The problem with Vitamin D research is that the cost of a large scale trial would be as usual very great, but at the end of it there is no patent or profit to be made to recoup the cost, so here is no commercial incentive to look into it. It certainly seems to have been overlooked. John Campbell's impartial and analytical approach seems to show Vitamin D is massively underestimated and deficient in so many people.

Aimee, you miss (or avoid) the point of my post. A purchase for whatever reason is encouraging, and of that size at the end of the week is, as I say, intriguing. The general reaction of the more decent and steady holders appears to be very much 'nice, but let's wait and see what actually comes of it - if anything.' My basic point was that similar size sells at the end of a week would have produced a number of very adamant posts that share-price armageddon was imminent, and doubtless those giving that message would talk long and loud about how they had already sold out. I would doubt, had they been sells, that you would have said calmly that it might just be the ins and outs of trading within a range, not in any of your personae current or bygone. Your suggestion that maybe a couple of buyers see it as a new buy in point from which to start a rise is one of a number of possibilities, but you will agree that there is growing justification for an increasing likelihood of Scancell continuing its rise in conspicuity in the pharma world and quite likely the commercial arena before too long.

Exactly my point last night - had they been sells, we'd have been bombarded with 'somebody knows something and is getting out fast', but as buys they attract no balanced comment from the damps. Will Monday bring news, or is it just coincidence that investors pay 135k for 568,000 shares - 6 weeks ago they would only have had to pay 78 grand, or alternatively for their 135k they could have picked up over a million shares. So what made someone (or a couple of people) with a spare 6 figure sum take the plunge? Maybe I'll have a hotdog before my popcorn.

Entirely possible Ivy - as ever, who knows? But there are considerable and increasing grounds for optimism principally in the science, but also the way media attention and comments are going. I've always felt that the science is way more important than any media involvement. Scancell's track record with publicity has long been a bone of contention with a number here - however the company have consistently taken the line of not engaging the press unless there is something actually brewing, for example the media flurry that preceded the Government's 2.7 million input, and indeed preceded the Redmile investment - a means of drawing attention to the company when they had something brewing to shout about. There are a lot of factors which give very justifiable grounds for buying some popcorn and sitting back in reasonable expectation of a good show being revealed. As ever the confidence might be misplaced, and we won't know until the well upholstered lady bursts into song, but after so many years of slow steady progress the whole complexion of Scancell and its surroundings has changed massively (and positively imo). I also find the late buys declared last night to mildly eyebrow-raising - Had they been sells I wouldn't be reaching for the weedkiller or heading up to a high ledge, but I would have been mildly concerned about imminent bad news as a possibility, so when 135,000 quid gets bunged in on a Friday afternoon and shown after hours I think we are entitled to be curious as to what if anything lies behind that move.

A GP friend of mine reports hearing that the current vaccines are only 10 percent effective against the South African variant, although other reports I have heard say around 50 percent. Any way up it's a reason for governments to extract their digits and go full on with anything reasonable promising, and imo it is fair to say that Covidity looks very promising. Speed is of the essence - 3rd wave coming in Europe, variants popping up here and there, and a big bowl of Covidity soup brewing at Kiel...

I was going to make my first ever prediction, that any minute now Knowlesi would pop up like a turd in the Thames with a Sunday night dose of gloom, but it's already happened.

I don't know which vaccine he had, but I read that Imran Khan was diagnosed with covid after having the jab, but was probably incubating it anyway. I believe A-Z first dose doesn't give much protection until around 3 weeks have passed, and after 4 weeks it is about 85-90 percent.

Around 29 million first doses so far I believe.

If there's a connection to Levi 901s, then it must be a jean therapy.

Just looked at the Scancell twitter page - they are following 109, and being followed by 901. It's a sign I tell you!

I'll hazard it could hit 30p all being well. (Don't want to wake the children with anything too optimistic).
But seriously, given that the current vaccine allows some movement in the direction of normality, the pressure to get a second generation vaccine is off the scale - economies cannot withstand another 12 months of such slowdown and mayhem. Name your price for a vaccine that gets ahead of new variants. Or even a vaccine that is one of 10 that come near to that.
