It's all very egalitarian but where does it stop? Design some massively improved electricity storage system for cars - 'thanks pal, the state will take your patent for that.' A new cancer platform? 'Thanks, we'll take the patent off you for that.'
Then where does the money come from for the risky research that ends up not producing a blockbuster drug? Not from the state, because they only want patents lifted from the profitable drugs. So all incentive to invest in new therapies is taken away, or to invent or invest in anything globally urgent. Naughty drug companies, trying to get a return on their investment. Shame on you. Meanwhile, India is presumably still spending a few spare rupees on a space programme and a stack of nuclear weapons....

Rodders, I look in here only now and again but had to post just to say that while most here are faceless names on a board, my heart genuinely goes out to you and your family. I can't do anything practical to help, but like so many others here feel the frustration of being so powerless. Thoughts and prayers with you and yours.

I stand corrected. My apologies! Mind you, in an ideal world I would draw the line immediately south of the bottom end of the A970, but that might be seen as a little too extreme by some.

My brother used to live in Ongar Road, at the end of which (apparently) was Fulham's football ground. He was as interested in football as I am.

I can think of good arguments for either side on that one.

Question Time usually has a strong left wing bias so any suggestion of removing ip from a company or private endeavour and reducing the prospect of profit is bound to get a more enthusiastic airing, but in the real world will be a non-starter.

Let's hope news comes and it's ke-tching all round. (Other opinions are available...)

As I say, pure coincidence. Probably. I would have thought a fundamental criticism was valid at any point regardless of the sp, but that's just an opinion.

WTP - agreed. Strange how you never see comments about BoD not buying shares and other pet negatives when the SP is rising or steady... Pure coincidence obviously....

Hence the repeated mention of Scancell by CEPI perhaps?
