It improves symptoms in a younger cohort probably who would recover form Covid anyway .Nothing wrong in that but it was inconclusive on the effect viral replication and presumably viral load .The real test will come in P3 when they do over 65 with comorbidity will it prevent virus replication and disease progression .Is it a true agnostic antiviral or just an anti inflammatory in my humble opinion ?

For those interested Budesonide a good article in the Guardian and the next stage P3 the Oxford Principle trial which includes over 65s with co morbidities .The P2 which are not yet peer reviewed describes the benefits of the anti-inflammatory effect Budesonide but “may “ have an effect on viral replications. Does not stand up to our drug I think a lot more needs to be done before it becomes the full Monty but there again, they have the Oxford connection

I assume this study has not been peer reviewed will be interesting to see if it stands up to scrutiny Doesn’t appear to be doing well from the BB comments but it will be toughest from from the review body unless Horby gives it the thumbs up lol

The follow ups on long covid in the HT and P3 and if proven to be of benefit with our therapeutic will be a major break through and possibly other viral fatigue syndromes

Everyone on HT including placebo will have tested PCR positive .Other than recovery , hospitalization endpoints etc what other biomarkers would be investigated to prove a positive effect of treatment eg oxygen levels or more sophisticated specific biomarkers or reduction of viral load .I do not view this as negative but it is a reality check just like rather small Mab events but 11 v 36 endpoints is that efficacy of around 30% ? Like RM said any signal however small is priceless in the HT

Surely there must be enough pooled data “signals”to warrant a EUA I think he did mention later this year .What could be holding it back

Agree Brysoa that the placebo arm would be a good signal . As RM stated after when asked about at what stages would you administer the drug .Whatever the setting Home /Hospital the drug triggers multi pathways that have evolved to handle the virus I am hopeful it will be proved to be the superior therapeutic

I would not play down the HT results too much The signal as RM as said they found in asthma and COPD in the home setting is never that strong "but given where we are in the world is broken and straining (His words to that effect ) any signal in home trial is Priceless" .But what I would have wanted to have heard from HT is that disease progression is halted or virus load is reduced to zero,but he would not divulge that until the results What was exciting is the possibility of positive data for the long Covid investigation . I would like to listen to what the other competitors had on offer later

Another reason I didn’t mention in my previous perhaps I am just the a suspicious kind of guy and it been mentioned before is France A Third wave macron under extreme political pressure death rates rising They might steal the march on us with their IFN 1b who could blame them for not trying in a crisis that why RM needs to be alert and act quickly and here’s hoping he will .Back to mowing grass perhaps smoking it would give me a more relaxed outlook

My expectations was that data /EUA be released ASAP and to get this treatment out for the purpose it was intended to save lives .Long Covid if proven to be of benefit with SNG001 can continue and is an extra bonus
