Having taken a while to sit and observe, it is interesting to reflect on the number of posters over the years who have left the board, the majority of whom having been removed for abuse in many forms rather than just moved on and lost interest either in the share or just in the board. Those of you who with oft gritted teeth have followed the company's progress through thick and thin may remember how a good number of the (ultimately) banned kept returning doggedly to revive their old tricks. Aimbig returned regularly, always with a hint of his old identity (BigAmi being a notable one I recall), and it wasn't unknown for banned posters to return 1,2 or even four times of they possibly could. Of course they would never admit to any 'former life' - not even they were daft enough to do that, obviously! The first significant upsetting of their apple cart came when GF123 turned up and started buying in biggish lumps as their apparently orchestrated buying and selling sought to weaken or strengthen the sp at their direction and aid trading opportunities. Who can forget the vicious and sustained vitriol directed at GF123? - they didn't like inanaco because of his fundamental understanding of the science which didn't fit with the insidious sniping, but GF was an additional layer of confidence which caused considerable weakening of the stance of those who would seek to manipulate. Remember the lines? He doesn't exist! He's C7. He's some fantasy creation. He is a lucky guesser (despite regularly stating large buys an hour or more before they were published on numerous occasions) and many other increasingly wild attacks. It was the deeply unpleasant reaction to Inanaco's steadfast analysis and GF's financial commitment which as much as anything made me ever more relaxed about my longer term holding, and it is so gratifying to think that we may well be on the cusp of a really interesting newsflow on so many fronts - a belief reinforced by the ever-diminishing efforts of the remaining 'team damp' gloomies to slate what looks like a great future about to open up. Just my random thoughts for a Tuesday evening anyway.

RP - very likely! It's been a very sound and structured progression lately imo. Big wodges of money, high status staff, general expansion of numbers and skills, and now emerging into trials with the brains and the cash to grow. Exponentially I hope!

Good points - apart from the obvious fact that the SA thing is a trial in itself (after a long time without any active ones) there are several very significant features around it which give it enormous potential and also the promise of short timescales.

In the absence of any apparent willingness or ability to use the filter settings, I wonder if Kashdog has any constructive views on the imminent trial in South Africa, or if he intends simply to maintain withering and needless abuse and derogatory comments exclusively directed at one poster who contributes a great deal imo, and who would doubtless not be the least bit offended if put on someone's filter list rather than persistently pilloried by an outdated small clique of most unpleasant individuals?

Evans only declared shareholding was one million bought at 7p, so if still has that, then he can sell and pocket a 140,000 pound profit. A 300 percent profit in a relatively short space of time is commendable, so if he wants out for any reason he's made good. Selling at a profit is fine, especially if one has other plans for the funds. But I suspect Evans' comments have some underlying personal element as much as any business decisions. Anyway, there are a lot of factual and scientific facts to scrutinise pertinent to Scancell's near and longer term future, which makes pondering over the quotes of a potentially bitter ex employee perhaps a little fruitless.

Would it be reasonable to suggest that this RNS is just the start? This is now the Redmile/Vulpes investment starting to bear significant fruit, and it's worth looking at the framework of staff, funding and contacts that have been put in place ahead of any clinical developments. Trials are trials for a reason, but to me this company oozes both confidence and competence.

Very true Ray. The amount of Diggle digging done before their investment was apparently extremely rigorous, and Redmile too. That, and the fact that they have put such significant sums in is worthy of reflection. Speculation on the lines of 'what if they hadn't' seems somehow a little feeble. We expect better of the doomies. 'Go glum or go home', to coin a phrase. I mean, what if Lindy had decided to study something other than medicine? Or been run over by a bus 10 years ago? Where would scancell be if that had happened?

I seem to recall the FDA's problem was with the electroporation device and Ichor, rather than anything directly connected to Scancell's science, but it was very frustrating for sure.

I was pondering about how the reaction of some on the board would be if the CEPI tweet had a different company name, and anyone suggested Scancell could be in with a shout for CEPI support. That would be an interesting one to see. But the plain fact is that while it is no guarantee until news comes, SCLP have been at the forefront of an article that CEPI have retweeted on several recent occasions. So pick the bones out of that, as they say.
