Forest24 - what would be the point? (in COVID)

Of course the CEO will be watching the financial situation.
It's generally partnering rather than funding in Biotech as they tend to prove up the concept then either get bought outright or partner with a bigger company to develop it (hence the RNS mentioning money allocated for: "Strengthened balance sheet for potential partnering discussions with regards to the COVID-19, future pandemic preparedness, and the COPD opportunity").
There's also a reasonable chance there will be no P3 in COVID if this trial is well recruited and works. With the numbers they're talking about in the trial (100-600) that could easily be enough. In the current situation, I'd actually probably be more surprised if they did phase III trials, than if they didn't, and don't see why it wouldn't be pushed into production, if the data is good. Interferon beta is a known substance and from all the various trials they've done they'd have more than enough safety data.

I'm not "expecting" one (although wouldn't be surprised if one came either).
Acacia should have issued one already if they were following the rules and still selling any kind of meaningful amount. As they go through percentage thresholds.
Doesn't mean to say they won't issue one later going through a load of thresholds in one go (I've seen that before even though it seems to break the rules - perhaps all being sold in one lump off-market explains that).

If you don't think social media / messageboards influences people's trading then you're badly wrong!

It is however one of the single most common scaremongering tactics to go on about funding and placings.
Gets rather fishy when someone starts posting about it over and over with no justification.

This is still worth peanuts and what could be the value in worldwide sales of a treatment for COPD patients to stop them getting complications (and potentially asthma and other indications) from various viruses, an a potential treatment for the COVID pandemic, that could be quickly and easily scaled up into production.
Good COPD results might be enough to tip the balance for someone into swooping before others who might wait for COVID data (and on it's own could be worth a small fortune).

That may be the case but it's always nice to see the trading heading in the right direction. Particularly as a large proportion of people pay more attention to the SP than anything else. The higher this gets before any good news the better.

I don't see why they'd do any fundraising...they've already done it.
If things go well they'll be trying to secure orders for the product and manufacture it, or do a deal with a major, or get bought out entirely.

You're obviously right that the minutiae of the trading doesn't matter. However it's at least encouraging for the price to be seeing more block trades that appear to be buys rather than appearing to indicate a seller.
We don't need everyone going "boom" every two minutes....but a bit of positivity about the trading looking increasingly encouraging isn't that bad :p

Standard practice for biotech companies like these to have long term incentive plans so that the staff developing the drug share in the success of all their work. Nothing wrong with that.

Well I've seen thousands or tens of thousands of these "codes" over the years and they're far more often than not nonsense. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Sharedealer2019 - OK you can continue to believe the earth is flat if you like.....all I can say I don't know anyone who's been trading for a long time who takes this stuff seriously (maybe with the exception of some dodgy people who're likely to put trade codes through themselves on the feeds to influence the gullible people who believe it!).

If I say it's going to open up higher tomorrow if a car screeches down my street at 1am, it doesn't mean it's proof that boy racers screeching down my street are a reliable indicator for showing how the trading will go, when one screeches down my street at 1am tomorrow morning ;)
