is no guarantee of future results ;) (and if the Yanks finally stop artificially inflating their markets it could come down hard.....but then what president is going to want to do that on their watch!)

eva1989 - That doesn't mean it's a good idea :p I certainly wouldn't buy anything just because I said it's good! I'd be very surprised if anyone here was a stock picker with enough expertise to listen to and just put your money in because they say so.

Yup. Pull back to restock the old coffers done and now back on the march upwards. Going as strongly as could be hoped for.

Personally I don't believe there's been any major seller for at least a week now (more like a week and a half). If anything I think there may have been larger buyers coming back in and the rise would have been even quicker if not for PIs cashing in on each small rise. It was simply a hangover based on fear and poor sentiment that's steadily been turning round once Acacia finished selling a while back.

steadyeddy - They'll want to encourage any selling, whether profit-taking or not, after a buying rise like that. Otherwise they won't have any stock to sell to people, and end up net short. Which I think you can imagine they wouldn't want to be on a stock like this ;)

This is how the market makers restock their coffers (widen the spread when trading slows and hope to gather sellers).
All this buying today has probably left them with low amounts of stock but they have to make a market and deal.

To quote part of a good article on InvestorsChronicle:
"When the traders stop bidding for stock at high levels and the market maker lowers their bid price, it becomes a Mexican stand-off. A ‘tree shake’ is when the market makers drop the bid in order to lower the share price, in the hope of spooking some private investors into selling their shares. This tactic is employed when buying appetite has weakened, and so the market makers capitalise and widen their spreads to deter further buying.

There are no buyers in the market, but nobody wants to sell at a low price when the market maker was bidding much higher before. Eventually, someone bites, and the market maker then bids lower again. By using tricks like this and making the stock unattractive to buy by widening the spread, the market maker is able to cover their short position on the stock."

Just be aware that's a classic tactic to stall a rise and get people to see (and the reverse).
Whack a massive order on one side to encourage trading to the other side.
If they actually wanted to sell lots, it would make a lot more sense to sit on the ask with a smaller amount, that continually replenishes when bought into (an iceberg).

If using spreads on these microcaps you have to accept that you'll quite often end up having to take prices at the bottom end of a big spread. Hence being of more value if you're aiming for high percentage gains. Shares being better if you're actually trading in/out for smaller gains.

Dunno about the share price recovering from the last bender but it definitely took me a while ;)

Miggy007 - well you can't say I didn't warn them all strongly this was likely despite all the protestation from scaremongers and panic'ers. Where are most of them by the way? ;)

Starting to break-out upwards. 44p (43.96) being paid and 42p on the bid.

In a non-investing post, I really hope SNG001 is taken up and used by the NHS as soon as possible, for my own safety and the safety of everyone else.
If we are going to be going back to "normal" (as it looks like we're heading for increasingly quickly), I'd find it a lot more reassuring, that there's a treatment ready which can help fight off the nasty virus, in the event of being unlucky enough to contract it. The improved testing coming on stream ASAP would also be a big comfort (the quicker you can get tested, results, and start treatment the better).

Well you've got increasing rafts of data, from around the world, showing that IFN-B makes a material difference...and SNG have the patent for what's clearly the easiest/simplest/nicest way to distribute/deliver it.
If the COPD data shows good results it's hard to imagine it wouldn't have the same benefit as IV IFN-B is showing (in earlier stage patients at the least).

shan: simple answer is I don't think anyone can tell you that (maybe not even the company yet) and may well vary by market and customer.

If they're anything like the rest of the world where 10% of cases have been dying (very roughly) then they're on course for over 200,000 dead!

I suspected towards the end of the week, judging by some posting, people had sold and were hoping to try to trade back in for a lower level, because they'd seen it happen before (probably when Acacia were still selling). That's a big gamble. The market has a habit of not making things so easy ;)

Also, you're talking about the middle of next month for results, you must mean the COVID hospital results, which are probably the least interesting and least likely thing to be good!
COPD data could land at any time and be a company maker (as could any unpredictable news).
